2 2 1) Venezuelans Ransack Stores as Hunger Grips the Nation (June 2016). With delivery trucks under constant attack, the nation s food is now transported under armed guard. Soldiers stand watch over bakeries. The police fire rubber bullets at desperate mobs storming grocery stores, pharmacies and butcher shops. A 4-year-old girl was shot to death as street gangs fought over food. In the last scenes of this earth s history war will rage. There will be Excitement in the city pestilence, plague and famine. The waters of the deep will overflow their boundaries. Property and life will be destroyed by fire and flood. Pastor Jan: The devil s reverse psychology is in play - using crime, terror, and horrors to cause leaders to talk up banning certain guns - knowing that it will cause the masses to arm themselves more than ever - in preparation for this - Though a general decree has fixed the time when commandment keepers may be put to death, their enemies will in some cases anticipate the decree, and before the time specified, will endeavor to take the test. This will be our final test before graduating from the preparatory school of Christ - to go to the higher university in heaven. Houses and lands will be of no use to the saints in the time of trouble, for they will then have to flee before infuriated mobs, and at that time their possessions cannot be disposed of to advance the cause of present truth... Soon unnecessary houses and lands will be of no benefit to anyone, for the curse of God will rest more and more heavily upon the earth. Last Day Events, p their lives. But none can pass the mighty guardians stationed about every faithful soul. [Praise God!] Some are assailed in their flight from the cities and villages; but the swords [guns] raised against them break and fall powerless as a straw. Others are defended by angels in the form of men of war. GC 631. The people of God are not at this time all in one place. They are in different companies and in all parts of the earth; and they will be tried singly, not in groups. Every one must stand the test [whether or not to receive the mark of the beast by going along with the Sunday law] for himself. 4BC The faith of individual members of the church will be tested as though there were not another person in the world. 7BC 983. And the entire universe will be watching to see if you, I, and all of God s people will pass

3 3 The best thing for us is to come into close connection with God and, if He would have us be martyrs for the truth s sake, it may be the means of bringing many more into the truth. 3SM 420. Hope: What else does the testimony of dear Jesus say about the cities? Pastor Jan: Here it is - Terrible shocks will come upon the earth, and the lordly palaces erected at great expense will certainly become heaps of ruins. 3MR 312. When God s restraining hand is Dear Pastor Jan: My brother and I have grown up as Roman Catholics, but after he read your book, National Sunday Law, he became a Seventhday Adventist. The far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory was despised when offered them; but how desirable it now appears! All this, cries the lost soul, I might have had; but I chose to put these things far from me. Oh, strange infatuation! GC 668. removed, the destroyer begins his work. Then in our cities the greatest calamities will come. 3MR 314. Notice the words, the destroyer begins his work. Most people don t realize that it s the destroyer, and not our kind Father who brings the awful, horrible calamities when God s restraining hand is removed. 3MR 314. Then why does inspiration call them, the judgments of God? Our kind Father knows human nature well enough to know that if He called the horrible calamities the judgments of Satan, many of the ignorant masses would worship Satan from fear - to appease him like the heathen tried to appease their cruel gods. So God takes the credit for what Satan does so people won t end up worshiping the devil more than they already do. He knows that it s better for people to Fear God, and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment is come. Rev. 14:7. And in another sense, they are the judgments of God because, until God allows the devil to bring them, the fiend can do nothing. Our kind Father allows the destroyer to bring calamities with the desire that the worldly people will cry out to Jesus before it s too late. The prophet continues - The end is near and every city is to be turned upside down every way. There will be confusion in every city. Everything that can be shaken is to be shaken and we do not know what will come next. The judgments will be according to the wickedness of the people and the light of truth that they have had. 1MR 248. O that God s people had a sense of the impending In the future, people will see this on the news, in social media, and in person. A power from beneath is working to bring about the last great scenes in the drama Satan coming as Christ, and working in those who are binding themselves together in secret societies. 8T 28. The church has long professed to look to the Saviour's advent. Now the great deceiver will make it appear that Christ has come. In different parts of the earth, Satan will manifest himself among men as a majestic being of dazzling brightness, resembling the description of the Son of God given by John in Rev. 1: The glory that surrounds him is unsurpassed by anything that mortal eyes have yet beheld. The shout of triumph rings out upon the air: Christ has come! Christ has come! The people prostrate themselves in adoration before him, while he lifts up his hands and pronounces a blessing upon them. In gentle, compassionate tones he presents some of the same gracious, heavenly truths which the Saviour uttered; he heals the diseases of the people, and then, in his assumed character of Christ, he claims to have changed the Sabbath to Sunday, and commands all to hallow the day which he has blessed. He declares that those who persist in keeping holy the seventh day are blaspheming his name by refusing to listen to his angels sent to them with light and truth. This is the strong, almost overmastering delusion. GC 624. destruction of thousands of cities, now almost given to idolatry. Ev 29. The time is near when large cities will be swept away, and all should be warned of these coming judgments. Ibid. Do it sweetly. Notice the word, all. I have seen the most costly structures in buildings erected and supposed to be fireproof, and just as Sodom perished in the flames of God s vengeance so will these proud structures become ashes... The flattering monuments of men s greatness will be crumbled in the dust even before the last great destruction comes upon the world. 3SM 418. God is withdrawing His Spirit from the wicked cities, which have become as the cities of the antediluvian world and as Sodom and Gomorrah. Costly mansions, marvels of architectural skill, will be destroyed without a moment s notice when the Lord sees that the owners have passed the boundaries of forgiveness. The destruction by fire of the stately buildings, supposed to be fireproof, is an illustration of how in a short time earth s architecture will lie in ruins. TDG 152. God has not executed His wrath without mercy. His message must be given in Greater New York. The people must be shown how it is possible for God, by a touch of His hand, to destroy the property they have gathered together against the last great day. 3MR 310, 311. I know that one day the great buildings will be thrown down by the turning and overturning of God s power. Death will come in all places. This is why I am so anxious for our cities to be warned. LDE 113. I praise our kind Father that before the pope gives his tricky message on a giant screen to about a million people gathered in Washington D.C. on July 16, many of God s dear SDA people are working to be there to give the people thousands of little NSL preachers. Praise God! I hope you ll see many of them in heaven! Scenes that would soon take place in Chicago and other large cities also passed before me. As wickedness increased and the protecting power of God was withdrawn, there were destructive winds and buildings were destroyed by fire and shaken down by earthquakes. I was at a Labor Day Parade giving out National Sunday Law books when the Lord impressed a man to come to the parade, and come just where I was giving the books out. He read the book and later told me that he was baptized as a Seventh-day Adventist! Praise the Lord! Howard A. N.Y.

Even in the cities where the judgments of God have fallen in consequence of such transgression, there is no sign of repentance. The saloons are still open, and many temptations are kept before the people. LDE 114. All the warnings of Christ regarding the events that will occur near the close of this earth s history are now being fulfilled in our large cities. All this iniquity is filling large cities and is making the world as it was in the days that were before the Flood. The wicked are being bound up in bundles, bound up in trusts, in unions, in confederacies. Let us have nothing to do with these organizations. God is our Ruler, our Governor, and He calls us to come out from the world and be separate. [2 Cor. 6:17]. Ibid. The trades unions will be one of the agencies that will bring upon this earth a time of trouble such as has not been since the world began. 2SM 142. The spiritual darkness that covers the whole world is intensified in the crowded centers of population. It is in the cities of the nations that the gospel worker finds the greatest impenitence and the greatest need. And in these same cities are presented to soul-winners some of the greatest opportunities. Mingled with the multitudes who have no thought of God and heaven are many who long for light and for purity of heart. Even among the careless and indifferent there are not a few whose attention may be arrested by a revelation of God s love for the human soul. LDE 117. The third angel s message is now to be proclaimed where multitudes dwell unwarned and unsaved. Our cities everywhere are calling for whole-hearted labor from the servants of God. Ibid. Our cities are increasing in wickedness, and it is becoming more and more evident that those who remain in them unnecessarily do so at the peril of their soul s salvation. LDE ) Here s a time line. Is time that short? Pastor Jan: It s because of this - But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Legislation that will force rest on Sunday would be the ideal solution. Many voices are clamoring to fulfill such a goal, using the economy, the environment, and the family as reasons to legislate the day of the sun. Faith: In this letter, we see just a tiny bit of what the devil and his forces are doing. In view of all this, what has dear Jesus been doing to counteract the devil s work of death? Pastor Jan: Watch closely - From Jerusalem the report of Christ s miracles had spread wherever the Jews were dispersed... Many from all parts of the world had come up to the Feast of Tabernacles Dear Pastor Jan Marcussen, I was born into the Roman Catholic church, and all my family knelt down to a statue of the Virgin Mary. As time went by, I became addicted to every drug you can think of. My great goal was to kill my dad because he would beat me so bad that I had whip marks all over my body. So I took martial arts and power lifting to be armed for the war with my dad. The day came when he was drunk, and I told him what I was going to do. But before I could punch him, he started to cry like a baby. It touched my heart. Later, I was dying from alcohol, and I cried out to God to save me. Praise God! in the hope of seeing Him. The Pharisees and rulers looked for Him to come, hoping for an opportunity to condemn Him. They anxiously inquired, Where is The scenes of the future life seemed outspread before Him. As one who beheld the Unseen, He spoke of the earthly and the heavenly, the human and the divine... Under a variety of representations He warned His hearers of the calamity that would follow all who rejected the blessings He came to bring them. He had given them every possible proof that He came forth from God, and made every possible effort to bring them to repentance. He would not be rejected and murdered by His own nation if He could save them from the guilt of such a deed... As Jesus spoke in the temple court, the people were held spellbound. The very men who were the most violent against Him felt themselves powerless to do Him harm. For the time, all other interests were forgotten. Day after day He taught the people, until the last, that great day of the feast. The morning of this day found the He? but no one knew. The thought of Him was uppermost in all minds. Through fear of the priests and rulers, none dared acknowledge Him as the Messiah, but everywhere there was quiet yet earnest discussion concerning Him. Many defended Him as one sent from God, while others denounced Him as a deceiver of the people. Meanwhile Jesus had quietly arrived at Jerusalem. In the midst of the feast, when the excitement concerning Him was at its height, He entered the court of the temple in the presence of the multitude. Because of His absence from the feast, it had been urged that He dared not place Himself in the power of the priests and rulers. All were surprised at His presence. Every voice was hushed. All wondered at the dignity and courage of His bearing in the midst of powerful enemies who were thirsting for His life. Standing thus, the center of attraction to that vast throng, Jesus addressed them as no man had ever done... He broke through the barriers of formalism and tradition. I was born and raised in the Mennonite Church, and since graduating from school six years ago, God has been putting information in my path about what s happening in the world. Having prayed for wisdom to understand Bible prophecy, I was amazed when I found a copy of the book National Sunday Law in my mail box. It s wonderful to have found in the Seventh-day Adventist church such an astute knowledge of Scripture and prophecy as is in National Sunday Law. He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. The condition of the people made this appeal very forcible. They had been engaged in a continued scene of pomp and festivity, their eyes had been dazzled with light and color, and their ears regaled with the richest music; but there had been nothing in all this round of ceremonies to satisfy the thirst of the soul. Jesus invited them to come and drink of the fountain of life, of that which would be in them a well of water, springing up unto everlasting life.

6 6 There in the presence of the assembled multitude He set Himself apart to be smitten, that the water of life might flow to the world. [Wonderful Jesus!] In smiting Christ, Satan thought to destroy the Prince of life; but from the smitten rock there flowed living water. [Praise God!] As Jesus spoke to the people, their hearts thrilled with a strange awe, and many were ready to exclaim, with the woman of Samaria, Give me this water, that I thirst not. I was a Methodist. One day I opened my front door and found the book National Sunday Law on my door step! I read it every night for two weeks! I was overwhelmingly convicted of the Sabbath truth. Now I have to get this book to others! My mother was baptized as a Seventh-day Adventist. I was baptized shortly after her, and now I m teaching God s truth to others! We go out Sabbath afternoon and hand out NSL books. Praise God for His wonderful seventh-day Sabbath! Yours in Christ, Dean Jesus knew the wants of the soul. Pomp, riches, and honor cannot satisfy the heart. If any man thirst, let him come unto Me. The rich, the poor, the high, the low, are alike welcome. He promises to relieve the burdened mind, to comfort the sorrowing, and to give hope to the despondent. Many of those who heard Jesus were mourners over disappointed hopes, many were seeking to satisfy their restless longing with the things of the world and the praise of men; but when all was gained, they found that they had toiled only to reach a broken cistern. Amid the glitter of the joyous scene they stood, dissatisfied and sad. That sudden cry, If any man thirst, startled them from their sorrowful meditation, and as they listened to the words that followed, their minds kindled with a new hope. The Holy Spirit presented the symbol before them until they saw in it the offer of the priceless gift of salvation. [Praise God!] The cry of Christ to the thirsty soul is still going forth, and it appeals to us with even greater power than to those who heard it in the temple on that last day of the feast. The fountain is open for all. The weary and exhausted ones are offered the refreshing draught of eternal life. Jesus is still crying, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink.
