Although advance registration is required, the day is open to the public and will be held Aug. 11, 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Bishop O Dowd High School, 9500 Stearns Ave., Oakland. Speakers include the vice president of Life Teen, the executive director of Courage International, and the director of evangelization and parish life for the Miami Archdiocese, along with Bishop Michael Barber and local experts such as Mary Machi, director of faith formation and evangelization at St. Joan of Arc Parish in San Ramon.
