3 THE WORD OF GODI The people are seated for the reading of the Holy Gospel and the Carols. THE GOSPEL The Christmas Story according to Luke Luke 2:1-20 IN those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. All went to their own towns to be registered. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. 5 THE NICENE CREED Said by all WE believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE After each intercession We pray to you, O Lord: Lord, hear our prayer. Final intercession Joining our voices with the blessed Virgin Mary, and all the saints and angels of God, let us offer ourselves and one another to the living God through Christ. To you, O Lord. Concluding Collect Source of light and gladness, accept the prayers we offer on this joyful feast. May the Rising Sun of Christ spread across the world and brighten all humanity; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. THE PEACE All stand The peace of the Lord be always with you. And also with you. The collection taken at this liturgy is divided between the maintenance and mission of Trinity Episcopal Church and the charitable causes we support. We are grateful for your generous giving. 11 Join us for Our Monthly Spaghetti Supper on January 3 at 6pm Each year a mission group from Trinity travels to Honduras. Since groups have gone to work on seven different churches and a school. A spaghetti supper is held at Trinity at 6pm on the first Tuesday of each month, September June to help support the mission work. All food and beverages are provided. The suggested donation for the meal is $5. The meal is served in our Parish House behind the church to the left. Sundays at 5 "Sundays at 5" is our series of Choral Evensongs, special concerts and special liturgies, usually held on the first Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. We welcome guest choirs, guest organists and other instrumentalists to be a part of these special events and services. Events are free, donations are welcome.
