1 Escritorio: Spanish word for desktop EN Pastoral appointments 2017 By decision of Archbishop Albert LeGatt, D.D., after consultation with the College of Consultors, the following are the assignments in the Archdiocese of Saint Boniface for the current year. You may see the full list on our website with this issue of Escritorio. I would like however to point here only those that concerns us directly. Ø Father Gabriel Lévesque is appointed Pastor of Saint Norbert Parish for a six-year mandate. Ø Father Joseph Kazadi Mudishi is coming from the Diocese of Mbujimayi (RDC), and will be appointed Parochial Administrator for Sainte Anne et pastoral region for a six-year mandate. Archbishop Albert LeGatt, Father Louis Légaré, OMI, and other priests will take on responsibility for Sunday Liturgies. Fathers René Chartier, Charles Fillion and John McKenzie will be responsible for celebrating funerals and other liturgical celebrations as well as assuring pastoral care to the sick as needed. A Parish Life Director responsible for the coordination of all aspects of pastoral life and activities, will be appointed. The Parish Finance Committee will be in charge of all financial and temporal administration. These mandates are in effect until Father Kazadi Mudishi is appointed Parochial Administrator. Ø Father Gerry Sembrano is appointed Pastor of Saint Emile Parish for a six-year mandate. Ø Father John McKenzie is appointed Priest-Moderator of Steinbach (Christ Our Saviour) for a one-year mandate. Our Website: Father Charles Fillion, Pastor Telaraña Mass Intentions (1 of 3) Whenever Mass is offered, there are three fruits derived from the offering: the general (for the whole Church), the special or ministerial (for the intention of the priest as minister), and the personal (to each of the faithful, including the priest, who participate, to each according to his disposition). The intention for which the priest accepts a stipend is not his personal intention but rather his intention as the priest, that is, the minister of the sacrifice. Certainly, when a priest accepts a stipend to offer a Mass he commits himself to celebrate a Mass according to the intentions of the person making the offering. Justice demands that he effectively offers the Mass. In order to do so he must make some act of personal offering, at the very least uniting his intention to that of the person who requested the Mass. This intention is most often to recommend the soul of a deceased person but may also be for the personal intentions of the living (as for the sick, anniversary, etc.). #EndSlavery Telaraña: Spanish word for the Web #EndSlavery is an initiative of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences and Pontifical Academy of Sciences for their work to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking, a task Pope Francis assigned to them in There are lots of Catholic resources on modern slavery. There is even a Youth Resources Against Slavery section. You can also find Legislation Framework, different Publications and Ethics in Action for Sustainable and Integral Development. The website is only in English, Spanish & Italian.
