God uses broken things beau fully, Broken clouds pour rains, Broken soil sets as fields, Broken crop yields seeds, Broken seeds give new life to new plants. I thank the Lord for making use of the broken person as I am during the last six years. And I must have been: a Broken pot too useless.. or a Broken glasses hur ng or a Broken mirror unclear... I am sorry Lord and dear confreres, forgive me. I sincerely wish to express my deepest sen ments of gra tude, apprecia on and honour to everyone who has been part of my journey during these years: To the uperior Generals, Assistants Generals and the General councilors and General Bursar for their trusted confidence placed in me and for all their very mely and fraternal assistance, direc ons and support given for the growth of the province. To the provincials of the congrega on for their inspira ons and support, very specially to the PIF(Provincials of India Forum). To the former provincials Fr.Jerson D'ouza and Fr. Mario D'souza and their teams for shouldering the responsibility of the province during their me and for their guidance to us. To the councilors who have been constant companions during the last six years, by being and walking together, and for keeping up to my pace and o en speeding up and regula ng my pace. To our secretaries for their dedicated and crea ve service rendered to the province. And to you my dear confreres who have been the cause of joy and growth in the province, I pay my tribute of gra tude to each one of you for your every effort that has made : the community a be er place to live in, the ministry more vibrant by your presence, the province and the congrega on and the church at large, grown to the stature where we are now. To the Benefactors, well wishers and friends for your generosity through your moral, material and spiritual support to the province. 01

2 Our hear est congratula ons to Fr. Jayaseelan msfs, our young and dynamic provincial elect as he takes over the anima on of the province. We pray that he remains tall, as he is already, above all the difficul es, challenges, cri cisms, issues etc and that he may remain posi ve and op mis c relying on the strength that comes from his daily communion with the Lord, Jesus Christ. Now as I lay down the office which I accepted to serve with the confidence that 'God provides', I pray with you that we con nue to walk the journey together as brothers/confreres in love and unity, placing our total faith in the Lord and our confidence in the new provincial and administra on. For Love is the specific Fransalian way of living our life as msfs following the spirit of our Patron and unity our real strength as brothers living together, following the charism of our Founder. eeing in each other a brother is the deepest union/communion of hearts in the community /province/congrega on. WIH YOU ALL HAPPY FEAT OF AUMPTION AND 70TH INDEPENDENCE DAY OF INDIA FREHER DAY Fransalian seminary celebrated the Freshers' Day on 1st July 2017 with the theme Together We Can. The celebration began with a solemn mass at 6: 30 a.m. The day was celebrated very colorfully with various programs like volleyball match, cultural program and various fun filled activities. The freshers showed their talents and entertained the guests. The day ended with sharing of fellowship meal. READER AND ACOLYTE We acknowledge and appreciate the Brothers who came forward to receive the ministry of Reader and Acolyte on 8th July 2017 at Fransalian eminary Pune. Brothers who received acolyte from Nagpur province are namely ujitminz and Deepak Baa. Brothers who received the ministry of lector are KarbinusTete, Maria Joseph M, Paramchand Nayak, urjit Barla and Anbarasu.A of pune province and anjay Lakra of Nagpur province. Rev Fr.. Vincent Lourduswamy presided over the Eucharistic celebration and preached an inspiring sermon saying, What we receive in these ministries is not of our privilege but an unconditional gift of God for the service of the mother Church, community and the whole humanity. He instructed the brothers regarding their responsibility as ministers of Lector and Acolyte. Brothers were congratulated by provincial, rector and community. 02

3 DIACONATE ORDINATION Bro. Naveen Nirmal received his diaconate ordination on 15th July 2017 at Divine Mercy Church, Pune along with Bro. John Paul belonging to Mill Hill Fathers. The day was blessed with the presence of our Lordship, Rev. Thomas Dabre, Bishop of Pune. He preached an inspiring homily inviting the priests and religious of Pune to come forward to lead the Diocese to greater heights in spirituality and service. He instructed the new deacons regarding their ministries the greater need to be pastors in today's world with the qualities of gentleness in ministry, caring for the faithful and becoming another Christ for the humanity and it is the primary call of the order of Diaconate. The felicitation program was organised in Fransalian eminary followed by fellowship meal. We the Jyothi Darshan Community had the Formal Inauguration of the Academic year on 12th of July 2017 with the Mass to the Holy pirit which began at pm in the evening. The mass began with a procession from the Grotto. Fr. David Ranjith, the Rector of the Jyothi Darshan eminary celebrated the Mass marking the opening of the new Academic year. Fr. Prince on behalf of the community welcomed the new members to the community, extended cordial welcome to all the students and specially the 10 new comers for this year. He extended a hearty welcome to Fr. Ramesh, the newly appointed Vice-Rector and Dean of tudies, Bro. Cajetan Fernandes, the Regent, Fr. Alex Peter, the Parish Priest and Fr. Andrew, the Vocation Promoter and the assistant parish priest of our Parish. Fr. Ramesh preached homily highlighting the purpose of being here in the seminary. He also interpreted the gospel of the day in the context that just as Jesus called his disciples so we too are called to be with the Lord and to be sent out and if only we are prayerful then we can be powerful. After the communion Fr. Andrew prayed for the success of this academic year. After the final blessing all students were blessed by the Priests as the Holy pirit hymns were sung. After the Mass we had the cutting of the cake in the refectory followed by fellowship meal. Fr. David 03

4 rd On 23 July 2017 we had the inauguration of the new presbytery at Our Lady of Good Health Church, Udayapatty, alem. The house was blessed by Most Rev Bp. ingaroyan, the Bishop of alem Diocese and inaugurated by Rev Fr. John Joseph, V.G of alem Diocese. Along with the parishioners the neighboring fathers, brothers and sisters witnessed the event. The programme ended by thanking all the dignitarie. We thank the Provincial and his team for considering to build the presbytery at Udayapatty. Thank you for all your prayerful support as well as the financial support to complete the construction work. A special thanks to Fr. Kennedy the former parish priest for his hard work and dedication in building a beautiful presbytery. Fr. Alex Peter It gave immense pleasure and joy to celebrate the conclusion of the ilver Jubilee year with a deep sense of gratitude on 13th of July The theme chosen for the day was Honouring The Past Let Us Create The Future. His Grace Most Rev Filipe NeriFerrao, Archbishop of Goa and Daman presided over the concelebrated thanksgiving Eucharist along with Fr Vincent Lourduswamy MF, Provincial of Pune Province, Fr George Parampukattil, General Councillor for Education of MF Congregation and the other dignitaries. There was a short closing ceremony program highlighting the success of the institute. uccess has not made us complacent and as we move from a glittering present to a golden future, we look forward towards the next 25 years with loads of aspirations and desires. Looking back at the last 25 years one can see with pride innumerable students who left the portals of this institute not only professionally occupying high positions in society but also as responsible human individuals of society. Truly t. Thomas Higher econdary chool is referred as the pride of Aldona. Today we stand 25 years tall loaded with tons of achievements, achieved down the way which is an outcome of the zeal, enthusiasm, foresight and hard work put in by the management, principals, staff and PTA. 5 The Fransalian Community, Uchgaon thought it appropriate to inaugurate the academic year at of its th Institute "Harmony" by CELEBRATING THE 450 BIRTH ANNIVERARY OF OUR PATRON T. FRANCI DE ALE to be held on 01st and 02nd August The Theme chosen for this seminar was " DE ALE' THEOLOGY & PIRITUALITY FOR PATORAL LEADERHIP". Dr. Fr. Jacob Parappally msfs was the Resource Person. Fr. Vincent Lourduswamy msfs our Provincial was the Chief Guest and Frs. Jayseelan msfs Provincial Elect, Melky Fernandes msfs Parish Priest of Uchgaon (under whose jurisdiction this Institution comes under) Alphonse Irudairaj msfs and antan Gama msfs were the Guests of Honour. Fr. Provincial in his inaugural address exhorted the new Priests to imitate and exemplify the humanness of F. Our uperior General Fr. Abraham Vettuvellil msfs who has been the main inspiration to us choosing this theme, in his message to the Newly Ordained Priests makes a reference to what Pope Francis has consistently during his meetings with the uperiors General in Rome that formation after ordination (continued formation) is more important than the initial formation(seminary formation) His message to the newly ordained priests can be used as points for reflection for our community recollections. The same can be said also of the Message of Fr. Thumma our Assistant uperior General who says that an occasion like this should lead us to a "Re Effect mark which rediscovers, re-iterates, re-appreciates, re-dedicates to and re-appropriates the great Treasures of F Theology & pirituality for our present times". Fr. Mario in his message enlightened the audience about the Confessional Ministry of Bishop Francis de ales, encouraging the newly ordained priest to give as much importance to the sacrament of Reconciliation as to preaching the world of God as the latter should help the listener to the former. Fr. Jayaseelan in His homily invited his younger brothers in the priesthood to look at the possibilities in life as we are created with faculties which are unique from other creatures. The Newly ordained Priests felt that it was a wonderful initiative taken by the community and said they felt enriched. A eminar is being organised for the priests above 65 years reminiscing the MF vocation on 6th and 7th eptember at Harmony, Belgaum. Confreres above 65 years are requested to attend this seminar. 6 Fransalian Gospel Ministry conducted a Live- in Christian leadership training program at Karjat in Carmel Oasis Retreat Centre. The training program was led by Mrs. Mary Kutty (Founder of Christeen), Bro. Cyril John & Team, (Chairman of NCCR). The Program began well with the inauguration ceremony followed by Holy Eucharist presided over by Rt. Rev. Allwyn D'ilva (Auxiliary Bishop Archdiocese of Mumbai ). The program was attended by 50 Participants from various places. The program focused on various aspects nd such as Childrens' training, Teachers training, Pastors Training, etc. On the 2 day of the training program, the Holy Eucharist was presided by Fr.. Vincent Lourduswamy msfs, (Provincial uperior, Pune Province) along with Fr. Jayseelan msfs. (Provincial Elect). The program was well organized and was appreciated by the participants. Bro. Kindly make it a point to let all the people in our ministries and apostolates know of this event by any form. A seminar was organised at Harmony for the newly ordained priests of 2017 of our various province in India, on 1st and 2nd August About 20 newly ordained priests from 5 provinces participated. It was animated by Fr. Jacob Parapally msfs and organized by Harmony. This was the first programme of Harmony for the year. Rev. Peter Machado celebrated Eucharist. Frs. Vincent and Jayaseelan were present. Our heartiest congratulations to the Harmony team. First Annual Retreat of Pune Province will be held in Harmony, Belgaum from 24th August to 29th August Kindly send the names. nd th Pune Provincial Congress will be held from 22 to 26 Oct 2017 at Montford adan,pune. The Provincial Congress of East Africa Province will be held from 22nd -26th eptember. Fr. ahayaraj A has left of the Mission Zambia. Fr. Moison has gone to Bamberg diocese in Germany. Fr.Thomas Mutam has received him. Frs. amuel Rayar and L agairaj are getting ready to go to England and Austria respectively. Exclaustration has been granted to Frs.
