Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 4 Gospel Reading Mark 4: 1-9 Again Jesus began to teach beside the lake. Such a very large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat on the lake and sat there, while the whole crowd was beside the lake on the land. He began to teach them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them: Listen! A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and it sprang up quickly, since it had no depth of soil. And when the sun rose, it was scorched; and since it had no root, it withered away. Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundredfold. And he said, Let anyone with ears to hear listen!. St Peter s concert on 22 nd Sept. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. The evening was a huge success and raised approximately 1000 for Uganda. VOICES FROM THE CHURCHYARD! A walk through St. Peter s Churchyard A chance to hear about some of Formby s interesting and amusing past residents who are buried in St. Peter s Churchyard. Come and meet - The Widow Spanker; Stationmaster John Weatherall; the Oxford explorer Christopher D Aeth; Beryl Banbridge s mother; the last Squire of Formby, John Frederic Formby; Abdullah the Hindoo, cabin boy on the Juno ; the England cricketer who died at Ginchy in the 1 st World War and many others. Plus a few songs from David Davies. Voices from the Churchyard will take place on Friday 5 th October at 7.30pm, and Saturday 6 th October at 3pm and 7pm. Meet at the main door of the church. You may need to bring a torch for the evening performances. There will be refreshments in the Bier House All donations will go to our parish project,

A Celebration of Animals A service of thanksgiving and blessing for pets and working animals. Sunday 30 September 2018 2pm This service is in aid of Wood Green Animal Shelter, The Donkey Sanctuary, The
