1 G-DTN-M-QBMA PALI Paper I ( Literature ) ( Pali Language ) Time Allowed : Three Hours Maximum Marks 300 INSTRUCTIONS Candidates should attempt Question Nos. 1 and 5 which are compulsory, and any THREE of the remaining questions, selecting at least ONE question from each Section. The number of marks carried by each question is indicated at the end of the question. Answers must be written in PALI language in Devanagari or Roman script, unless otherwise directed. Important Note Whenever a question is being attempted, all its parts/sub-parts must be attempted contiguously. This means that before moving on to the next question to be attempted, candidates must finish attempting all parts/sub-parts of the previous question attempted. This is to be strictly followed. So tassa nagarassa samanta anupariyaya patham anukkamamdno na passeyya pakarasandhim va pitkaravivararn va antamaso bilara - nikkhamana-mattampi. Tassa evamassaye kho keci oldrika papa imam nagaram pavisanti va nikkhamanti va, savve te imindva dvarena pavisanti va nikkhamanti vreti. Evameva kho me Bhante! Dhamanvayo vidito ye to Bhante! Addasii kho bhagava yasarn kulaputtam duratova agaechantam, disvana eankama orohitva par-lime tisane nisidi. Atha kho yaso kulaputto bhagavato avidfire udanam udidnesi lthaddutarn vata bho, upassattharp vata bho'ti. Atha kho bhagava yasam kulaputtarp etadavoca Idarp kho yasa, anupaddutant idam anupassattharp. Ehi yasa, nisida, dhammarp to desessamiti. Atha kho yaso kulaputto idam kir anupaddutam, idam anupassatthanti hattho udaggo suvanna-padukahi orohitva yena bhagava tenupasankami, upasankamitva bhagavantam abhivadetvri ekamantam nisidi. Ekamantarp nisinnassa kho yasassa kulaputtassa bhagava anupubbim katham kathesi, seyvathidam danakatham, silakatham saggakatham, kamanarn ddinavam okaram sankilesam, nekkharnme anisansam pakasesi. (c) Idha, gahapati bhikkhu vivicceva kamehi vivicca akusalehi dhammehi savitakkam savieararn vivekajam pitisukham pathamam jhanam upasampajja viharati. So iti pati safieikkhati 'idam pi pathamam jhanarp abhisankhatam abhismicetayitam. Yarn kho pana kinci abhisankhatam abhisafieetayitam tadanicearn nit odharnmattrti pajanati. Ayam pi kho, gahapati, tena bhagavata janata passata arahata sammasambuddhena ekadhammo akkhato yattha bhikkhuno appamattassa atlipino pahitassa viharato avimuttarn ceva cittam vimuccati, apariklchina ca asava parikkhayarn gacchanti, ananuppattam ca anuttararn yogakkhema anupdpunati.
