Series: Book of Matthew June 29, 2014 The Heart of Betrayal Dr. Steve Walker Let's get our Bibles close by and get them open to the gospel of Matthew, chapter 26. We are going through this gospel on Sunday mornings, and we come today to the sobering topic of betrayal. The topic is going to potentially bring up, in our own minds, memories, and hearts, some distant past, some more recent, the emotions that are surrounding this experience of being betrayed. I wonder how many of you have ever known somebody or if there has ever been someone in your life whom you thought you knew. Maybe you even respected them, considered them a close friend, or you even loved them, only to find out the person you thought they were was really nothing. It wasn't really them at all. It may have been someone who indeed did cause you a lot of pain or a lot of sorrow. I'm wondering how that turned out for you. How did you recover from that? Today we're going to meet Judas Iscariot up close and personal. For 2,000 years, that name, Judas, has been synonymous with betrayal. For us who have been in the church for a while, we know him to be notoriously known for setting off the events that led to the crucifixion of the Son of God with a kiss. The irony about Judas really goes back to the beginning. His name actually means God be praised. How's that for irony? I also found myself feeling emotional for his dear parents, who obviously had high hopes for their son, only to be reminded that, as parents, we can do everything we know how to do to set our children up to succeed, but in the end, they do eventually make their own choices, don't they? We don't even know how Judas and Jesus met, really, but we do have record of Jesus choosing the apostles. Of course, Jesus personally chose Judas as one of the original Twelve. I was thinking this week, "Why does God allow someone like Judas to even be in the Bible?" It's kind of an interesting question; isn't it? One of the things I appreciate about our faith, our Christianity, is that, whether we like it or not, all of the dirty laundry of our history is preserved for us in black and white. There has been no editing of the sins of God's people, at least those who we think are God's people. Here's why I Canyon Hills Community Church 1

think God allows Judas to be in the Bible. I think it's because Judas is actually a prototype of all human beings. To some degree, we all have the potential of great evil in our hearts, don't we? Truth be known, none of us is as good on the inside as we try to make others think we are on the outside. We all have a bit of hypocrisy brewing in our own lives, so I don't want this to be a typical message as we get to this point in our redemptive history. I don't want us to be too fast to point the finger at Judas. There are plenty of reasons to do that. Actually, I want us to learn from him. Imagine that. You came to church today to learn from Judas. I think we can. There are some lessons we can learn from him about betrayal, about what's in the heart of a person who betrays. Also, really, more sobering, we may learn a lot about ourselves today. Once we get those lessons done, with our remaining time, I want to talk about how you recover from being betrayed. How in the world do you process that pain? I think, by the time we get through today, we'll have enough to go home with and think about. If you have your Bibles open to Matthew 26, let's go ahead and stand for the reading of his Word. We'll take it up right where we stopped last week. That was in verse 14. "Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, 'What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?' And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray him. Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, 'Where will you have us prepare for you to eat the Passover?' He said, 'Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, "The Teacher says, My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples."' And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the Passover. When it was evening, he reclined at table with the twelve. And as they were eating, he said, 'Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.' And they were very sorrowful and began to say to him one after another, 'Is it I, Lord?' He answered, 'He who has dipped his hand in the dish with me will betray me. The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.' Judas, who would betray him, answered, 'Is it I, Rabbi?' He said to him, 'You have said so.'" God in heaven, it is indeed a sobering experience to remember that we mere humans were able to betray you in such a horrific manner. God, it's hard for us to imagine that you not only allowed this, but you knew it would happen in eternity past. I pray, God, you will help us feel and understand the grave sinfulness of this event. Help us, God, to feel the weight of what you were willing to do, what you were willing to allow your Son to experience so we could be forgiven, so our sins could be removed, so we can put our Canyon Hills Community Church 2

faith in Jesus. God, help us feel the magnitude of emotion and pain that was experienced by Jesus in this moment. God, I pray for those who have been betrayed and even those who have been the betrayer this morning, that today would be the beginning of something new. God, I want to pray for all of the kids and students we have as a church on the mission field. I pray for our over 50 middle schoolers in Mexico right now. I pray that you would use them to spread the gospel in that place that is so desperate. God, help them to be healthy, safe, and courageous. God, raise up from those middle schoolers future pastors, missionaries, and ministers for your cause. God, we want to pray for Pastor Larry and all the leaders who are taking over 50 children on their mission trip to Wenatchee today. For this week, God, we pray the same, that out of this group of children would rise up future generations of your leaders. God, we love you and we give you this time now to do as you please. In Christ, amen. Let's just start with what I think may be the most obvious and painful lesson of betrayal. 1. Betrayal will often come from those closest to us. Don't we know that to be true? That's why it hurts so much. Betrayal seems like it inevitably hurts because we never saw it coming. Judas was in the circle. In verse 14, we're told, right at the beginning, he was one of the Twelve. Out of all the men on the face of the earth, he was one of those whom Jesus chose to be an apostle. In verse 20, we're told Judas is reclining at the table with Jesus at their meal. Some believe he was right next to Jesus in this Last Supper scene so as not to give off any hint of his suspicious behavior. He was right next to Jesus, shoulder to shoulder. In verse 23, we see here that Judas is, in essence, double dipping some bread with Jesus in the bowl. He's sharing a bowl of balsamic vinegar and olive oil right there. It doesn't tell us what it is, but I'm assuming it was. They're just that close, dipping their bread in the same sauce. For three and a half years, Judas walked and talked with him and ministered alongside of Jesus, sharing everything from meals to miracles. He had full access to God's Son. He had an open door to the open heart of our Savior, and he betrays him. It's often the same story with people who betray Jesus today. Don't make the mistake of thinking it's the atheists out there who are doing all the betraying of Jesus. Not at all. Atheists are typically honest in this sense: they are open about their rejection of Jesus, their rejection of God. They're honest about it. Typically, those who betray Jesus are the ones who look all-in to the rest of his followers. Again, that's what makes it so shocking. It's the so-called believer who has been in church for a long time, or at least a long while, and they walk away from true Christianity only to join a cult or a false religion that is anti-everything they have said they believed and understood. It's the pastor who declares, out of nowhere, that Jesus is not the only way anymore, or that the Bible can no longer be trusted. It's that guy, who, for years and years and decades was preaching Canyon Hills Community Church 3

Jesus and now just changes his mind about the whole thing. It's the denomination that blatantly throws away whole pieces of the Bible in order to cater to the sinful screams of the pagan culture just so they can win the culture's approval. It's the choir member, it's the Sunday school teacher, it's the Life Group leader, it's the Christian spouse or college-age kid who walks away from Jesus to pursue an unrepentant, unholy, unbiblical life without God. This is why spiritual betrayal always startles and shocks. You just never expected that. On a more personal or relational level, again, this is why it hurts as well. We don't see it coming. The shock and surprise of who betrays us is actually more devastating than the sadness of the betrayal itself. That's why it's so painful. Betrayal takes your love and trust and stomps on it with a wounding force. That's why they call it betrayal. 2. Betrayal is conceived in selfishness. To get this point, you actually have to go back to last week's passage. If you weren't here last Sunday, I just have to catch you up for a bit. I want you to turn back to the beginning of chapter 26. It says: "When Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples, 'You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.'" Jesus stops and tells them, "I'm going to die here in two days." The next couple of verses are the religious elite who hate Jesus. They're devising, they're scheming on ways to get him killed quickly in secret. In the next few verses, you'll remember from last week, is that famous story of Mary, Martha's sister, who comes into the room with Jesus and the disciples and breaks the seal on an incredibly expensive bottle of perfume and pours it on his head, anointing his whole body, and then pours some on his feet and wipes it away with her hair. We're told the disciples (Judas especially, we're told in the other Gospels) got really nasty about it and got mad at her for doing that because that perfume could have been sold for huge bucks ($40,000 to $50,000 in today's currency) and they could have done a lot of stuff with that money, particularly to the poor. Jesus' response to that is amazing. He says, in verses 11-12, "For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. In pouring this ointment on my body, she has done it to prepare me for burial." Now, like a lot of people, Judas believed the Messiah was coming to overthrow the Roman occupation, and when the Messiah came to do that, he would take a position of power and authority over Israel, in the nation of Israel. In fact, Judas might have been following Jesus because he thought he could have benefited from his sheer association with Jesus if Jesus was the Messiah, no doubt expecting he would be in the inner circle of the new regime Jesus had come to set up. But to Judas at this point, now, where we are today, Jesus was acting less like a leader of a rebellion and more like a defeated pacifist on his way to his death. All he's hearing from Jesus is Canyon Hills Community Church 4

all this crucifixion and death talk, and Judas is thinking to himself, "Wait a minute. You're not who I want you to be." Judas is listening to Jesus after three and a half years and he's finally saying, "This isn't what I signed up for." He wanted Jesus to rebel and overthrow Rome, so when his expectations didn't come true, he turned on Jesus. His selfishness brought out the ugliness in his heart. Again, it's much the same today. Judas just kind of reminds us of how it looks. People today come to Jesus all the time and selfishly want him to be a certain way, don't they? They want a Jesus who will love and accept them but not judge them. People come to Jesus all the time and they want Jesus to get them to heaven but they don't want him to have any expectations or limitations on how they live their lives now, here on earth. People selfishly come to Jesus all the time. They want him to protect them from all the sadness, pain, sickness, uncertainty, and tragedy of life. They want a Jesus who will answer all their prayers and wishes, but they don't want a Jesus who demands our love, devotion, and obedience above all else. As soon as Jesus doesn't deliver what they selfishly want, they turn and walk away. There may be some people in your life who have actually done that and you know the sadness of that betrayal. I think, on a personal level, it works like this too in relationships: the person who betrays you has basically said, "You're not what I was expecting." The betrayer, in so many words, says, "You're in the way now, and you're keeping me from getting to what I really want." The reason it hurts so much to be betrayed is because betrayal takes your self-worth and God-given value and stomps on it with a devastating blow and you feel used. Is it any wonder that betrayal may be the deepest of hurt and emotional pain there is? It's conceived in selfishness. 3. Betrayal is extreme deception and dishonesty. It's deception and dishonesty at its lowest possible level. Judas played the deception game with incredible skill. Outwardly, for three years, he had the behavior of a saint but he had the heart of a devil. Verse 16, after he receives the bribe, says from that moment, he sought an opportunity to betray Jesus. It was no accident. Judas had plotted and planned this for months and months. We don't know how long, but it was quite some time. This was not some spontaneous slipup of character. This was something he deceptively was working on in his heart. In the next part of the passage, we see here that the disciples were sorrowful when Jesus said, "Someone here is going to betray me." The reason Jesus revealed that is because he wanted them to know afterward that, even though he knew, he still went forward with it. They got really sad and they said, "Is it me, Lord? Is it me? Is it me?" A little later, Judas pipes up and goes, "Is it me?" Deceptive, dishonest He knew it was him. He had been plotting it for months. We didn't get this far in the passage, but I want you to look at verses 48-49, which is the most atrocious part of his deceiving, dishonest ways. "Now the betrayer had given them a sign, Canyon Hills Community Church 5

saying, 'The one I will kiss is the man; seize him.' And he came up to Jesus at once and said, 'Greetings, Rabbi!' And he kissed him." Is it any wonder that Jeremiah 17, verse 9, says, "The heart is deceitful above all things "? At some point in the heart and mind of the betrayer, their selfish motives expose how deceptive their hearts really are. The Bible talks so much about the power and evil of deception in a person's life. In Galatians, chapter 6, verse 3, we're told deceivers always start out by deceiving themselves first. They deceive themselves. They convince themselves their deception is right, worth it, or justified. In James, chapter 1, verse 26, we see the deceiver has no filter on their tongue. They'll say anything to continue in their deception. In Titus 1, verse 10, we're told they are empty talkers. Nothing they say is trustworthy. In 2 Timothy, chapter 3, verse 13, we're told deceivers always go from bad to worse, and then we're told that they themselves are easily deceived. Again, the irony in the deceiver is they are the most easily deceived. What makes betrayal so brutal is everything leading up to it becomes a big lie. They've lied to you and they've lied about you. The sad part is it breeds a mistrust and a doubt in your heart that can take a long time to overcome. You start to doubt yourself and you wonder if you'll ever be able to trust anyone again. That's how deep the deceiving wounds of betrayal cut. 4. Betrayal is often motivated by greed. It's not the only motivation for betrayal, but it's a big one. It's often hidden. We see from John's gospel that Judas was in charge of the moneybag for the twelve apostles of Jesus, through their travels and all their ministry. For three and a half years, Judas was the accountant. He was the comptroller. He was the guy who kept the offerings and paid for their food and whatever they needed. Apparently, according to John's gospel, he had been stealing from that money the whole time. What sent Judas over the ultimate edge of betrayal was a bribe. That's what really got it all the way over. If you look back in verses 14-15, it says, "Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, 'What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?' And they paid him thirty pieces of silver." That's all it took. That was it. It was the money. Do you want to know the terrible part about this story? Thirty pieces of silver is a paltry amount of money. I don't know if you know this, but 30 pieces of silver It wasn't like Judas was getting rich off it. It wasn't like setting him up for life at all. The Old Testament tells us if your ox got loose and accidentally gored your neighbor's slave and your neighbor's slave died, you had to pay your neighbor 30 pieces of silver, which tells us Judas didn't value Jesus any more than a common slave in their day. Later on, in chapter 27, we're told when Judas had remorse, changed his mind, came back, and threw the 30 pieces of silver back into the temple where the guys who bribed him were, they took those 30 pieces of silver, and they bought a small plot of land just big enough to bury him. Canyon Hills Community Church 6

That's the sad part to me. It just shows us how deceived Judas was into thinking that little bit of money would have somehow brought him whatever it was he was trying to get. For a lot of betrayal, there's most likely some kind of financial benefit somewhere. I don't even know the names of the TV shows. I know there's at least a couple of TV shows on right now (they're reality shows, kind of like crime type shows) all about linking greed to these incredible displays of crime, distortion, extortion, and ultimately murder. In the show, they always track back to the greed that motivated the betrayal. That fits perfectly with Scripture's warning in 1 Timothy, chapter 6; doesn't it? "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with [much grief]." We've even seen this, sadly, over the years, with some church and ministry leaders, haven't we? Whole national ministries or churches where the pastor, someone on the board, or someone on the staff stole money from the ministry for their own good, the whole time putting on the aura of being there to serve the people It grieves us when we see those stories make it into the public eye. Some of you sitting here, no doubt, have been betrayed by someone who benefited financially from your demise. The reason it hurts so much is not because somehow you were out the money. Yeah, that probably had an effect, but what makes it hurt so much is what was thought to be a trusted and even priceless friendship was turned into something as cheap as money. That's why it hurts the way it does. Greed was what destroyed what you thought was so meaningful, powerful, and good between you and another person or people. 5. Betrayal will have serious consequences for the betrayer. I've lived long enough now where I believe the natural law of returns on betraying innocent people always seems to eventually bring more harm on the betrayer than they ever thought imaginable. The law of reaping and sowing, reaping what you sow, really does apply to the betrayer's life. I want you to look at verse 24, where Jesus is in the middle of this meal and he stops and says, "The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born." When Jesus says this, we get the sense that Judas is about to commit the most spectacular sin that has ever been committed before or since in the history of human beings. He is about to betray God in the flesh so he can be killed. Jesus made it clear that Judas was responsible for his choices and he would be accountable for it. Speaking of the consequences, I want you to turn to chapter 27. Just go ahead a little bit further in Matthew and look at verse 3. "Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying, 'I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.' They said, 'What is that to us? See to it yourself.' And Canyon Hills Community Church 7

throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself." For Judas, the remorse was so much that he couldn't bear it and he committed suicide. I'm actually hoping to teach on the subject of suicide sometime in the future because it presents some questions for us Christians that we have to process biblically. I haven't decided when I can fit that one in, but I'm hoping I'm going to come back to this place in Matthew and talk about that specific subject of suicide before the end of the year, but that's for another time. I want us to see here that Judas paid the price. God will not be mocked, and the betrayer typically finds that out, one way or another. If it's not in this life, it will certainly be before the judgment seat of God. If you want a picture of the wrath of God poured out on those who betray him, just read the book of Revelation and see the seriousness of God as he takes care of justice on those who do these types of things. Let me ask you, have you been betrayed? I hope not. As your pastor, I hope most of you in this room have never gone through that, but I know, with this many people, there are a whole bunch of you who have been betrayed at some level. Here's what we know today. Jesus gets it. There is nobody who understands the pain of betrayal more than Jesus, nobody. He gets the hurt and the pain that comes with that, and he is able to sympathize with you more than anyone else, ever. Knowing that, how do we respond? How do we recover in a way that would bring honor to God and sanity back to us? I'm going to give you some things to remember, and I hope some of these are practical enough that you can put them to use right now, if need be, or someday in the future. Here's what I want you to remember in the context of being betrayed. First, don't ever get trapped by the need for revenge. This may be the most important thing you hear. Don't fall into that demonic, satanic trap that you need to bring pain and suffering upon the person who betrayed you. We find teaching of that in Romans, chapter 12. In verse 17, God's Word says: "Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.' To the contrary, 'if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.' Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." It may feel good for a moment to try to rectify the pain and the hurt you've suffered from betrayal, but it won't last. God promises that peace isn't going to last. You will get your peace by letting God mete out the justice. That peace will be lasting and it will spare you from deeper pain and regret. God says, "That's my department." Do you want to know how you can find relief and peace from the pain? Live at peace, and if you ever have opportunity to do good to that enemy, do it. You'll Canyon Hills Community Church 8

be surprised at how God just absolutely cleanses you from the hurt, anger, and revenge. It's supernatural. Secondly, don't forget God makes all things new. Please don't forget that. God took Judas' betrayal and used it to accomplish his own will and plan. Yes, Judas helped send Jesus to the cross and his death, but on that cross, death and sin were defeated. Amen? That's the part we can't forget. Now God's provision of salvation is freely available to anyone who will put their faith and trust in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells you and says to you, your life and God's purpose for your life is not over because of the betrayal. Your life can be restored. You can be made alive again. You can become stronger and more beautiful as you persevere through the betrayal. I feel this verse, in Romans 8, none of us want to have to apply it to our lives, and yet it provides us with the greatest hope. Romans 8 says: "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son " Nobody likes that verse, really, but there are times in life when we have to cling to that verse with our fingernails because in that verse is the greatest promise of all. God is saying, "I am not letting your life be wasted. I'm not letting the garbage you have gone through count for nothing. I am so powerful and so sovereign that, in the midst of this, you're going to discover I have something even greater for you." Who else can have a promise like that other than children of God? We cling to that hope, that the betrayal is not the end. It may very well be the beginning. I don't say that as a cliché. I say that with every ounce of hope I have. Thirdly, don't forget your worth in God's eyes. It doesn't matter what the betrayer says about you. It doesn't matter how the betrayer made you feel or what he said you are. What matters is what God says you are. You are not damaged. You are not second-class. You are not unlovable material. I feel the emotion in the apostle John when he wrote these words. I feel the lump in his throat as he wrote these words in 1 John, when he said: "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure." John is writing this and he is saying, "Listen. Don't you forget who you are. We are God's children now. That's what we are. Nothing can change that. No one can change that. No amount of betrayal, horrific experience of being treated badly, let down, lied to, and deceived will ever take that away from you. You belong to God. You are his." I love that he says, "Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be hasn't happened yet, but when he appears " He's talking about Jesus. "What's going to happen at that Canyon Hills Community Church 9

moment " He's trying to get our eyes off of the immediate, and he's saying, "You don't forget, when Jesus shows up, you are instantaneously going to be freed from the presence, power, and all the penalty of sin. You are going to be made new with a brand-new, eternal, glorified body, and he is going to recognize you as his own, and he is going to save you, and you are going to sit down at the right hand of the throne of God with Jesus Christ and you are going to be there as close to God as you could possibly be, forever. That's how valuable you are." That place, to the right of God's throne, is reserved for you. It may mean you just have to dwell there for a minute and be reminded that if God thinks that of you, that he would send his Son to suffer, die, and be betrayed so you can become his child through faith in Jesus, he must think the universe of you. Wallow in that for just a little bit. Lastly, don't forget that no position of honor can substitute for personal faith in Jesus Christ. You can teach. You can sing in the choir. You can serve on a church committee. You could remember all kinds of Bible verses, but you are still lost forever if you have not surrendered your whole heart and put all of your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Savior. You can't have a Savior without having him be your Lord. It could be the reason you're here right now is because it's not real. It looks like it on the outside, but God wanted you to be confronted with your own heart today. Maybe God has you here today because he wants you to know if you will repent, surrender, and just give up playing the game, he will forgive you of that, cleanse you from unrighteousness, and draw you in to himself to be his child. It may be right now that you are just a big, fat phony, and really, the only people who know that are you and God. I want to invite you to not live like that anymore. It is a miserable way to live out your fate. It's terrible. Repent of that and get real. Surrender everything, starting with your own heart. It's very clear that the Bible shows us Judas never trusted Jesus. I don't want that to be the case for any of you. Right over here, at the end of our service, there are going to be some people there who would love to talk to you about what it means to give up, surrender, and say, "Okay, I'm putting all of my trust and faith in you. I'm going to live the rest of my life the way you want me to live it." If you want to know more about what that means and how that looks, we would love to have that conversation with you, but before we go there, I'm going to ask everyone to bow their heads, just for a minute. Father in heaven, I see the tears in this room. More importantly, you see the tears in this room, tears that are from way back. The pain of betrayal is still so raw. God, I pray for them now that you will give them a sense of relief and release, that you will let them rest in your justice, and that you will remind them of their worth and that you can, you will, and you may already have begun to make all things new for them. God, meet them in this place, I pray. Give them hope that you see and you understand and you are not ignoring it. Canyon Hills Community Church 10

God, I pray for those tears in this room that are much more recent. I pray for them, God, with all my heart. I pray for them that you would meet them in this place and that you would rescue, make whole, and begin that amazing work of conforming into the image of your Son. God, I pray you would wrap your arms around them and walk with them every minute of every day, giving them your strength, hope, and peace. God, I pray for any in this room who have betrayed someone else. I pray, God, that if they have repented, they will, today, believe, know, and completely relish in your forgiveness. I pray, God, that they will not take those sins back but that they will indeed rejoice that you have cleansed them and made them new. God, I have a feeling there are people in this room who are too close to Judas. Their motives have been exposed today, maybe even in the midst of betraying someone close to them. I pray, God, you would so convict them of their sin that you will stop them in their tracks today and bring them to utter and total brokenness and repentance for your glory and for their own good. God, thank you for putting Judas in the Bible. Thank you for what we learn from him and what we learn about you. We pray all these things in Jesus' name, amen. I do want to remind you that if any of you want to talk about what it means to be born again and to have Jesus as your Savior, we'll be right over here. We're also over there to pray with you if there are other things going on in your life that just seem maybe a little too heavy to carry this week. We'd love to pray for you and try to lift that burden with you. Also, if you're thinking you want this to be your church home and you haven't taken that step yet, we'd love to see you at our Discover Canyon Hills membership class in a couple of weeks.
