1 Our Scientific God By Dr. Dan Cheatham Human Body Matter> Cells> Chromosomes> Molecules (incl DNA and RNA nucleotides)> Atoms> Neutrons + Electrons + Protons> Quarks> Leptons + Fermions> Muons + Tau Particles> Gauge Bosons> Standby for more discoveries! When will it ever end? A little discovery or knowledge doesn t make you God! Well, brother Dan, this atomic stuff as stated above is A LOT OF DISCOVERY in just 100 years! True, in one sense, but... Not actually! God is so very big and smart that we can never come to the end of discovery, not macroscopically or microscopically! It will take all eternity to come to the end of God and His science, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, engineering, architecture, art, music, and the like. Can you say, SCIENCE TO THE POWER OF INFINITY? Yes, our God is that Big! Who can but praise Him and thank Him? Who can but bow in worship? Who can but come before Him in humble adoration? 2 Simultaneously God is so good He allows men to discover things that they might seek Him and know Him and enjoy the benefits of all He s created! Daniel 12:4 (KJV) - 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end (now): many shall run to and fro (land travel, air travel, internet travel, globalization), and knowledge (scientific discoveries, college degrees, spiritual revelations) shall be increased....parentheses are my added commentary. God doesn t do everything DIRECTLY or SOVEREIGNLY. He partners with mankind both naturally and spiritually! God does most things INDIRECTLY through people. Just like the INCARNATION of Christ into Mary s womb, God likes to INCARNATE ideas, discoveries and inventions into men and women... even into unregenerate men and women. Why? Because He s good! Proverbs 8:12 (KJV) - 12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. Man is meant to be a Vice-Regent with God. Man is designed to return thanks to his Designer. But SIN blinds man to God, to the eternal significance of his own knowledge, discoveries and inventions, and even about himself. We are often SMART but BLINDED too! That these two conditions can co-exist is everywhere seen among humanity. We possess college degrees but often lack common sense, discretion and real wisdom. We honor one another with accolades and trophies and medals. At the same time, we FAIL ALTOGETHER to honor God who made us all! Imagine that! SIN! Page 2 of 12

3 I hope Steve Jobs accepted Christ after all and made it to Heaven, but I doubt it. Gandhi didn t make it there. Darwin didn t make it there unless he repented on his death bed, and of course, he may have. Who knows? Einstein probably didn t make it either! I realize it s only natural for everyone to want anyone else they admire to go to Heaven, but sorry, it just doesn t work that way... thus saith Jesus... and thus saith the entire Bible! People wait and wait and wait... and then it s too late, too late, too late! Consider the true story of the rich man and Lazarus. Matthew 20:16 (KJV) for many be called, but few chosen. What you and I WANT THINGS TO BE are often NOT AT ALL the way things really are! Ouch! Page 3 of 12

4 Everywhere, and always... and in all things... mankind is a contradiction and a study in both brilliance and stupidity! Can anyone say, ME TOO, at least sometimes? It is a matter of record that men possess many beautiful attributes of their Creator AND also many characteristics of Satan all at once... to varying degrees between both ends of the spectrum! Can you say, CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE? This is the dilemma all of us face. But Jesus faced it squarely in our stead, once and for all, and did the doublenegative on SIN... becoming sin for us while hanging on the cross! And in thus doing, He turned it all into one GREAT BIG POSITIVE! O the wonder of Redemption through His blood! Miracle of miracles! Page 4 of 12

5 God expects us to connect the dots, so to speak, when it comes to science and Himself. Any other conclusions fly in the face of God. If true science and God s Word APPEAR to conflict, contradict or collide, they DON T! Period! Submit to this fact in your mind ahead of time! Poor man just has missing information! Of course, there is such a thing as false science, like global warming (man-made climate change) and evolution (Darwinism), and many other false sciences that end in damning men to hell and/or keeping people in bondage and inferiority while on earth. 1 Timothy 6:20 (KJV) - 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called. 6 GOD IS SCIENTIFIC. GOD IS HIGH-TECH. GOD IS BOTH ANALOG & DIGITAL. GOD IS ELECTRONIC & ELECTRICAL. GOD IS ARTISTIC TO SAY THE LEAST. GOD IS AN ENGINEER. GOD IS MULTI-LINGUAL. GOD IS A PHYSICIST. GOD IS A CHEMIST. GOD IS ARCHITECTURAL. GOD IS MEDICAL. GOD IS A SURGEON. GOD IS AN AUTHOR. Page 6 of 12

7 GOD IS A CRAFTSMAN. GOD IS A STYLIST. GOD IS A CASHIER. GOD IS AN INVESTOR. GOD IS A SOLDIER. GOD IS A WEALTH-BUILDER. GOD IS METEOROLOGICAL. GOD IS BOTANICAL. GOD IS A GEOLOGIST. GOD IS A MATHEMATICIAN. GOD IS... (Can you think of more?) GOD IS MUCH MORE ALL THESE THINGS THAN WE ARE! (Duh?) Page 7 of 12

8 We re not such SMART HOT-SHOTS after all, are we? Not so MACHO and STRONG either. Only complete, reckless, and abandoned dependence on God can give us real SMARTS and real STRENGTH to finish our course! O how I run to Him! I run to His Throneroom and literally throw myself into His loving arms! Safety is only here! My Father is embracing me and holding me safe and secure. Music can facilitate and even enhance praise and worship. But Music itself is NOT praise and worship. Praise & Worship is an attitude and action of the heart towards God! Music can be used to glorify God. Music can be used to glorify man. Music can be used to glorify itself. Music can be used to glorify sin and Satan. You choose. I choose. And how you choose greatly impacts your rewards or lack thereof in Heaven. You only have a few years to make your music count for Him, if that! Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, and the Beatles will not receive any gold records in Heaven. Better get to using music for what it was originally intended for! Such a shame to waste human creativity on one s self and for mere fortune and fame. Page 8 of 12

9 Each man must give an account to His Creator, even sinners who care nothing about Him. (O yes, each and every one will bow... if not now voluntarily... then later involuntarily by force!). No one is getting away with anything. Payday cometh! The Lord is near! Judgment day is so very real! And sooner than we think! There is so much more than we can SEE. There is so much more than we can FEEL. There is MUCH LONGER than we can envision... and MUCH SHORTER than we can comprehend. The only way to connect with MUCH LONGER, what you CANNOT SEE, and what you CANNOT FEEL is by faith in what God says in His Word! Connect you can! Just connect! Now, please. You must START WITH THE WORD OF GOD before you add SCIENCE and DISCOVERY! (This is the sinister problem with public education, by the way! Leave God out, and you get generations without God... and without wisdom! You think placing your little angel in church for an hour each Sunday can counter no less than 30 hours a week in a God-Free or a God-Hostile zone? Think again, my friend, think again! We have ole godless Horace Mann to thank for such godlessness in starting public/government education which is NOT authorized by scripture.) Proverbs 1:7 (KJV) - 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 9:10 (KJV) - 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Page 9 of 12

10 God doesn t just know what the future holds. He s already there... right now. And He s here too. And He s way back there. Tilt!!! Exodus 3:14 (KJV) - 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Ecclesiastes 3:14-15 (KJV) - 14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. 15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past. We must remember that Time, Space and Matter were created by God... for us. It is our framework to live in, so to speak, not His! God Himself lives BOTH outside time, space and matter; but also, inside it when it comes to His dealings with us. He even lives both outside and inside eternity! My EIB (Educated Idiot Box) just CANNOT comprehend all this. But my heart CAN worship! And my heart CAN agree with God even when my finite mind just locks up! Some have stated, based on a certain scripture, that God comes from eternity. And I understand what they re trying to get at. But actually... eternity comes from God! God is either ALL IN ALL or He is NOT God. Eternity dwells in the person of God. Science doesn t DISPROVE GOD S WORD. Rather God s Word disproves science if it is false, and approves it when it s true. Let s not get the cart before the horse. God doesn t need science to prove His existence and neither do you! It s nice when the two confirm one another, but not necessary. If a man were to wait until he feels all scientific knowledge now confirms God s existence, he might be waiting until he is dead and burning in hell. Page 10 of 12

11 You CONTACT GOD by faith in what His Word, the Bible, says. You CONTACT time, space and matter that God created for this present life by default of being born and by discovery. FAITH IS MAN S SIXTH SENSE!!! The evidence of His presence far outweighs the so-called proofs of His absence!...mike Murdock Romans 1:20-21 (AMP) - 20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification], [Ps 19:1-4.] 21 Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened. Page 11 of 12

12 Romans 3:3-4 (AMP) - 3 What if some did not believe and were without faith? Does their lack of faith and their faithlessness nullify and make ineffective and void the faithfulness of God and His fidelity [to His Word]? 4 By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say, and prevail when You are judged [by sinful men]. [Ps 51:4.] When SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY seem to come to an end for what they can do for you, no problem! GOD CAN STEP IN AND OVERRIDE THE NATURAL ORDER OF THINGS! First, because He is Sovereign! Second, because He is Supernatural. And third, because He loves you intensely! HE LOVES YOU! Bottom line. I m afraid I ve got a long way to go when it comes to worshipping God for as big as He really is! But I m at least on my way. WORSHIP I WILL! Page 12 of 12
