1 JANUARY 1 Learning to Walk Again May your creed be for you as a mirror. Look at yourself in it, to see if you believe everything you say you believe. And rejoice in your faith each day. St. Augustine That first time you toddled across a room was the beginning of you learning to walk. It helped you understand gravity and motion, and the certainty of landing safely in your mother s arms. Since then, life has sent you out walking on your own and it still seeks to know what you really believe. Do you believe you have value and that you can become even more of what God intended? Do you believe you can land safely in His arms? Today, walk over to your mirror and see the woman standing there. Remind her that each day of this new year she will be loved and valued by God. Once you believe that, you can walk worthy of the Lord. It will be a great year! What does the Lord your God ask of you but to walk in obedience to Him, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 10:12 NIV Lord, thank You for seeing me right where I am and for blessing my walk with You.

2 JANUARY 2 You ve Got What It Takes! Love not what you are, but what you may become. Miguel de Cervantes Most of us start a new year by creating some kind of resolution. We resolve that we will shape up and do things in a better way. We ll eat better, save more, and live more fully. Deep down, we know we can become more than we are right now. God knows that too. God wants to encourage your walk with Him. That means He s fully prepared to help you with those resolutions as long as you re willing to put Him in the midst of them. He wants your mind, your body, and your spirit to become fully alive and fully engaged in all you can be. As a woman of worth, you re alive in the Spirit of the Living God. You are a force to be reckoned with because your strength comes from Him. Grasp His hand everywhere you walk today. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 NKJV Lord, I resolve to be more aware of You in every aspect of my life.

3 JANUARY 3 Feeling Good, Feeling God s Love! Martin Luther was once asked, Do you feel that you are a child of God this morning? And he answered, I cannot say that I do, but I know that I am. As women, we tend to give a lot of credit to how we feel about things. We often decide what we will or won t do, solely based on how we feel. The problem is that our feelings continually change. One day we may feel very worthy of God s love and the next day, wonder why He cares about us at all. Fortunately for us, His love is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means we can count on it all the time! Emotions are a beautiful God-given thing and they serve us well. The beauty of God s love though is that it is based on fact, not feelings. He loves us! Doesn t that make everything in life more worthwhile? We have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 NKJV Lord, help me to feel Your love each day, and when I don t, help me to know for sure that it is still there.

4 JANUARY 4 Walking in the Right Direction O Lord, forgive what I have been, sanctify what I am, and order what I shall be. Thomas Wilson Thomas Wilson s prayer may well be our own. After all, as we begin a new year and strive to walk in the right direction, we recognize that we may well need some forgiveness. The kind of forgiveness we need may come from shattered dreams, or harsh words. It may come from a lack of good judgment or simply not doing the right thing. The fact is that we can start again and forgiveness helps us get there. God sees you right now, right where you are and nothing pleases Him more than when you come close to Him and seek His guidance and His blessing on your life. He wants to give you the tools you need to build a stronger character and become the woman He knows you to be. Change your shoes, change your pace, step out in faith in a new way and give God a chance to help you walk more closely with Him today. Let us walk properly, as in the day. Romans 13:13 NKJV Lord, I will follow You! Help me to seek Your guidance in all things this year.

5 JANUARY 5 If You ve Been Walking on the Wild Side We all want progress, but if you re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the one who turns back soonest is the most progressive. C. S. Lewis One of the lessons we all need to learn when it comes to becoming a woman of worth is to stop looking at where we ve been and start looking at where we want to be. The life of a Jesus follower is not about being perfect, but about being forgiven. It s not about getting it right every time, it s about getting back on track as quickly as possible when we take the wrong turn. We all make wrong choices or do foolish things. That doesn t change God s love for us. When we seek His help, what changes is our love for Him. With greater love comes the desire to transform our lives and try to do better next time. If you ve been walking on the wild side, step up your game and ask God to help you change. He s there for you, always has been always will be! God has said, Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 NIV Lord, I know I ve made some pretty poor choices in my life. Please help me get back on the path You want for me.

6 JANUARY 6 Not Quite Walking on Air When you put your hand in God s hand, you will never walk alone. Woodrow Kroll No matter what we hope to become, we have to start with where we are. We can wonder what it really means when we hear others talk about their walk with the Lord. We can imagine they must have something we don t, or that God must prefer them over us. We can feel simply like we re limping along. We want to become more, but it seems like too big a job. As you begin this new year and this new chapter of your life, imagine yourself holding God s hand. Picture yourself walking side by side with the Creator of the Universe, sharing your stories, loving each step you take together. If you can simply let your imagination soar, it may not be long at all until you truly are walking on air. God always imagines the very best for you and that s all He sees. God can see what is in people s hearts. And He knows what is in the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit speaks to God for His people in the way God wants. We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love Him. Romans 8:27-28 NCV Dear Lord, I know I just seem to be limping along the path of life, not really up to speed with what You want from me. Please help me to desire to walk on air with You.
