Mar en Dear Family, Soon after I returned to Washibgton I made a report on Master's activities and plans. I had this report transcribed and now I am sending it to you so that you may understand His plans and thoughts for the coming months and years. The report follows with the major points preceded by numbers. FAMILY MEETING, MARCH 16, 1972 Farley came back last night, after being away for two months. For him it was a life-giving experience to really get to know our Leader. He spoke to the family about his impressions and reported on those two months: Our Leader is really a bringer of life. I myself am tremendously grateful to Him, like I have really fotmd a true father. The Pioneers also feel so desirous to accomplish for our Leader after having spent these two months in close contact with him. He said the last day: "The American spirit is so high, so eager. Now we have accomplished. In the beginning I had to drag people along." It's true. He churned energy. In New York people were sleeping lllltil 8:00. At 6:00 he got up and stomped arolllld the house yelling "Get up! Get up! Get out of bed! 11 People wondered how they would live with so little sleep. That was nothing. Many times they got anly four hours sleep. People grew to be able to meet the demands with positive desire and confidence. I think it was this deeper change he was referring to when he said now you are ready to go. Here are some things I want you to know. Later you may ask questions. l. Now we are truly a nationwide movement. Representatives have been sent to all the 48 continental states. The bus teams left yesterday, with David Kim going the southern route with Perry Cordell as his right hand man, and Miss Kim going the northern route in the yellow bus with Joseph helping her. MASTER'S PROGRAM FOR THE U.S. AND HOW HE VIEWS THE U.S. 2. Now He is fulfilling three 7-year courses which began in The first 7-year course was the family cross. He had to restore the family; had to establish the truly God-centered family. Many things had to be worked out between Him and Mother. It doesn't happen just by being married. From 1968 He feels the scope of His mission expanded to the national level. He wants to fulfill in Korea by the end of To this end He sent out the blessed wives, and must win the Christian churches which are in the Cain position to our Unification Church which is Abel. His central concern is to restore one nation to God. This is the key to restoring the world. The full page add in the N.Y. Times had quite an effect. There is an interesting story about it. The day before we put the add in the paper a pl'ofessional advertiser came to Farley and said that the add was not good, that people today in America couldn't relate to the Day of Hope, the Day of True Family, that only our group
felt there was any meaning to these phrases. But Farley felt we should keep the add as it was. Because of this add there were big stories in papers saying that only three Koreans have run full page adds. Someone I don't know, Kim Il Sung, and Sun Myung Moon. There were big stories about the add, about Master's activities here. So the work here in America stirred interest in Korea, and controversy. He is also making a movie of his work here in America and Europe and will show it to interested people in Korea. It will be good publicity to show Him talking at the Lincoln Center, to Pearl Buck who is well known in Korea, and talking with Senators. They will begin to understand his importance and influence. From 1975 will begin the international level, the world wide level. He wants to expand our work to 120 nations to do this. So by 1981 he wants to have fulfilled everything for the foundation. A three year extension may be possible which would bring it up to This is twelve years away! He does not see the restoration 50 years or some indefinite time away, but 12 years! 3. The bus teams will be going out under the name of the One World Crusade, Inc., sponsored by the UC. Thue, we are going to incorporate a new organization. People who believe in our ideals and concerns can be members, even though they don I t fully accept the Principle. Eventually He wants the buses (planes) going from nation to nation. But this can only be when there are representatives in 120 countries. 4. In 1975 people will be sent out to the remaining nations of the 120. WHO? He wants to send Americans because we are the melting pot. He wants to send people back to the nations of their heritage. To prepare for this third 7-year course He is making this third world tour. 5. We are beginning a three-year course in America: 1972, 73, and 74. By that time He wants 50 buses in 50 states carrying 2000 members. WHY? This last fall I felt despair over America, the whole world situation, the morality. What I understand now is that Our Leader really wants to work here; God really wants to work here. God still loves America; I hadn't felt that. But I know it's true. I feel that at all cost and overcoming all the difficulties, God really wants to love this nation. Our Leader continually discusses plans; what He would do if certain things didn't work, etc. How to save this nation and use it for this world. He isn't going to give up on this nation. This is really the place where He is turning His thoughts and concern. First He concentrated on Korea, then on Japan, and now comes the U.S. So we have to be ready. He is coming back in October. Between now and October, there is a mountain of work. I want to do that work. I want to stand triumphant when he comes and say "Father, this is what we have fulfilled of your plan." 6. He wants each center to triple its membership. If we how have 60 members, then we should have 180 members within one year. N.Y. with 30 members should have 90. We must not think, can I do it, but HOW can I do it! Think positively about how to accomplish this goal. 7. Out of this tripled membership, he wants each center to contribute its present number of members to the bus teams. It will not be all at once, however, but in time intervals of 3 months. We will get two more buses in three months, which will be led by John Schuhart and Joseph. Now each bus is responsible for 24 states. At the rate of visiting each center a week, each center will be visited only twice a year. So if we get two more bus teams, each center will be covered twice as much. In six months time we should have
four more buses so each center will be visited four times as much. will give support and power to the people in centers who are alone. a great stir of p blicity everywhere they go. The bus teams They will create Our Leader kept thinking how we could work in this country. We must get 50 buses traveling in 50 states of the union, then we will have begun to deal with this great country. When we want to make a great impact somewhere, we will gather all 50 of our buses in one place. If we find a place which is liberal or pro-comrmmist we will threaten to send all of our 50 buses there. The five itinerant workers were also placed in their areas. Betsy will have the Northeast; Becky, the West; Marie, the Plains states; Hilly, the South, and Diane, the Midwest. Most of them were placed in areas where they came from or have spent much time in. Q ljestions: What foundational things must be accomplished for the foundation in Korea? Our Leader does not specifically say. He has to receive the inheritance of the Christian Churches. For the world: He wants four nations on the world wide level: Korea, Japan, U.S., and Germany. If we win these nations the whole world will come to us. What will the bus teams do? All the Pioneers have been trained in PR work. The state representatives will know when the bus teams are coming and they will start publicity under the name of the One World Crusade. The teams will then witness and teach in the cities, also probably sell pamphlets. How was the revival in Berkeley? Through the sixth city it was a struggle. Attendance was not as great as we had hoped. Six is Satan's number. Master even said that in the first six cities he did not feel well, had a fever, etc., but in Berkeley He felt in good health. In Berkeeey, there were not enough seats; the program had to be postponed because the people were still pouring in. Each night was a full house. So the Pioneers felt "at last, Victory. 11 They finished with the feeling of having triumphed. How were people picked for the states? Master had the pioneers vote for the people they thought would be the best state representatives. He got about 40 names from that and subtracted some who did not want to be in states and added others who did. Finally, they wrote the names of the states on pieces of paper and just picked one. Our Leader gave them all money; he provided for his children. Will they work? a. As Master said, they will work 8 hours for God perday; they will be employed by heaven, witnessing, teaching. Beyond that they may work for money. The goal for each state representative is one person per month, or 12 members by next year. Every person in the established centers who is working at a full time job must contribute $70 a month to a special fund through which we will support the missionaries.
If a person is working only half time, then he must contribute $35. So we are facing great financial struggles in the coming months and years. We must work hard and develop good businesses, new ways of getting money. With money we will be able. to do many things. Master says He understands the financial situation of our family. He isn't holding us responsible for great amounts of money. We should do spiritual work. Beyond what we make, he will give us support; we must give him people to work. I will tell you the attitude I want everyone to have from now on. This is the great lesson I_ have learned. I really want you to digest it. The lesson is that each of us can be the master of our life and can control the fates. So many times we set a goal as individuals or as a movement, and something interferes. "Because of this I couldn't accomplish it." Everytime you set out to do something, so ething will interfere. I can guarantee that. That's the test. Life is a great creative process. We are responsible as Lords of Creation. We must become Lords through creating ways of controlling situations so that we reach the goal we want to reach. I know we all have infinite power to do it if only we think that way--not "Can I do it?" but "HOW can I do it?" "I must find the way." This is the way our Master thinks. He is never defeated. If he is blocked this aay, he comes in that way. Positive, faithful, confident thinking. He constantly stressed you must have confidence. Don't you want to have confidence? YES! How can you have confidence as an individual? You can't have it in a void. The only way is you must do it one level at a time. As you constantly do what you really want to do, do what you feel you should do, you become a confident, powerful, and free person. Then also many times He said the melting point between God and man is God's love. God wants to love man, and man hungers for God's love. God can't love you unless you love yourself. "Oh, I am a powerless person; I can't do this, I can't do that." Like that how can you feel God's love? You have to be able to approve of yourself. I am good, capable. You all have power to be that way. But you have to do things to enable you to feel that way. We are setting a goal of tripling our membership. After one year, wouldn't it be good to say this is what we have done? Then you can receive God's love, then you can feel triumphant. Then you can taste it. We must fulfill the things life is requiring of us, and life now for us is the UC and the restoration of America. God chose you, but you have chosen also. Don't you want to be here? YES. Now you really have to choose and overcome difficuliies. This is the way we can succeed. toss out negative thinking; think HOW we can overcome. The central problem in America is self concept. People think badly of themselves. It may be justified by our ramily experiences, but to not make ourselves negative about ourselves, we have to do things which will make us positive about ourselves. Then you stand free. It is restoration. This past fall was a miserable time for me. I just had this feeling life was too much, this responsibility is too much. Now I know it isn't too much; I am powerful and capable and I am determined to do my part. So now in Washington in the coming weeks, I want to set up a headquarters staff. Now more than ever we need a good staff, with 48 centers and two buses. I want headquarters to shine like the sun, and the centers to be like moons. We want to empower them beyond their own abilities; help them do much more than they could do by themselves. I am going to do my part, are you going to do yours? YES! That is the end of the report. There are a few more things I would like to tell you, however.
l. Every center should send a list of all people who are working and who will therefore contribute the $70. Send the list by the end of March noting their pledged contribution and the first contribution. 2. Centers will have financial difficulties, so we must begin doing solicitations, and fund raising. Travis Jones will be sending out letters telling about the candle selling which has been so successful here. 3. This money will all be over and above normal monthly contributions. The regular expenses of headquarters will continue and probably increase. 4. We will definitely buy 2 more buses in 3 months and fill them with 80 members. Each center will contribute 1/4 of its present membership. 5. The itinerant workers will leave April 15. We are oow entering a whole new dimension in our American movement and undertaking a great campaign. Let's really pray hard, think positively, work hard, and be victorious. In our True Parents, Farley Jones
