1 Bible Deuteronomy 28:2-6 Deuteronomy 28: Success All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: You will be blessed in the city and in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. Deuteronomy 30:9 Ecclesiastes 3:13 Ecclesiastes 5:19 Isaiah 30:23 Isaiah 65:21-23 Jeremiah 29:11 Job 22:24-25 Job 22:28 Joshua 1:8 Proverbs 8:18-19 Proverbs 15:6 Proverbs 16:9 Proverbs 22:4 Psalm 1:3 Psalm 112:3 Then the Lord your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your land. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil this is the gift of God. It is very good if a man has received wealth from the Lord, and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and to accept your lot in life that is indeed a gift from God. He will also send rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful. In that day your cattle will graze in broad meadows. They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be they days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands. They will not toil in vain or bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the Lord, they and their descendants with them. I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. And assign your nuggets to the dust, your gold of Ophir to the rocks in the ravines, then the Almighty will be your gold, the choicest silver for you. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and prosperity. My fruit is better than gold even fine gold, and my tield than choice silver. The house of the righteous contains great treasure, but the income of the wicked brings them trouble. The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life. They are like trees growing beside a stream, trees that produce fruit in season and always have leaves. Those people succeed in everything they do. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

Success is sweet and sweeter if long delayed and gotten through many struggles and defeats. We climb to heaven most often on the ruins of our cherished plans, finding our failures were successes. For true success ask yourself these four questions: Why? Why not? Why not me? Why not now? You are wholly complete and your success in life will be in direct proportion to your ability to accept this truth about you. Success is a journey not a destination. The doing is usually more important than the outcome. Not everyone can be Number 1. Character is more important than intelligence for success. Success is full of promise till one gets it, and then it seems like a nest from which the bird has flown. The most successful men in the end are those whose success is the result of steady accretion. It is the man who carefully advances step by step, with his mind becoming wider and wider -- and progressively better able to grasp any theme or situation -- persevering in what he knows to be practical, and concentrating his thought upon it, who is bound to succeed in the greatest degree. Good leaders make people feel that they're at the very heart of things, not at the periphery. Everyone feels that he or she makes a difference to the success of the organization. When that happens people feel centered and that gives their work meaning. The toughest thing about being a success is that you've got to keep on being a success. Very often we are our own worst enemy as we foolishly build stumbling blocks on the path that leads to success and happiness. When all is said and done, success without happiness is the worst kind of failure. Success doesn't mean the absence of failures; it means the attainment of ultimate objectives. It means winning the war, not every battle. The first and most important step toward success is the feeling that we can succeed. To guarantee success, act as if it were impossible to fail. Men judge us by the success of our efforts. God looks at the efforts themselves. Success is a state of mind. If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success. The man who succeeds above his fellows is the one who early in life, clearly discerns his object, and towards that object habitually directs his powers. Even genius itself is but fine observation strengthened by fixity of purpose. Every man who observes vigilantly and resolves steadfastly grows unconsciously into genius. I honestly think it is better to be a failure at something you love than to be a success at something you hate. Never lose sight of the fact that the most important yardstick of your success will be how you treat other people -- your family, friends, and coworkers, and even strangers you meet along the way. The person who goes farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare. The sure-thing boat never gets far from shore.

Edison Bernard Edmonds Albert Einstein Ralph Waldo Emerson G. Emmons Benjamin F. Fairless Art Fettig Ernest A. Fitzgerald Malcolm S. Forbes Franki Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. No matter what you do, do it to your utmost. I always attribute my success to always requiring myself to do my level best, if only in driving a tack in straight. I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody. I can't imagine a person becoming a success who doesn't give this game of life everything he's got. If I've got correct goals, and if I keep pursuing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing right, I'm going to succeed. The secret of success is consistency of purpose. To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you. When a man has done his best, has given his all, and in the process supplied the needs of his family and his society, that man has made a habit of succeeding. The measure of success is not whether you have a tough problem to deal with, but whether it's the same problem you had last year. One might think that the money value of an invention constitutes its reward to the man who loves his work. But speaking for myself, I can honestly say this is not so... I continue to find my greatest pleasure, and so my reward, in the work that precedes what the world calls success. To dream anything that you want to dream. That's the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself to test your limits. That is the courage to succeed. Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value. To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. One principle reason why men are so often useless is that they divide and shift their attention among a multiplicity of objects and pursuits. What is the recipe for successful achievement? To my mind there are just four essential ingredients: Choose a career you love, give it the best there is in you, seize your opportunities, and be a member of the team. When I am delivering my very best, then that is when I feel successful. The real winners are not those at the top but those who have come the farthest over the toughest roads. Your victory may never make the headlines. But you will know about it, and that's what counts. Success follows doing what you want to do. There is no other way to be successful. My definition of success is total self acceptance. We can obtain all of the material possessions we desire quite easily, however, attempting to change our deepest thoughts and learning to love ourselves is a monumental challenge. We may achieve success in our business lives but it never quite means as much if we do not feel good inside. Once we feel good about ourselves inside we can genuinely lend ourselves to others.

Your momentum will then produce ten units of results with each unit of effort. When you are making a success of something, it's not work. It's a way of life. You enjoy yourself because you are making your contribution to the world. Successful people are successful because they form the habits of doing those things that failures don't like to do. Apparent failure may hold in its rough shell the germs of a success that will blossom in time, and bear fruit throughout eternity. Success and failure are both difficult to endure. Along with success come drugs, divorce, fornication, bullying, travel, meditation, medication, depression, neurosis and suicide. With failure comes failure. Success gravitates toward those who are perceived to be successful. Regardless of how you feel within, you must emanate success if you want to attract people to your cause. Every person who wins in any undertaking must be willing to cut all sources of retreat. Only by doing so can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a burning desire to win -- essential to success. Most great people have attained their greatest success just one step beyond their Patience, greatest persistence failure. and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success. Success in highest and noblest form calls for peace of mind and enjoyment and happiness which comes only to the man who has found the work he likes best. There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures. We claim that any man who is honest, fair, tolerant, kind, charitable, and well-behaved is a success. No matter what his station in life. To be successful, you must decide exactly what you want to accomplish, then resolve to pay the price to get it. I feel that the most important requirement in success is learning to overcome failure. You must learn to tolerate it, but never accept it. The only success worth one's powder was success in the line of one's idiosyncrasy. what was talent but the art of being completely whatever one happened to be? I've missed over 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot... and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. Failure is only postponed success as long as courage coaches ambition. The habit of persistence is the habit of victory. Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties. Your chances of success are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you desire from what you do. If you are in a job you hate, face the fact squarely and get out. The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious chore will become endurable as you parade through each day convinced that every task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to fulfilling your dreams. Achievement is not always success, while reputed failure often is. It is honest endeavor, persistent effort to do the best possible under any and all circumstances.

Rouss Donald Rumsfeld John Ruskin David Sarnoff Johann Friedrich Von Schiller Albert Schweitzer George Bernard Shaw Opportunities? They are all around us... There is power lying latent everywhere waiting for the observant eye to discover it. When a man feels throbbing within him the power to do what he undertakes as well as it can possibly be done, and all of his faculties say ''amen'' to what he is doing, and give their unqualified approval to his efforts, -- this is happiness, this is success. Once our minds are 'tattooed' with negative thinking, our chances for longterm other success success diminish. can compensate for failure in the home. No We can help others in the world more by making the most of yourself than in any other way. We must be the epitome-the embodiment-of success. We must radiate success before it will come to us. We must first become mentally, from an attitude standpoint, the people we wish to become. Success is not the place one arrives, but rather the spirit with which one undertakes and continues the journey. Life has taught me not to expect success to be the inevitable result of my endeavors. She taught me to seek sustenance from the endeavor itself, but to leave the result to God. Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure. One of the secrets of life is to make stepping stones out of stumbling blocks. The successful man is prosperous, because he has developed ninety-five percent of his ability. The failure is poor, because only five percent of his natural talents have been utilized. There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, learning from failure. The only journey is the one within. If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you'll achieve the same results. Success comes from taking the initiative and following up... persisting... eloquently expressing the depth of your love. What simple action could you take today to produce a new momentum toward success in your life? Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become Success is steady progress toward one's personal goals. Not in time, place, or circumstances, but in the man lies success. Success tends to go not to the person who is error-free, because he also tends to be risk-averse. Rather it goes to the person who recognizes that life is pretty much a percentage business. It isn't making mistakes that's critical; it's correcting them and getting on with the principal task. The highest reward for a person's toil is not what they get for it, but what they become by it. Success, in a generally accepted sense of the term, means the opportunity to experience and to realize to the maximum the forces that are within us. He who has done his best for his own time has lived for all times. Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. I dread success. To have succeeded is to have finished one's business on earth, like the male spider, who is killed by the female the moment he has succeeded in his courtship. I like a state of continual becoming, with a goal in front and not behind.

6 Ruth Smeltzer Robert Louis Stevenson Ben Sweetland Fran Tarkenton Margaret Thatcher Robert Thibodeau Henry David Thoreau Arnold Toynbee Brian Tracy Goldstein S. Truism Dr. Dale E. Turner You have not lived a perfect day... unless you have done something for someone who will never be able to repay you. A successful person is a dreamer whom someone believed in. Formula for Success... and then some. The top people do what's expected of them, and then some. They are thoughtful and considerate of others, and then some. They meet their obligations and responsibilities fairly and squarely, and then some. They are good friends to their friends, and then some. They can be counted on in an emergency, and then some. And so it is when we do what is assigned to us in our lives and in the church, and then some; then the Lord pays in full, and then some. If the truth be known, most successes are built on a multitude of failures. Make service your first priority, not success and success will follow. Success is best measured by how far you've come with the talents you've been given. Success is more attitude than aptitude. Success isn't how far you got, but the distance you traveled from where you started. Success isn't necessarily permanent -- but neither is failure. The road to success is lined with many tempting parking spaces. To be great means keeping a close relationship with God personally and nationally. In the drive for success, remember to keep your ambition under God s control. Sometimes God says no to our plans. When he does, we should utilize the other opportunities he gives us. Have you prayed with good intentions only to have God say no? This is God s way of directing you to greater purpose in your life. Accepting God s no requires as great a faith as carrying out his yes. To be what we are, and to become what we are capable of becoming, is the only end of life. Success is a journey, not a destination. Success, in my view, is the willingness to strive for something you really want. The person not reaching the top is no less a success than the one who achieved it, if they both sweated blood, sweat and tears and overcame obstacles and fears. The failure to be perfect does not mean you're not a success. One only gets to the top rung of the ladder by steadily climbing up one at a time, and suddenly all sorts of powers, all sorts of abilities which you thought never belonged to you--suddenly become within your own possibility and you think, ''Well, I'll have a go, too.'' To try is all. It matters not if one succeeds or fails outwardly. We must walk consciously only part way toward our goal, and then leap in the dark to our success. Do not let yourselves be discouraged or embittered by the smallness of the success you are likely to achieve in trying to make life better. You certainly would not be able, in a single generation, to create an earthly paradise. Who could expect that? But, if you make life ever so little better, you will have done splendidly, and your lives will have been worthwhile. The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear. Success means only doing what you do well, letting someone else do the rest. Some of the best lessons we ever learn are learned from past mistakes. The error of the past is the wisdom and success of the future.

7 Denis Waitley Basil S. Walsh William A. Ward Booker T. Washington Bishop Herbert E. Welch C. W. Wendte Howard Whitman Tim Wiley Earl Wilson Sloan Wilson Thomas Wolfe Thomas Tom Wolfe John Wooden John Wooden Zig Ziglar Zig Ziglar Johann Georg Zimmermann Our limitations and success will be based, most often, on your own expectations for ourselves. What the mind dwells upon, the body acts upon. We don't need more strength or more ability or greater opportunity. What we need is to use what we have. Better to master one mountain than a thousand foothills. Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which one has overcome while trying to succeed. Only a life built into God's place can succeed. Half of our discouragements are due to the fact that we are not in tune with the infinite harmony of the Great Power, We should be helpers in building the city of God. A city that will endure when all earthly. Success in life is a matter not so much of talent as of concentration and perseverance. Success is no exclusive club. It is open to each individual who has the courage to choose his own goal and go after it. It is from this forward motion that human growth springs, and out of it comes the human essence known as character. Where you end up isn't the most important thing. It's the road you take to get you there. The road you take is what you'll look back on And call your life. Not reaching success isn't the end of the world. Not trying to reach it is. Success is simply a matter of luck. Ask any failure. Success in almost any field depends more on energy and drive than it does on intelligence. This explains why we have so many stupid leaders. If a man has talent and cannot use it, he has failed. If he has talent and uses only half of it, he has half failed. If he has a talent and learns somehow to use the whole of it, he has gloriously succeeded, and won a satisfaction and a triumph few men ever know. You have reached the pinnacle of success as soon as you become uninterested in money, compliments, or publicity. Material possessions, winning scores, and great reputations are meaningless in the eyes of the Lord, because He knows what we really are and that is all that matters. Success is peace of mind, a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming, and not just in a physical way: seek ye first the kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be yours as well. Success means doing the best we can with what we have. Success is the doing, not the getting -- in the trying, not the triumph, Success is a personal standard -- reaching for the highest that is in us -- becoming all that we can be. If we do our best, we are a success. Success is the maximum utilization of the ability that you have. You can have anything in the world you want if you ll just help enough other people get what they want. Many have been ruined by their fortunes, and many have escaped ruin by the want of fortune. To obtain it the great have become little, and the little great.
