3 WELCOME to our 21st Mind, Body, Soul Exhibition. If this is your first visit to an exhibition of this kind, then you are probably wondering what is it all about. Complementary? Alternative? - different terms are used when referring to the many varied healing techniques that you will see over the weekend. Bowen, Reflexology, CranioSacral, Gestalt, Flower Essences, Spiritual Healing, Crystal Healing, Iridology/Herbs. Just so many to choose from, but where do you start? I felt it might be appropriate to explain a little about a some of the therapies that are on offer which will help the people new to complementary healing therapies, start to understand how these approaches can help and assist your body to heal itself in a natural and unobtrusive way. CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (CST) is a gentle hands on therapy, received fully clothed, that will ease aches and pains, such as migraines, backaches, frozen shoulders. etc.. CST is deeply relaxing and effective in the relief of stress and depression. CST's main aim is to soothe the delicate tissues that make up our nervous system. IRIDOLOGY helps the herbalist, to assess inherited or acquired constitutional traits, health status & potential, via looking into the iris of the eye, which maps the body. HERBALISM is using nature`s herbs/plants, which can synergistically work together, using natural biochemistry & nutrients, to treat a range of conditions. Herbs are individually prepared, as easy to take, tinctures, teas, ointments etc, to treat an individual holistically. EFT is a simple, non-invasive meridian based technique for releasing blocked energy that causes negative emotions, including fear, phobia, pain, anxiety, low self esteem, pain and much more. This remarkable tapping technique was developed by Gary Craig, who states that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body s energy system. The EFT process helps balance the system by gently releasing disturbances and emotional blocks to the energy flow. Although we cannot usually see this flow of energy it is the same energy that is measured during an ECG. Just as we cannot see the electric energy that controls the TV we know it is there by the clear picture and sound, when a disruption occurs the quality of the programme is affected to a greater or lesser extent. Emotional disturbances and blockages do the same to our own energy system that carries these tiny electrical impulses around our body. Acupuncture uses needles to stimulate and unblock these energy channels. EFT uses gentle tapping on specific meridian points, mainly on the face and hands whilst using statements relating to the issue being addressed. The process enables clients to work rapidly through layers of emotions, beliefs and memories to find the root cause of their issues.
