3 Introduction Let us begin this Unit with a Latin acrostic in connection with Alchemy: A.L.C.H.I.M.I.A.: Ars Laboriosa Convertem Humiditate Ignea Metalla In Azogue (azogue or azoth: ancient name of the chemical element Mercury). Which means, Laborious Art allowing to convert, through Igneous Humidity, the base metals into Philosophical Mercury or Potable Gold. Alchemy is one of the most ancient sciences, though some scholars rather regard it as an Art. Its origin goes back to humanity's most ancient times, when man and woman were intimately united, forming the Primordial Androgyne or Adam-Kadmon of Genesis (the Protoplasmatic Man of the first Race that populated the Earth). More recently, Alchemy was taken from Egypt; the Arabs brought it to Europe, and it was accepted by a great many medieval monks, eminent hermetic masters and many others. Alchemy is the Science of Transmutations. According to the best etymological interpretations, the word alchemy comes from the Arabic al-kīmiyā or al-khīmiya, which is made up of the article al and the Greek word khumeia (χυμεία), meaning to pour together, to weld, to alloy, etc. (from khumatos that which is poured out, an ingot, or from the Persian kimia, gold ). A decree of Diocletian, written in Greek around the year 300, ordered to burn the ancient writings of the Egyptians dealing with the art of making gold and silver. The Arabic word kīmiya, without the article al, has given rise to chemistry in English and other languages, and in modern Arabic al-kīmiyā means chemistry. It has been suggested that the Arabic word al-kīmiyā actually meant originally 'Egyptian science', borrowing from Coptic the word kēme (denoting Egypt, the sunny land of Kem). Alchemy was thus the art of Keme (or its equivalent in the medieval Bohairic dialect of the Coptic language, khēme). The Coptic word derives from Demotic kmi, and this word, in turn, derives from the ancient Egyptian word kmt. This last word denoted -3-

4 both the country and the colour black (Egypt was the black land, on account of the slime which the Nile left after its annual flooding, in contrast to the red land, that is, the surrounding desert). For this reason, too, in the Middle Ages Alchemy was associated to agriculture, in the sense of art of tilling the soil. In truth, this is an allegory of the work on the Prima Materia (first matter), from which, by transmutation, the Philosophical Gold must be extracted. This art was much related to the Goddess Isis, as Mother Earth; all the Black Virgins of history being an alchemical allegory of the first part of the Great Work, in which the alchemist has to work with the Black Matter until it is whitened and he obtains the Philosopher s Stone. In the Middle Ages, the phrase ars chimica was often used to refer to Alchemy. According to tradition, this art or science was given to men by the Greek-Egyptian God Hermes Trismegistus, the thrice-greatest God Ibis of Thoth. That is why Alchemy is also known as the Hermetic Art. The goal of Hermetic Art is the Magisterium of the Magnus Opus (the Mastership of the Great Work). This goal consists in obtaining pure gold from the base metals through transmutation. To this end, the alchemist had to elaborate an auxiliary element, which has been called by different names in the alchemical literature: Tincture, Elixir (Stone, in Arabic); but the most frequently used term in all the alchemical treatises is the Lapis Philosophorum or Philosopher's Stone. But, in order for us to be able to follow the thread of the study of Alchemy, we must understand that the stone to which we are referring is not a stone as we usually know it. As the alchemists said, The Stone is no stone In order to elaborate the Philosopher s Stone, one had to find what Aristotle called the Mater Prima or Materia Prima of the Great Work, and then one had to open it and extract the Stone from it. This Materia Prima (first matter) was also called Virgin Earth, Virgin Milk, Chaos and Philosophical Egg. -4-

5 According to Alchemy, the Materia Prima is made up of the four Aristotelian elements, also called the Four Essences: Fire, Air, Water and Earth. These four essences contain in themselves a fifth one, which is the synthesis of them all: the Quintessence, from which the Philosopher s Stone is obtained. According to the alchemists, the Science of Transmutations is based on the mutable nature of each one of the four elements, and on the possibility that man s intelligence can intervene, voluntarily and consciously, in this elemental mutation. Aristotle said that each one of the four elements can turn into another one. And this is attainable because each element has two basic properties that makes this possible: Humidity and Dryness. This humidity and this dryness can be Cold or Hot, thus giving rise to the four elements of Physics: Cold Humidity Hot Humidity (Element of Water) (Element of Air) Cold Dryness Hot Dryness (Element of Earth) (Element of Fire) The four elements are as we know them, namely, when their main property prevails in them. But each one of them has a secondary property, and by altering their secondary property, alchemical transmutation takes place: ELEMENT MAIN PROPERTY SECONDARY PROPERTY FIRE HOT DRY AIR HUMID HOT WATER COLD HUMID EARTH DRY COLD When the secondary property of the elements is altered, one is transformed into another: If Earth loses dryness and increases in humidity, it turns into Water (liquefaction). If Water loses coldness and increases in heat, it turns into Air (Vaporization). If Air loses humidity and increases in dryness, it turns into Fire (Ignition). -5-

6 In Gnostic Alchemy, our organic Earth (human machine) creates the Seminal Water (ens seminis) or Sexual Hydrogen Si-12. By means of the erotic heat of Sexual Magic, this water is transmuted into seminal vapours which ascend along the spinal column through the Ida and Pingala nadis. Those vapours eventually turn into Fire (the Sacred Fire of Kundalini awakens). Thus, the soul of the elements, as Master Samael tells us, undergoes incessant alchemical transmutations. Only the form changes, the substance remains the same. That is to say, forms are modifications of that one substance or primordial chaos, which is called Mulaprakriti in Hinduism. This being so, it would be then necessary to search for that One Substance or First Matter, which is the soul of the elements. If man could find that First Matter, he could then work with the elemental forces of Nature so as to become master and lord of them. Hermes taught the first alchemists that there are two Metallic Principles possessing the properties of the four elements of Nature, and that, when those elements are combined among themselves, they precisely form the First Matter of the Great Work: -6-

7 One of them is Mercury, a liquid and cold chemical element, like Water, which under certain conditions can evaporate, turning into Air. The other is Sulphur, a dry and hot chemical element, like Fire, which is found in petrified form in volcanic regions, and which turns into dust like Earth, retaining its igneous properties. In Mercury and Sulphur is the soul of the four elements. However, in order for these two opposing metallic principles to combine or mix, Hermes taught the right use of a third principle. This third principle allowed the merging of Mercury and Sulphur; we are referring to Salt. Conclusion: the First Matter of the Great Work is the wise mixture of Salt, Sulphur and Mercury. -7-

8 The Elaboration of the Philosophical Mercury The initial foundation of the Great Work lies in the elaboration of Mercury. To this end, what is needed is an artifice which was and is the secret of secrets of Alchemy. It refers to the A.Z.F. Arcanum, namely: the connexion of the Lingam and Yoni without the ejaculation of the Ens Seminis. This is the system for preparing Mercury and for transmuting Creative Energy. What is Mercury' in Alchemy? There are three types of Mercury in Hermetic Science: 1. Quicksilver or Crude Mercury, namely the Sacred Sperm as is created by our human machine (Sexual Hydrogen Si-12. Exiohehari). 2. The Metallic Soul of the Sperm, which results from the transmutation of Crude Mercury. It refers to the transmuted energy that ascends through the spine's ganglionic cords up to the brain. 3. The highest of the three, when Mercury has been fertilized by Sulphur, and which is called Sulphured Mercury. What is 'Sulphur' in Alchemy? It is the Sacred Fire of Kundalini. In sexual transmutation, once it is elaborated, the Sulphured Mercury ascends through the central Nadi of the spinal cord (sushumna), awakening the higher powers of the Being. The surplus of that sulphur-fertilized Mercury eventually serves for the creation of the Higher Existential Bodies of the Being. When the sulphur-fertilized Mercury crystallizes in our psyche with the notes DO-REMI-FA-SOL-LA-SI on a higher octave, the Astral Body is formed. This body is just the product of the crystallization of the Sulphured Mercury. -8-

9 Through a second octave, DO-RE-MI-FA-SOL-LA-SI, the Mental Body is formed. When it crystallizes in a third octave, the Causal Body is created. That is how Man is formed within ourselves. When the Higher Existential Bodies of the Being have been created, then we receive our Soul Principles and our Spiritual Principles. Anyone who receives these principles becomes a Real Man; he possesses a Soul. -9-

10 What is 'Salt' in Alchemy? Salt, for the alchemists, is the Third Force, the element having the crystallizing and dissolving properties of the First Matter. It is the substance that allows to dissolve the gross and base elements of the metals, and at the same time to crystallize its superior properties. Salt allows the process of Solve et Coagula in the Great Work. Master Samael tells us that Salt is contained in our sexual secretions, in our Sacred Sperm, and it is sublimated by transmutation. Salt possesses the corrosive igneous elements allowing the elimination of the Dry Mercury (the I s). On the other hand, Salt has a coagulating power allowing the crystallization of the Higher Existential Bodies of the Being. The Arche The Sulphur-fertilized Mercury, plus Salt, was called arche by the medieval alchemists. This word comes from Greek ἀρχή, and it is a term meaning fountain, beginning, origin. Arche was also a concept in the philosophy of ancient Greece, associated to the beginning of the Universe, to the first element generating all things. Arche is, therefore, the substance or primitive chaos from where all creation springs forth. This is found both in the Macrocosm (in the Nebula from where worlds come out) and in the Microcosm-Man. For Thales of Miletus, Arche was the First One Beginning or Principle from which everything comes. The Gospel of St John speaks about this Principle: En arche en ho Logos Kai Logos en pros ton Theon Kai Theos en ho Logos En auti zoe en Chois aute aude hen Kai he zoe en to phos ton anthropon In the Beginning was the Logos (Word) the Logos was with God And God was in the Logos In Him was life Without Him, not even a single thing was made And life was in the light of men. Arche is 'that by which all things were made', and without it nothing was made. Arche is the Light of men Light that is enclosed in our sex glands. It is the Creative Fire-Light in man. When sexual transmutation is carried out, Salt is also transmuted along with Mercury and Sulphur. Therefore, there are Salt, Sulphur and Mercury both in the Macrocosmic Arche and in the Microcosmic Arche. Master Samael asks, What is that Macrocosmic Nebula? And he answers us, The First Matter or prima materia from where the Cosmic Units come out. Thus, here, in man, that

11 particular Nebula is also elaborated with Salt, Sulphur and Mercury. Up there, the Worlds spring forth. Here, in us, the Inner Bodies spring forth. What the Great Architect of the World made in the Macrocosm, we have to do it here, on a small scale, within us. As above, so below. We need to create the Arche within us, which is made up of Salt, Sulphur and Mercury. The Arche crystallizes in the Bodies. Each one of the Bodies (Physical, Astral, Mental and Causal) is a mixture of Salt, Sulphur and Mercury. The Arche is made by working with the first, second and third types of Mercury, the Arche being properly the third Mercury, and with it the Inner Bodies are created. S. A. W

12 How does the conjunction of Sulphur and Mercury take place? In the beginning, Mercury is black in colour, and is symbolized with a black crow. Later, Mercury turns white, and is allegorized with a white dove. Then, Mercury takes a yellow colour, when it is ready to receive Sulphur, and is symbolized with a yellow eagle. Later, when Mercury has been fertilized by Sulphur, when it has become Sulphured Mercury, it is symbolized by a red pheasant. Thus, in this way, the four colours al Alchemy complement each other. These four colours are, in turn, symbolized by the Three Magi of the East and by the purple of their royal mantles. S. A. W. This means that in order for conjunctio to take place, Mercury has to go through four phases, namely: NIGREDO: In the beginning the waters are dirty, and are as black as a crow, because of the lustful I s within us. In this phase, sexuality is yet animal, and in that state it is impossible for Mercury to be fertilized by Sulphur (Sacred Fire). The black crow in Alchemy indicates that we must die in ourselves, by eliminating the I s of lust. ALBEDO: This is the second phase of the work with Mercury, and it is symbolized by a white dove. It indicates that the waters have been purified, that the sexual act has been sublimated and ennobled through the sacrament of Love. This colour indicates that the I s of animal passion have been eliminated, and that Mercury is ready to be fertilized by Sulphur. CITRINITAS: This third phase is symbolized by a yellow eagle. These birds of different colours (crow, dove, eagle) represent the volatile property of Mercury. The yellow colour indicates that the alchemist is about to receive the Fire (Sulphur). RUBEDO: This fourth phase is represented by a red pheasant. The Fire fertilizes the genetic waters. The conjunctio of Mercury and Sulphur has taken place. The Arche has been formed. The alchemist can then work in the Second Birth, which culminates in the creation of the Solar Bodies

13 Alchemical Axioms to Achieve this Conjunctio First know, and then act. Control your animal nature. Do not use common methods. Use only one vessel, one fire and one instrument. Keep the fire constantly burning. Nature contains Nature. Nature rejoices with Nature. Nature dominates Nature, and turns into other Natures. The ape imitates man. Man must imitate Nature, and he will find what he is searching for. Change your Nature, and you will find what you are searching for. VITRIOL: Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem (Visit the interior of the earth and, by rectifying, you will find the hidden stone). This face of the seven-pointed star, venerable as it is, symbolizes the Sophic Mercury (the ens seminis). Listen, squabs of Alchemy, listen to Stolcius explaining this emblem:

14 That which was previously enclosed in many forms, now you see it included in one. The beginning is our old man, and he has the key. Sulphur with Salt and Mercury give riches. If you see nothing here, there is no reason for you to keep searching; for you will be blind, even in the midst of light. The Golden Bodies of the Solar Man Once the Inner Bodies have been made, we need to perfect them. This can only be achieved by eliminating the I s or psychological faults that we have within, and which the alchemists called Dry Mercury (a very accurate term, for we know that the I s are negative crystallizations of crude quicksilver fertilized by passion-born fire). If we do not eliminate our I s, the Bodies cannot be perfected, and if they are not perfected, they cannot be covered by the different parts of our Being. Speaking in alchemical language, they cannot become vehicles of Pure Gold. To achieve this, two things must be eliminated: the Dry Mercury (the I s) and the Arsenicated Sulphur. What is the Arsenicated Sulphur? It is the animal, luciferian and bestial fire of man s atomic hells, the hypnotic fohat of the abominable Kundabuffer Organ. When the Inner Bodies have been transformed into bodies of Pure Gold, and the three higher bodies compenetrate one another without becoming confused, they thus come to serve as an envelope for our King, the Inner Christ; then He rises from that Crystal Sepulchre and clothes himself with those Golden Vehicles, to manifest himself here through the senses, and to work for humanity. That is how the Lord comes to life, how the Inner Magnes of Alchemy comes into existence (the Lapis Philosophorum is acquired). S. A. W. What is the Philosopher s Stone? 'We call the Philosopher s Stone the most ancient stone of the sages, the most secret or unknown, incomprehensible in natural terms, celestial, blessed and sacred. It is said that it is true, and more certain than certainty itself, the Arcanum of all arcana virtue and power of the divinity, hidden from the ignorant, end and goal of all things under the sky, definitive and marvellous conclusion of the operative work of all the sages. 'It is the perfect essence of all the elements, the indestructible body that no element may damage or harm, the quintessence; it is the double and living mercury which has within it the divine spirit, the treatment of all the weak and imperfect metals, the sempiternal light, the panacea of all ills, the glorious Phoenix, the most precious of all treasures, the greatest possession in all of nature. (Musaeum Hermeticum of Michael Mayer 1625)

15 Beyond any sophistication and symbolism,' says Master Samael, the Philosopher s Stone is the Inner Christ covered with the Golden Bodies (which have been perfected through the death of the I). That Golden envelope is called To Soma Heliakon (the body of Helios, the Sun) the Golden Body of the Solar Man. When one possesses the Philosopher s Stone, one has power over Nature, possesses the Elixir of Long Life, can keep one s body alive for thousands of years, and is obeyed by Nature. That is the Way of Alchemy. The Philosopher s Stone is obtained when the Dry Mercury and the Arsenicated Sulphur are eliminated. If this is not done, the inner bodies are not turned into gold of the best quality. The Stone is no stone, say the alchemists. But it is also true that the Philosopher s Stone must come out of the Stone (sex)', for it is potentially contained in it. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This was the Lord s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes. (Matthew 21: 42)

16 Who are the builders? What has to be built? And I tell you, you are Peter (Patar, Petrus), and on this stone I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16: 18-19). In his First Epistle, in chapter 2, verses 4-9, St Peter makes an important statement in connection with the Living Stone: Come to him, to the Living Stone, rejected by men but in God s sight chosen and precious; and like Living Stones be yourselves built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a Stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame. 'To you, then, who believe, he is precious, but for those who do not believe: The stone that the builders rejected has become the very head of the corner, and A stone that makes men stumble, and a rock that makes them fall, 'They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. 'But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God s own people, in order that you may proclaim the wonderful deeds of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. The Stone, as spoken of by Jesus, is sex, A stone that makes men stumble and a rock that makes them fall.' In Alchemy, by means of that Stone, the aim is to obtain the Philosopher s Stone because, as the alchemists said, the Philosopher s Stone has to be sought in a matter in which it is there potentially.' The Scottish alchemist Alexander Seton, better known by the sobriquet of The Cosmopolitan, wrote the following about the Philosopher s Stone:

17 The Philosopher s Stone is considered to be a pure chimera, and the people who search for it are taken as mad. This contempt, say the hermetic philosophers, is an effect of the just judgement of God, who does not allow such a precious secret to be known by wicked and ignorant people.' The alchemical text Chemical Harmony, written by David Laigneau (1636), says the following: It would be a folly to feed an ass with lettuce and good vegetables, when thistles are sufficient for it. The secret of the Stone is quite precious to make it public. Anything that can become harmful to society, even if it is per se excellent, must not be divulged, and it must be spoken about only in mysterious terms. I swear to you by my soul,' says Raimond Lulle, that if you reveal this, you will be damned. Everything comes from God, and everything must return to Him. If, by uttering some light words, you disclosed what has required so many years of cares, you would be condemned without remission in the Final Judgement for this offence to the Divine Majesty.' Krumm-Heller, the Venerable Master Huiracocha, speaks about the sexual Stone in his marvellous book Esoteric Rose, and says as follows: You have a Stone Did you not know it? Yes you have it. Look deep down within yourself It is rough and imperfect, isn t it? Then strike the first chips off it, so as to shape it little by little; but do it with care, with love Since in the Stone that you are touching is the Rose, the treasure of your own Soul.' The Philosopher s Stone Gives Three Things: The power to turn Lead into Gold. The Universal Medicine. The power to heal the ill, physically and spiritually. The Elixir of Long Life: Immortality. Once the Philosopher s Stone is obtained, the Great Work of the Father has been completed, and the Inner Self-Realization of the Being has been achieved. ******* Patience is the alchemist s ladder, and Humility is the gate of his garden. Anyone who is resolved to carry out the Great Work must say little, do a great deal and be always quiet (such is the rule of conduct of the true hermetic philosopher)

18 Fulcanelli, the great alchemist and author of The Philosophical Dwellings and The Mystery of Cathedrals, enlightens us in regard to Hermetic Science, saying: Nature does not open the door of the Sanctuary to everyone indiscriminately. The mysterious science requires a great deal of precision, accuracy and perspicacity when observing facts; a healthy, logical and prudent spirit; a vivid imagination, without exaltation; an ardent and pure heart. It also demands great simplicity and absolute indifference to theories, systems and hypotheses. 'By the constant exercise of the faculties of observation and reasoning, and by meditation, the neophyte will climb the steps leading to Knowledge. The ingenuous imitation of natural processes, a cleverness combined with ingenuity, and the lights of a long experience, will all assure him the Power. Despite being able to accomplish, he will still need patience, perseverance and an unbreakable will. Bold and determined, his certainty and confidence, born of a strong faith, will allow him to Dare everything. 'Finally, when success has crowned so many years of work, when his desires or longings have come true, the Sage, despising the vanities of the world, will approach the humble, the dispossessed, all those who toil, suffer, struggle, despair and weep down here. An anonymous and mute disciple of eternal Nature, an apostle of eternal Charity, he will remain faithful to his vow of silence. In science, in good, the Adept must always be quiet.'

19 THE CREATION OF THE COSMOS-MAN AND SEXUAL ALCHEMY Lecture by Master Samael In any case, it is as well to know that the whole of humanity is tremendously mechanistic by a hundred per cent. Obviously, such mechanicalness originally comes from that satellite that revolves around our Earth, and which is called Moon. We need to free ourselves from this mechanical, purely automatic life. And we can free ourselves if we create a psychological moon within us. Well, we can certainly create such a moon. To this end, the important thing would be to eliminate from our human personality all those heavy and dense elements controlling it. I am emphatically referring to the psychic aggregates of pride, conceit, vanity, hatred, arrogance, jealousy, etc. If we manage to eliminate those aggregates from our personality, then a Permanent Centre of Gravity, a Conscious Centre of Gravity, will be established in our psyche. Unquestionably, such a centre is what we can emphatically call Psychological Moon. Obviously, that Moon gives us continuity of purpose, and as a result we will no longer be drifting as far as the work on ourselves is concerned; an extraordinary change will have been brought about in us. But, that is not all. It is necessary to progress still further: we need to create a Psychological Solar System in ourselves. To this end, we have to descend to the Ninth Sphere, to the Ninth Dantesque Circle, to Vulcan's Fiery Forge, which is sex. Unquestionably, any creation in us is possible through Salt, Sulphur and Mercury. If we want to create a Solar System within us, a Psychological Solar System, to be more precise, which will allow us to live freely in the whole solar system, we must work intensively with the Salt, Sulphur and Mercury of the Wise. This in fact involves great super-efforts

20 We have to begin by knowing a little bit about Alchemy. It is necessary to know that Mercury, about which all the alchemists speak, is the metallic soul of the Sacred Sperm. The metallic soul of the Sacred Sperm, however, has to be prepared, and this involves laboratory work. If we do not prepare Mercury, what will we do the Great Work with? In order to carry out the Great Work, we must first prepare the Mercury of the Wise. And how could we prepare the Mercury of the Wise? Through the secret of secrets of Alchemy. I am talking about a simple 'artifice' that you already know: it is the connexion of the Lingam and Yoni without the ejaculation of the ens seminis, because in the ens seminis lies the ens virtutis of the fire. The secret of secrets of Holy Alchemy is really simple. In the beginning, Mercury is black and filthy; that is to say, in the beginning the waters are black. When the alchemist begins to work or, to be more precise, when the Gnostic couple begins to work, they are represented with the black crow of Alchemy, because their mercurial waters are black. The alchemists say, in a very witty and symbolic way, that it is necessary to extract the white gelatine from those black waters. They mean by that that those black waters must be turned into white and pure, crystalline waters. And that is only possible by refining the Sacrament of the Church of Roma. (The word 'Roma' written in reverse order reads Amor (Latin for Love). The Sacrament of the Church of Amor (love) is sex; it is in sex. If the Sacrament of the Church of Roma is refined, then the black waters become white. If the alchemists say that in the beginning we have to work with the black crow, or that we need to whiten the crow, all mean the same:

21 We have to turn the black waters into white ones. We have to transform them through a process of refinement. The big problem that I am seeing in all the Gnostic little brothers, both men and women, in all the Gnostic couples in general, is that they do not bother to refine the Sacrament of the Church of Roma, and they are taking a very long time to awaken their Kundalini. There are couples who have been working in the Ninth Sphere for ten or fifteen years now, and still have not received the Fire. That is no correct. The Fire has to be received quickly. The ones to blame are those couples themselves, because the fact is that they do not refine the Sacrament of the Church of Roma. They are performing the connexion of the Lingam and Yoni in an animal-like manner, as it were. They are carrying out the chemical copulation in a far too brutal and animal way, and the waters remain black for years on end, and they are becoming stagnant for that reason. But, if the Sacrament of the Church of Roma is refined; if the sexual intercourse is turned into a form of prayer, as St Augustine said, then the black waters turn white. In sacred Egypt, on reaching that stage, the Initiate received the robe of Ptah, that is, the robe of chastity, the robe of white linen. I repeat, the black waters have been always symbolized with the black crow. But the white waters have been symbolized, or allegorized, to speak more clearly, with the white dove of the Holy Spirit. Later, the white waters have to be turned into yellow ones, because yellow is the true colour of Mercury

22 That is why the planet Mercury is always represented with the yellow colour. On reaching that stage, it is said that the waters have been turned into the yellow eagle, or they are allegorized with the yellow eagle. Those yellow waters always receive the Sulphur. And what is the Sulphur? The Sulphur is the luciferian fire, the sacred fire. That Sulphur, mixed with Mercury, plus the sublimed Salt that rises from the bottom of the Hermetic Vesel, all constitute in themselves the VITRIOL of the Wise. The word VITRIOL is worth analysing: Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem (Visit the interior of the earth and, by rectifying, you will find the hidden stone). And what kind of stone does it refer to? It is the Philosopher s Stone, and what Stone is that? The Philosopher s Stone is the Red Carbuncle itself. It is the Chrestos or Inner Magnes, clothed in the Golden Bodies. That is the Philosopher s Stone, but it is necessary to rectify in the bowels of the Earth; it is necessary to search again and again in that flexible and malleable, liquid glass, in order for us to be able to manufacture the Stone. So, once the Mercury has been prepared, the Higher Existential Bodies of the Being can be created. On a higher octave, we can use that Mercury to manufacture the Astral Body. On a second octave, that Mercury would give us the base for us to make the Mental Body, and on a third octave, it could give us the base to make the Body of the Conscious Will or Causal Body. Once those bodies have been created, we can receive the soul principles and the spiritual or Buddhic principles, which in fact transform us into men, in the most complete sense of the word. *******

23 That is to say, with those Existential Bodies we have in fact created the Solar System in miniature within ourselves, here and now. We become the Solar System in miniature (a microcosmic solar system, to be more precise). We will have created the Psychological Solar System, just as we created the Psychological Moon. Anyone who possesses the Psychological Solar System within himself is a Real Man. Before one possesses the Psychological Solar System within oneself, before one has created it, one is not a man. Even if he thinks that he is, he is not. He is an intellectual animal, but not a man. The best men of science have implied it, but do not dare to say it. They do not dare to out of fear. They are afraid of being held up to ridicule. They are afraid of people s reaction. They are ashamed of it. They do not say it. They imply it, but nothing else. Frankly, I think that we have to put our cards on the table and courageously say the truth, whatever the cost. As long as one has not created the Higher Existential Bodies of the Being within oneself, one is not a man; one is just an intellectual animal. It has even been said even in the Faculties of Medicine. Here in the Federal District, a professor of medicine was delivering a lecture to a group of students, and said, 'we are intellectual mammals, or rational mammals, which is the same'. He said it, and the strange thing about it was that the students did not react; everybody accepted it. The professor said it and that s tough, everybody keep their trap shut. But, since it was said in the Faculty of Medicine, there is no problem. The problem is when it is said in a lecture room. However, it is said in the Faculty and it is accepted. Those who have not created the Higher Existential Bodies of the Being are indeed just that, intellectual mammals. But, in order to create those bodies, it is first necessary to prepare the Mercury of the Wise

24 So, once we have created a Psychological Solar System and a Psychological Moon within ourselves, if we want to progress a little further, we have to define our goal, because, on reaching that stage of the Being, we have to choose between two paths: one is the Nirvanic Spiral Path (it is a good work); the other is the Direct Way or Path, which leads us to the Absolute (it is a higher work). Many settle on the Nirvanic Spiral Path, and since their fruits are lesser, their sufferings are also lesser. Those who settle on the Direct Path suffer more, because their triumphs are greater, and so their pain is more tremendous. As to me, I am a walker of the Direct Path, and the doctrine I teach is that of the Direct Path, intended for those who want to take the Direct Path. I am sorry for those who do not want to take the Direct Path, because there will be a point in which everyone will have to decide on their path, and we will have to say good bye to those who follow the Spiral Path. Those of us who follow the Direct Path are going to the Absolute. So, that is the harsh reality of facts. Now, the advantage those of us who follow the Direct Path have is that we eventually become Solar Men. But, in order for us to become Solar Men, we have to manufacture a Psychological Sun within ourselves, here and now. But, how are we going to create the Psychological Sun within ourselves? We can create it by eliminating the Dry Mercury and the Arsenicated Sulphur from us. And, what is the Dry Mercury? Could some of you tell me? Could some of you answer my question? Disciple: It is the psychic aggregates. That's correct! The psychic aggregates are constituted by Dry Mercury. And as to the Arsenicated Sulphur, what would you say? Disciple: It is the negative sexual fire. Yes, it refers to the fire of man s low atomic hells, the fire that originates in the abominable Kundabuffer Organ. That has to be eliminated. If we eliminate our psychic aggregates and our Arsenicated Sulphur, we can manufacture gold, gold of the best quality, a type of gold more perfect than the one existing in any mine of the Earth. Of course, in order for gold to be there within ourselves, we need a great artificer, a great hermetic artist. I am clearly referring to Antimony. Antimony is not merely a substance, as many claim. In Alchemy, Antimony goes further; it is one of the autonomous and self-conscious parts of our own Being, since our own Being has many autonomous and self-conscious parts. Antimony is one of them. It is an alchemist. That part works actively, fixing gold into Mercury

25 We have already said that our bodies are constituted by Sulphured Mercury plus a little sublimated Salt; but the important thing is to fix the gold into that Mercury. You know very well that in mines there is always a relationship between gold and mercury. In some mines there is a very fertile type of mercury in which gold always fixes itself. Well, in us there is also a relationship between mercury and gold. As we eliminate, for example, our psychic aggregates or Dry Mercury related to our Astral Body, it is clear that Antimony gradually fixes the gold in that body, and a time comes when our sidereal or Astral Body, the famous Eidolon, truly becomes a very fine vehicle, a vehicle of pure gold of the best quality. On reaching that stage, it is clear that the Serpent devours the Astral Body; it swallows it. And then we go on to enjoy the power of the chakras. Before that it is not possible because one thing is to awaken the Serpent, to activate it, and another thing is to enjoy the chakras. In order for us to be able to enjoy the chakras we necessarily need to have been first devoured by the Serpent. Once our Astral Body has been swallowed by the Snake, we have to work with our Mental Body. Many can progress as far as the Astral Body, but when they get to work with the mind, they fail. The mind is very difficult. Do you know what means to transform the mind into a golden mind, into a divine mind? The mind is extremely difficult. How difficult to transform the mind into gold is. Many reach that point and fail; they cannot go further. In my present existence, when I reached that point, I was warned. I was told the following, Many have reached this point, but it is difficult to go further.' I just said, Well, I m going to try to.'

26 And I set out to work, eliminating the Dry Mercury from my mind. I succeeded in doing it by making supreme sacrifices and very great efforts, and when that mind turned into a vehicle of gold, it was swallowed by the Snake; then my mind rested in Isis. On a third octave, we have to work with the Causal Body. It seems unbelievable that we also have Dry Mercury in the World of Natural Causes, but we have it. It is very difficult to eliminate the Dry Mercury in the Causal World, because, generally, the psychic aggregates of the Causal World, or of the Causal Body, are connected with karma, and that is the critical point. In order to eliminate certain aggregates, there must be negotiations, terrible superefforts, beyond what is normal, tremendous acts of repentance. It is there where we have to wash our feet in the blood of our heart. All that is very serious. Well, when the Initiate has succeeded in eliminating the psychic aggregates from his Causal Body, then the gold has been completely fixed in it, and the Serpent can devour it. Then the Initiate is admitted in the World of Natural Causes as a qualified adept and, as a result, he is received in the temple of the Causal World as a qualified adept. Much later in time, we will have to work with the Buddhi, or the Buddhic or Intuitional Body, so sung by many authors, and which is called Walkyrie, Beautiful Shulammite, king Solomon s wife, the Beautiful Helen of Troy, etc

27 It is not so easy to turn that vehicle into a golden vehicle. To achieve it, we have to eliminate all those atoms that were, as it were, deformed by our errors. Each of those atoms involves a deformed, different atomic consciousness. That is to say, there we find evil intelligences, not exactly in the Buddhi but in its counterpart by antonomasia. This involves descending to the Nether Worlds, which is very terrible, so as to eliminate dreadful inhuman psychic aggregates related to the Consciousness. Once this has been achieved, the Buddhic or Intuitional Body shines with the gold of the Wise. And finally, we have to work with Atman, the Ineffable One. Once Atman is transformed into a vehicle of gold, we are firmly established in Isis. We can exclaim, 'I am a Serpent! I am a Serpent! ' All this work, about which I am now speaking to you, is performed in the Ninth Sphere, in Sex, because it is in the Ninth Sphere that we will have to wield the spear to disintegrate the inhuman psychic aggregates within us. It is in the Forge of the Cyclopes where the Divine Mother Kundalini Shakti takes up the weapons of Vulcan to destroy all the Dry Mercury. So, when a man has succeeded in making gold within himself, he is ready, he is prepared, for the Christ to rise in him. The Inner Christ must rise in the heart of man. And once He has risen, He will clothe Himself with those bodies of pure gold which, as a whole, constitute the To Soma Heliakon of the Solar Man. Once He is clothed or covered with that fine metallic envelope of pure gold, He comes into manifestation to work in the Great Work of the Father. The vital thing is, then, to attain Resurrection, and that is possible if we work, as we should work, in the Ninth Sphere. So, if we need to create a Psychological Moon, and if we need to create a Psychological Solar System within ourselves, we also need to create the Psychological Sun within ourselves. But, that is not all. Do you think that because someone is a Solar Man he must remain stagnant? A Solar Man has every right to become a Galactic Man. He has every right to head towards Sirius, because the Ray of the Revolution of Consciousness leads us to Sirius, towards the Central Sun Sirius, the capital of the Milky Way, around which millions of constellations revolve. If a Solar Man wants to become a Galactic Man, he will inevitably need to create a Psychological Galaxy within himself. And in order to create it, he will have to descend again to the Blazing Forge of Vulcan, to work there with the water and the fire. He will need to work in the Forge of the Cyclopes, to create those most fine vehicles of the Nirmanakaya, of the Sambhogakaya (which has three more degrees of perfection than

28 that of the Nirmanakaya), of the Addikaya, and of the Dharmakaya. These vehicles will allow him to exist as a Galactic Man in this Galaxy, and to live in Sirius. To this end, he must descend, to create the bodies he needs to become a Galactic Man. No one could become a Galactic Man unless he possessed the four kayas of Alchemy. And, once he has created them, he then becomes a Galactic Man. That is why a Lady-Adept once asked in Sirius: Could I reincarnate here, in this world?' The answer was: That's impossible. You are just an embryo.' To get to live in Sirius is very difficult. Indeed, only Galactic Men can live there. We have to bear in mind that Sirius is the capital of this Milky Way. Now, the inhabitants of Sirius, the Galactic Men, to be more precise, would they have the right to progress further? I say they would. Yes, they have every right to become Infinite Men. And if, to be entitled to be Galactic Men, they have to create a Psychological Galaxy for themselves; in the same way, in order to be entitled to live in all this Infinite that we know, and which I would call 'Einstein s Infinite' (since it was him who said that the Infinite tends to a limit, and that space is curved); so, in order to be entitled to live in this Infinite in which we exist, it is necessary to create a Psychological Infinite with new appropriate vehicles and, to this end, it is necessary to descend to the Forge of the Cyclopes, to the Blazing Forge of Vulcan.
