1 THE HISTORY OF TANTRA Tantra originates far back thousands of years ago in very ancient civilizations. At the same time, Tantra is a conscious awareness of understandings, exercises and rituals that came naturally to indigenous tribal populations, those human beings that walked with God in Gardens of Perfect Bliss and Delight. Generally, Tantra is associated with India. The practices have shown up throughout much of Central Asia and the Far East, and is even evident in the hierogliphic transcripts of Egypt. In understanding Tantra in its fullness, it becomes apparent, that in early human history, there existed a worldwide paradigme in which Sex was naturally considered a Sacred Communion between the two polar energies of man and woman. Through this union the couple was able to attain Atonement, or At- Onement with one another. This brought up to the surface, their God like qualities. Like unto the God Entity, the progenitor of all creation, when Man and Woman join together they nurture and release the Divine Life Energy located at the base of the spine. This location is called the Muldahara Chakra

2 Try visualizing your central nervous system, the spine and brain, as a magical Tree of Life. There, at the base of the spine, the Muldahara Chakra, an actual spinning vortex of Life Energy, would be the root of that tree. Tantra represents the way that, in the early days, God and Hue-Man being walked together without shame or fear. God was understood to be the infinite Life Energy that surged through the hue-man, giving it life. What turned on the switch to make that Life flow? It was Breath! It is the same today. God was also all the Life Energy of the Universe that was able to continuously feed life into all the world of matter. Along with the energy aspect, God was the conscious awareness of intelligence that determined the flow of the energy as well as the results of that flow. Ultimately, God, as Energy, and God as Intellect merged together, just as woman and man merge together, God was able to give birth to, nurture and maintain the material world. Just as Man and Woman are able to give birth to, nurture and maintain their own physical offspring and attributes. It has been acclaimed by ancient masters of wisdom, that when the masculine and feminine Life Energy climaxes, it always gives birth to something. This doesn t necessarily mean creating a living fetus. It can, just as well, bring into materialization, an idea or vision. Our present spiritual texts all proclaim, As it is above, so it is below : As it is within, so it is without : As it is in heaven, so it is in Earth, It becomes easy to understand that as it is in the macrocosm, the same is so in the microcosm. Man and Woman, joined, are a microcosmic representation of the Infinite, Eternal, Omnipotent All and All ONE God, out of which come many. E pluribus unum! As time moved on, there came upon this earth a power movement. Tribal leaders, once held their position for the sole purpose of safety and wellbeing of the family or societal group. Eventually, greed took over, and it was no longer just about safety and wellbeing. There developed a need to have it all. Sovereign Majesties were created. Religious dogma took the stage to help control the mass population for the interest of the chosen few. They used tactics of fear and guilt. As the psychology of societies developed in this way, the Divine

3 and natural essences of sex was hidden. These values were passed on to only the most elite, to assure their own godliness in power. The same values and teachings were strictly prohibited to the common masses. They were taught a different set of values. Religions taught that sexuality was a vile and inferior human element that must be totally subdued by our higher spiritual nature. The same texts that taught, A house divided against its self will surely fall, taught that the spirit must war against the flesh. Traditions began to develop which harshly deprived women of basic human rights, and tortured them for their natural state of femininity. Woman were bound and hid away, made to slave and to bend to the whims of man, to lose all rights to wealth and politic, and to suffer quietly under penalty of death, all as the result of fear. Yes, men feared them, for their natural tendency to awaken their sexual nature, which was now considered evil. The power structure feared them for the same reason. The same temples that outlawed a healthy and Sacred Regard for Sexual Energy to the masses, began to train temple priestesses, and then dispatch them to the royal Kings, to teach them how to use this powerful energy to enhance their health, wealth, power, and even assure their immortality. These women were legal surrogates, teaching wisdom through the world s oldest profession exclusively in the royal courts. The temples priests sanctioned it. As the passing on of the highly coveted sacred wisdom became a business, it was the temple priests and nuns that were the primary operators. Of course, the Tantrika Priestesses brought much more than the proverbial sexual quickie associated with the profession of today. This was powerful information. These teachings were held highly secretive, and well protected. If women were caught sharing such information with anyone outside of the King, she could be burned or stoned to death. The church made her wisdom an atrocity to the community, by teaching that partaking in such knowledge would certainly be of the Devil s pie, and would surely sentence a soul to burn forever in hell!

4 Today we are privileged to live in an information age that assures anyone who desires to learn these powerful teachings can surely do so. In a world where sex can now bring death just as easily as it brings life and where relationships are disintegrating faster than they are coming together, such wisdom is much needed. For this reason, the Ormes Temple has developed workshops for even our youth. We are especially interested in the adolescent stages, where strong sexual opinions and judgements can have devastating lifelong effects. In most cases our young depend on brief school curriculum, peers and media to mold their impression of sexuality for the good and for the bad. Generally speaking, what occurs is a feeling of guilt and remorse over the awareness of the natural blissful feelings that accompany sexual energy. Our society continues to teach that attention given to such feelings, other than for the procreation of life under very stringent acceptable regulations, is unacceptable, and at best, needs be pushed deep down to some irretrievable place inside of us, where it can be rendered harmless to our overall social experience and eternal soul. Consequently, the battle of self against self, a house divided ensues. As made evident in our modern day pop culture, it is the most vile and depraved sexual involvement that takes precedence during these naturally rebellious years. Unfortunately this places our young at considerable irreversible risks that can ultimately condemn them to a living hell, throughout their adult lives, right here on earth. The Ormes Trybe asks that you consider our young. Shall they be rebellious to a system that was developed to keep them ignorant and powerless, notwithstanding their own rebellious acts? Why not teach them openly, the Sanctity of this Divine Life Energy that runs within and around them? Why should they not understand how this energy is naturally meant to work to their benefit, with pride and self acceptance, on all aspects of their being, body, heart, mind, soul and spirit. Why should they feel the need to settle to be deviant culprits to an underground society subject to destruction when they can see their Divine inheritance of and to life? In a society today, where so many of our young never know the life enhancing benefit of a positive loving touch, we find a whole population that learns to use sex as way to manipulate, and understands the sacrifice as a means to an end.
