1 HUMAN NATURE AND SOUL TIES Part 2 Matthew 5: What are soul Ties? All associations, relationships and unions where vows are exchanged or commitments are made results in a (soul) tie been established God tells us in His Word to dwell together in perfect unity (Psalm 133) God wants us to form relationships and live together in peace You will often find a married couple say I have now found my soul-mate All associations cause ties to be established because of man s desire for company and relationship Some associations are healthy whereas others are destructive Where a relationship is established under God and abides by His laws and regulations, then a healthy relationship is established which complies with the natural order of life Now man has proven that he has the propensity to mess up the simplest of things that God has established upon the earth, in our best interest and for our own good Man s character failures are compounded by a fallen and defeated angel called Lucifer, also known as the devil or Satan and which the bible refers to as the enemy. His sole mission on earth is to further complicate man s fragile existence by only coming to kill, steal and destroy (John 10: 10) all the good intentions of man, no matter what his religious affiliation and convictions are So what we see happening is, the devil using man s fragile character and introducing a non God sanctioned action which, when accepted by the man, causes a change in the natural order of life which in turn creates an ungodly soul tie The problem with these ungodly soul ties is that they bring with it, generational baggage which weighs down the individual with guilt, through gossip, disgrace, views and opinions, judgement and societal conditions and expectations Where these conditions exist in part or fully and these is an element of shame, then an ungodly soul tie has been established This sin creates a generational flaw, meaning that the God ordained order of nature (laws and commandments) is broken and a new order is established, an order of generational curses and anarchy

2 This the sin then entrenches itself on the back of the person s shame and hitches a ride through the generations of the offspring of that individual and on every other person to whom they have cleaved in body and in mind (Remember that the bible says that the sin of the mind being as accountable as the acted upon sin itself This means that you can commit adultery in your mind without having actually perpetrated the sin as an act So sin is sin, whether in the mind or by a physical action and this seperates God from man We see this laid out by Jesus in a teaching in Matthew 5:27-30 (NIV) 27 You have heard that it was said, Do not commit adultery. 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. The biblical premise of this teaching is given in Exodus 20:1-6 (NIV) 1 And God spoke all these words: 2 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 3 You shall have no other gods before me. 4 You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. God says to man; - If you cannot keep my laws, then you are sinning against Me, for which I will hold you personally accountable and furthermore, your offspring up to three or four generations AND - Your actions prove that you hate me through your sin We can see here that God views sin as hatred towards him, for which the consequences are a blanket generational curse for up to three or four generations

3 Let us use adultery as an example of a generational curse. As I have previously taught, adultery in the biblical sense is expanded to include any act of disobedience which causes a separation between God and the individual. This means that the person has put his own interests above that of God resulting in an intervention by God To narrow the example, I am going to use sexual adultery to explain the concept of a generational curse Now adultery in itself is not an unforgivable sin, simply because the Spirit of God has not been grieved or blasphemed against What it has done however, is create accountability on the part of the law breaker or sinner The consequences of this sin is a generational curse upon the offspring of the perpetrator Let s read how this is described in the bible; 1) Matthew 5:32 (NIV) 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery. 2) Romans 13:9-10 (NIV) 9 The commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not covet, and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: Love your neighbor as yourself. 10 Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. 3) James 2:10-11 (NIV) 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11 For he who said, Do not commit adultery, also said, Do not murder. If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. So we can see that man is always ready to break the natural order of life as ordained by God s laws. We do this because;

4 a) Sin is so common in society and to mankind, that it has become readily acceptable as the norm b) We always try to find the good in every situation, albeit it sinful and then we present the product of the sin as a blessing or understandable and therefore acceptable c) In the case where the product or outcome is a child, the euphoria of the birthed child veils the sin, including all anger and hurt d) Where the product or outcome is a survived trauma or assault, then the momentary joy of survival veils the true emotions associated with it. Here the individual and families just want to move on and don t really deal with the short to medium consequences which could be a sexually transmitted disease or even HIV/AIDS The problem is!! Soul ties follows souls and ties them in I would describe a healthy and protected soul tie as follows; 1) A God ordained marriage between two believers in Christ who engage in a mutually beneficial monogamous relationship over the span of their married lives 2) A covenant calling over an individual or group of people for acts of ministry and under which a definitive covenant statement has been made 3) A 5-fold ministry calling to an individual for ministry and service to the aged, children etc An ungodly and unprotected soul tie can be described as follows; 1) The consequence of a generational curse for an act of sinfulness 2) Adultery: The sexual act by a spouse acts outside the boundaries of a covenant marriage 3) Fornication: Sexual relations between unmarried people 4) Abnormal and ungodly relationships 5) Spoken and written agreements and sworn allegiances: Agreements which bind an individual to a third party for physical, sexual, financial or emotional pleasure and gain 6) Sects and Covert institutions; Membership to institutions of questionable reputation which require privacy and indulgences

5 7) Eastern Sport Disciplines; Sport types which require adoration and absolute compliance 8) Religious denominations and groups; Membership to organisations or beliefs which contradict the Word of God 9) Blood Covenants; Spilled or mixed blood, drinking of blood, cutting skin, worship by blood 10) Witchcraft, Hypnotism, Magic, New age beliefs etc 11) Liars; Believe and act upon a perceived truth without discernment and testing 12) False doctrine and Teachers; Acceptance of teaching at face value without discernment 13) Tithing and Offering; Sowing your seed where you are been fed without discernment 14) Abuse; Acceptance of acts of physical, mental, financial, sexual abuse without an intervention 15) Gossip and Assumptions; Speaking out of place and upon unsubstantiated facts
