2 KERRIANNE COX A first Australian natural born leader and world renowned, award wining australian singer/songwriter, KerriAnne began singing at a young agelearning the old songs from ther elders of her ancestral home of Beagle Bay in the threatened Kimberleys, Western Austraia. A troubadour in the femine form and a leader of her community, actively seeking a better vison for the future of the first peoples of this vast land and ultimately a vision that includes everyone. With a powerful, soulful voice reminiscent of the great women of jazz and blues, Kerrianne captivates and moves audiences in a very special way.the profundity of her songs comes from her deep relationship with her people and land, the mother. Since 2006, Kerrianne has devoted herself to working towards a new model of governance for Australia that includes the original sovereigns the first people of this country. Raine and Kavi -'Sisters Healing Earth' I bought a harp at 60, taught myself to play and joined a women's band called Sisters in Lore, singing and playing. I gained much experience and 4 years ago formed my own band, Sisters Healing Earth (SHE). I began writing music, which I had never done before, and as the songs were inspired by the Feminine and Mother Earth I felt a need to share the music. Two years ago we began recording our first cd, containing thirteen original songs, completing it a year later. We play locally at markets and community events, festivals and cafes. As SHE consists of us older women (Crones) and we are comfortable with that, we enjoy being an example of what is possible at any age. I felt very honoured to play at the first Adnyamathanah gathering in Wilpena Pound, and as this was the first time I've been out of the bush for 20 years, quite a challenge. I felt such a connection to the people and the land, I knew I'd return and feel most joyous to be invited back. Kavi (the other member of SHE) will also accompany me to the gathering, so we will share harp, bass recorder, flute, drums and harmonies and a little bit of ukelele.

3 Zebra Finch Aboriginal Men s Group Zebra Finch Aboriginal Men s Group is based at Kura Yerlo in Largs Bay, Adelaide. As a member of the Australian Men s Shed Association, the Zebra Finch Men s Group is uniquely an Aboriginal Men s Shed with a focus on cultural art and craft and artefact making. By fostering a safe and supportive environment with a sense of belonging, a group of dedicated Elders pass down the skills of artefact making to the younger generation, strengthening cultural identity and awareness. This peer support and mentoring approach as men, work alongside their friends in community engagement creates a sense of belonging and wellbeing whilst maintaining cultural beliefs and values. Zebra Finch Aboriginal Men s Group also shares in a sense of reconciliation reaching out to schools and the broader community with awareness and mentoring programmes sharing in community projects. EHULANI STEPHANY Kumu Hula/Ali'i Kahuna Nui My name is Ehulani Stephany, and I'm a Kumu Hula (Hula teacher), and Ali'i Kahuna Nui (High Priestess) of Hawai'i island. I was invited to the 1st annual gathering last year March 2013, and brought with me one of my dancers to share our Hawai'ian culture. It is a great honor to be invited again to the second annual, Ikara Wilpena Adnyamathanha Gathering. This year I will be bringing 3 hula dancers from our Halau (school) to share our indigenous Hawai'ian culture, through our ceremonies, history, stories, hula, chants, crafts, protocol, Hawai'ian herbs, and wellness, along with the Hawai'ian spirit of ALOHA. We look forward to our long journey and the meeting with everyone there as we come together in peace, love, and harmony. Sharing of our different indigenous cultures, along with our talents, and secrets of our cultures, that have been passed down for many generations, we come together as stewards of our 'aina (land). This gathering will bring much strength in all that we do in the perpetuation of our important indigenous cultures. Aloha, a hui hou kakou, (until we all meet), Ehulani Stephany

5 CHRISTINE GREGG NATIVE AMERICAN ELDER TEACHES THE TRADITIONAL NATIVE AMERICAN WAY My Name is Christine Gregg. I am a Mother, Grandmother and now Great Grandmother. I was born in England and adopted as a child. Since 1975 with many dreams guiding my way home and many dreams of the White Buffalo Calf Woman, I found my home within the teachers who shared their extensive life training with me. They are Aboriginal and Native American, including the Tuscarora, Flathead, Kalispel, and Lakota Sioux Nations. In 1991 through direct mentoring, I received my Medicine Pipe (made by Chief Sam Decory, Lakota Sioux Nation) from Isobel Dubray of Allen, Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota. I conduct Sweat lodge Ceremonies, Medicine Drum, Shield Making, Sacred Songs and Bead Work. I Have Knowledge of Ancient Ceremonies. I am a Healer, Poet, Writer and Speaker. At the moment I am helping the HATW 2014 Festival, by inviting and arranging the attendance and details for the three Canadian Indigenous Elders and Sisters who are to share with us their Culture and Wisdom. Also I will be sharing with you all on the HATW Program JOSEPHINE WENINGER - NATIVE CANADIAN ELDER Josephine Weninger, more informally known as Josie, is a Canadian Aboriginal person. Born in the Northwest Territories of Canada, she has lived in three Canadian Provinces and two Territories over her lifetime, giving her a broad Canadian perspective. Josie retired from the Federal Government. Like many Baby Boomers, Josie has worked in a variety of jobs: cleaning in hospitals, day care provider, sales in a fabric store, seamstress, Human Resources Officer and Manager, Superintendent of National Parks and Band Manager. During the years of working in the Federal Government, Josie worked with a group from Australia, New Zealand, and Canada on a proposal to establish a committee at the World Heritage level. Josie s spiritual beliefs led her to choose her final career in Parks Canada. Her ancestry from Metis and Treaty Indians from both maternal and paternal lines has caused her to face being Indian at every step of her career. Contrarily, being Metis and later Status Indian has translated to her balancing the white part of her ancestry. Josie currently lives with her husband, and two grandchildren, in St. Albert, Alberta. They both attend Aboriginal ceremonies and have been very active in the Catholic Church. Josie will be speaking about her life experiences as an Aboriginal woman in Canada.
