The Poetry Project This poem was submitted by Dr. Sylvia Babu. Written by Rabindranath Tagore, (1861-1941), one of India s greatest poets. Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; where knowledge is free; where the world has not been broken up into narrow domestic walls; where words come from the depths of truth; where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into dreary desert sand of dead habit; where the mind is lead forward by Thee into ever widening thought and actioninto that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake. Good Humor from the Canton, Georgia Library Class on Introduction to Facebook Hi Seniors (& other non-facebook users), For those of my generation who do not use and cannot comprehend why Facebook exists: I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles. Therefore, every day I walk down the street and tell passersby what I have eaten, how I feel at the moment, what I have done the night before, what I will do later and with whom. I give them pictures of my family, my dog, and of me gardening, taking things apart in the garage, watering the lawn, standing in front of landmarks, driving around town, having lunch, and doing what anybody and everybody does every day. I also listen to their conversations, give them the thumbs up and tell them I LIKE them. And it works just like Facebook. I already have five people following me: two police officers, a private investigator, a priest and a psychiatrist. Calendar Dates for Senior Adult Ministry January Lunch Bunch takes winter break! The Suggestion of a Most Unusual Christmas Gift th In the November 8, issue of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, writer Kenneth H. Thomas Jr., in his GENEALOGY article, recommends giving the gift of a DNA test for someone. This could help sort out some aspect of your genealogy. Remember, if you don t test, you will learn nothing. If you do, you could connect with relatives who might help you solve some genealogy questions three main groups that test DNA for genealogy often offer a discount at this time of year: familytreedna.com; ancestry.com; or 23andme.com. All three offer the autosomal test; only FamilyTreeDNA offers the Y- chromosome test.
