Christmas Eve Service Last year we had our first Christmas Eve Service. It was such a great time to come together during one of the busiest times of the year and focus on what Christmas is really about. This year, we are doing something similar. Since Christmas Eve is on a Sunday, we are going to have one service at 4:00 PM. There will be no Life Group classes or other evening activities. We will all meet in the main auditorium for a time of Worship through song and God s Word. There will also be a special time of coffee, hot chocolate, music, and other festivities starting at 3:00 PM. During the service, a nursery will be provided for babies through three year olds. We encourage all other children to join you in the main service. There will be a special gift for each child in the Grand Lobby as they enter. So make sure and pick one up! We also ask if anyone is available to assist in the nursery to contact Donise Woodrich at nursery@sbcwr. org. We look forward to celebrating this time with you! Remember, Jesus is the reason we can celebrate all year!

Bible Reading Plan 2018 Have you thought about reading through the Bible in a year, but didn t know where to start? We have something to help! So make sure and pick one up or look it up and let s read through the Bible together this year! Kids Check-In We have started a new check-in system for all babies through 4th grade children. There are kiosk stations at the nursery Welcome Center and both Children s Welcome Center areas. This is a more secure way of keeping track of our kids. Each family goes to the kiosk and can sign in all children at the same time. A sticker tag prints out to place on each of your children and a sticker badge will print out for the parent. There is an option to print out multiple badges as well in case both parents are picking up the kids. There is a very informative and helpful video on our website at secondfamily.tv. We encourage you to watch this video to better understand this new check-in system. We also have Welcome Center volunteers at each kiosk station to help guide you through the check-in process. We know there is a time of learning when new things are introduced, so please do not hesitate to let us help you and your kids! New Year s Eve Service Times This year, New Year s Eve is on Sunday! This means we will not meet for Life Groups or have any evening activities. We will, however, all meet in the Main Worship Center at 10:30 AM to worship our Lord together and hear from His Word. No better way to start off the new year than by learning more about Jesus and how we can make a difference for Him. Join us on the last Sunday of 2017 and prepare your walk with the Lord to be strong during 2018! End of Year Contributions Reminder, all contributions must be received in the church office or postmarked by December 31st to be credited in 2017. Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Starting in 1888, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering was established to empower the international missions efforts for Southern Baptists. After more than a century, the annual offering continues its steady growth. The National Goal this year is $160 Million. Your giving enables missionaries to be sent to make disciples and multiply churches among unreached peoples and places for the glory of God. In 2016, missionaries sent out from the International Mission Board (IMB) were able to build 4,500 new churches where there had previously been none. Also, these missionaries saw 8,700 people come to know Christ all over the world. This is what the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is all about! Helping fund missionaries on the foreign field so they have the necessary means to tell the world about Jesus. What an amazing way to be involved in the kingdom of Christ. Of course a financial gift is a huge blessing, but it cannot go as far or be used as well without prayer. It is important to pray for these missionaries as they are in a different country; some in a place where sharing God s Word is a criminal offense. The National Week of Prayer for International Missions is December 3rd - 10th. We will provide a print out of different missionaries you may pray for each day during the week. Try and make this a family event, teaching your children about missionaries and prayer. Then, continue praying for them throughout the year. Some give specific requests while others list out safety and salvation of those around them. Let s join together and lift these men and women up to the Lord. They are devoting their lives to sharing Jesus with people groups who may never have heard were it not for these missionaries. For 172 years, Southern Baptist churches have sent missionaries to the unreached across the globe. Our collective work has built a foundational identity that has shaped IMB. This Christmas season, we continue that legacy by participating in the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Together we financially support more than 4,000 Southern Baptist missionaries that share the gospel all over the world. This year, our church has set a goal of $50,000. This is only a part of what it takes to keep missionaries on the field. Let s partner together, and with the IMB, to help fund those who have answered the call to go. While we are celebrating Christmas this year, let s give a gift to people we may never meet in order that they may come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. We will see a video at the beginning of each service throughout the month of December highlighting different missionaries as well as different mission ventures the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is able to help orchestrate. If you miss one, please visit our website, secondfamily.tv, and click on the Lottie Moon banner. This will redirect you to their page with tons of information about Lottie Moon, what the funds are used for, and how we can all be involved throughout the year. So join us this year in giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Whether financially or through your prayers, every piece helps aid in the gospel of Jesus Christ being proclaimed to the nations.
