Catholic Apostolic Church, Eastern Rite THE DIVINE LITURGY OF THE HOLY APOSTLES ADAI AND MARI (For new Divine Liturgy participants: the Eastern tradition for making the sign of the cross is to use the thumb and the first two fingers of the right hand joined at the tips (the third and fourth fingers being closed on the palm), and first touch the lips, then the brow, the breast, then the right shoulder, and then the left. Complete by returning the hand to the breast. The hand thus becomes a symbol of the Trinity; the points of contact are a token that every power of speech, mind, heart, soul, and strengths are dedicated to the service of God.)

ORDER OF THE DIVINE LITURGY Sign of the Cross and Greeting Blessed is the kingdom of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and forever, unto ages of ages. Amen. Opening Prayer The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Let us pray. Amen 2

Gloria Presiding Minister and Congregation say: Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth. Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us; you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. For you alone are the Holy one; you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High; Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Service of the Word The Epistle Wisdom! Let us attend! The lesson from Minister of the Word: The word of the Lord. Thanks be to you, Lord. 3

Blessing Prayer Lord, we speak life in your Word; we will flow in that which you have commissioned for this hour. I release my brother and sisters to receive that which is for them to transform them this day, according to the measures of maturity in each of them. Gospel Wisdom! Attend! Let us hear the Holy Gospel. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Saint (N). Glory be to you, Lord Jesus Christ. At the end of the Gospel, the Presiding Minister adds: This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise be to you, Lord Jesus Christ. 4

Homily Nicene Creed Presiding Minister and Congregation say: We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in Begin with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. Preface (Therefore ) we join our voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven who worship you, calling out, praising without ceasing and crying to one another, singing: 5

Presiding Minister and Congregation say: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blesses is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Anamnesis Remembering, therefore, this precept of our salvation, and everything that was done for us: Your cross, the tomb, your resurrection on the third day, your ascension into heaven, your enthronement at the right hand, your second coming, and glorious coming, we offer unto you our heavenly Father the sacrifice of your Son, our Savior, who died for our salvation. We praise you, we bless you, we give thanks to you, O Lord, our God. Epiclesis Bless, and consecrate this bread to be the body of your Christ. And that which is in this cup to be the blood of your Christ: That the Creator Spirit may fulfill the word of your wellbeloved Son changing them both by your presence among us and by your Holy Spirit. Amen. Amen. Amen. Intercessions Remember all those who mourn, the needy, the sick, and the afflicted. And for these your people who look for and await your mercies. Amen. Amen. Amen. 6

Aramaic Lord's Prayer Presiding Minister and Congregation say: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, as in heaven so on earth. Give us bread for our needs from day to day, and forgive us our offences, as we have forgiven our offenders, and do not let us enter into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and glory of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit now and forever unto ages of ages. Amen. Praise the Lord for he is good. For his mercy endures forever. Lord's Prayer Presiding Minister and Congregation say: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and glory... of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit now and forever unto ages of ages. Amen. Praise the Lord for he is good. For his mercy endures forever. 7

Sign of Peace The peace of the Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Communion (For new Divine Liturgy participants: the altar is open to all who have a need or a desire for the living and true Christ to touch their lives in Holy Communion.) Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world: have mercy on us. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world: have mercy on us. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world: grant us peace. Amen. Act of Faith Let us make our act of faith together: Presiding Minister and I believe, O Lord and confess, that you are truly the Christ, the son of the living God, who did come into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. I believe this 8

is truly you own precious blood. Make me worthy to partake of these divine mysteries, unto cleansing of sin, and unto live everlasting. Amen. Communion Hymn or Music May the Lord our God remember us all in his kingdom: O God, save you re people and bless your inheritances. We have seen the true light, we have received the heavenly Spirit, we have found the true faith. Glory be to God who has saved us. Final Blessing May the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son Jesus Christ, our Lord, and in the fullness of his Holy Spirit: the blessing of God almighty the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit descend upon you and remain with you, now and forever, unto ages of ages. Amen. 9
