Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Dear Parishioners: I want to thank all those who were involved in making our Advent Festival such a wonderful event for the Cathedral parish! Our new Parish Events Committee did a great job in organizing the event. Thank you to the Men s Group and Cathedral Women s Club for all their support. A special thanks for George and Anne Hyams for the beautiful poinsettias. It was a great way to begin the beautiful season of Advent. Our next parish event is the popular Oyster Roast on Saturday, 3 February - tickets are now on sale in the office. As we approach Christmas weekend please be sure to consult the Mass schedule. It is a great blessing that as we celebrate the mystery of the Incarnation that we have the privilege of attending Holy Mass twice next weekend: once for the 4th Sunday of Advent and once for Christmas. Our seminarian, Deacon Rhett Williams will be preaching the Masses for the 4th Sunday of Advent. As I have mentioned often at Mass, the best way to prepare for the birth of Our Lord is by making a good confession. The examination of conscience booklets are available on the tables at the back of he Cathedral. Please take one, or two or three and give them to family members. They do make great stocking stuffers! The extra time for Confessions this week are: Tuesday 6-7pm, Wednesday 6-7pm and Thursday 6-7pm. (There will be no Confessions on Saturday 23 December). I pray that you and your family have a blessed Christmas! Msgr.
