MISSION OPPORTUNITY! Helping others in need is one of the most rewarding things we do to share Chris's love. Please prayerfully consider joining a team from First Church as we travel to White Sulphur Springs West Virginia to help re-build homes after terrible flooding. We especially need plumbing and electrical experience, but welcome anyone that is able to help with light construction. Transportation, lodging and meals are provided, we just need your time and servant's heart. The trip will be Sunday October 16 through Friday October 21. Please contact Laurie Furse for more information - laurie.furse@hotmail.com or 864-706-3409. OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE YOUR GIFT(S)! If you play an instrument or sing (solo, trio, duet, etc.), please get the word to any of us in the music portion of the worship service. We would like to provide more music for the early service (and the second service as well). Thank you so much for considering volunteering. You, as well as the congregation, will receive a blessing. We look forward to hearing from you. Trish ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO PLUG IN? Maybe you have been attending worship and are ready to take the next step and engage in a more in depth study of the Bible. You are invited to join the Faith Caravan Sunday School class in a new study Jesus the King by renowned author Timothy Keller. This 9- week study focuses on the gospel of Mark. What do you need to do to be a part of this study? Join us at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings in the Faith Caravan classroom on the 3 floor of the education building. Alan Henderson will begin this study on Sunday September 18th. This a great read! Pick up a copy and let's get started!! UNITED METHODIST WOMEN NEWS: UMW will be participating in the Rutherfordton Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 1st and we are looking for volunteers to help at the booth. Volunteer for a couple of hours and then enjoy the festivities! Save The Date! Purse/Wallet Auction on Friday, October 14th at 7pm. Do you have a new or gently used purse, wallet or briefcase that you would like to donate to the UMW Purse Auction?
