Sam Jones (previously Sarah Jackson) coordinates the scheduling and informing of these volunteers. We currently have a list of people, but we could use a few more. If you are available at least one morning in a week and would like to participate, please call Sam Jones (843)267-3307. Haiti fundraiser Friends, I will be running the Myrtle Beach Half-Marathon on October 21 with Mike Penter, Melody Gildner, and Alex Clayton to raise money for Christian Haitian Orphan Development Professional Jeremie (CHODPJ). This orphanage in Jeremie, Haiti is home to approximately 50 children. For only $8000, we can feed these children for an entire year. Our team is running a combined 52 miles. Consider giving $1 per mile ($52), 5 dollars per mile ($260), or if you don't want to do the math, you can always just give a nice even amount like $2000. You can make checks out to First UMC and designate them for "Haiti Fund" or go to www.fumcmb.org and click on the give button and choose Haiti Fund. ~ Rev. Jonathan Hallelujah Harvest at Child Development Ministry on Oct. 25th All First UMC friends and families are invited and encouraged to join in our fall Hallelujah Harvest celebration from 5:30-7:00pm at our North Campus on 65th avenue.
