OUR LADY OF MERCY PARISH MERRIMACK, NH Children s Liturgy of the Word Beginning on September 9th At the 10:30 Mass September 9th is our first Children s Liturgy of the Word. It will take place at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. We welcome all children who would like to join us to hear a child s version of the gospel. Our goal is to provide a relatable experience for children to understand the Word of God. Children and catechists will be meeting in a separate prayer space. Please invite your family, friends and neighbors to join us!! OFFICE SUMMER HOURS Parish Office: Monday thru Thursday 9am to 3pm CLOSED ON FRIDAY Faith Formation Office: Monday thru Thursday 9am to 12 noon CLOSED ON FRIDAY Parish Offices will be closed on Monday, September 3rd in observance of Labor Day. Beginning on September 4th, parish offices will be open Monday thru Friday from 9am to 3pm. UPCOMING EDGE & LIFETEEN Edge (Gr 6-8) Lifeteen (Gr 9-12) The Upcoming sessions for Edge/Lifeteen August 26th:Edge Sept 2nd: NO CLASS Pray for your enemies Fall Classes will begin for Lifeteen on September 9th and for the Edge on September 16th. All sessions meet from 6:15 to 7:45pm. If your son or daughter is in grades 6 through 12 and planning to attend Faith Formation classes beginning in September, you are invited to our parent information meeting night! The Lifeteen and Edge Programs are a wonderful way for your kids to learn the faith and encounter Christ in a dynamic way! Come to our meeting and find out more about how a typical night runs and what it consists of. Come with any questions or concerns you may have as well! Our Youth Ministry Team will be happy to meet you and talk to you. We hope to see you on September 9th for Lifeteen parents and September 16th for parents of students in the Edge Program. Both meeting will begin at 6:15 pm in the Parish Meeting Room. PROJECT EDEN Project Eden, Inc. is a small non-project organization that was started in 2002 to address the need for education and better nutrition in the rural Honduran population. After 10 years, gardens are producing crops, trees are bearing fruit and students are attending universities. Come join us on Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00 pm in the Church to learn more about this project.

Weeks of August 26th and September 2nd We would like to welcome into our parish community: Grayson James Prestejohn, Lucas Andrew Famulari, Peyton Kennedy Mackey, Alec James Hagerman, Jacob Tyler Corcoran and Sophia Rose Corcoran. May your children bring you joy and happiness in the years ahead. Be assured of our support and prayers as you exercise the responsibility of training your children in the practice of faith. Bishop Peter Libasci invites all couples celebrating an anniversary of 5, 25 or 50 years to attend the Fall Wedding Anniversary Mass. Couples are encouraged to invite select family members to share in the joyous occasion. The celebration will be held on Sunday, October 21st at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph Cathedral, Manchester. To register, please contact the parish office by September 18th. The office will submit all necessary information to the diocese. Once registrations has been completed by the office all registrants will receive an invitation to this special celebration. Couples celebrating other significant anniversaries will be asked to register for the Spring celebration in 2019. To all married couples celebrating 5, 25 or 50 years, congratulations, and we look forward to seeing you at this fall s Wedding Anniversary Mass. Rosary Cenacle Our Lady of Mercy s Rosary Cenacle meets on the 1st Saturday of each month from 8:30 am to 9:45 am in the church. Our September Rosary Cenacle will meet on September 1st. Many years ago, Our Lady of Fatima asked us to pray the rosary together on the First Saturday of each month to bring peace to the world and an end to war. We also pray for our own intentions as well as those we have promised to pray for. Everyone is invited to join us. Bring your family and friends.

The Sanctuary Lamp for the week August 25th through August 31st is lit in memory of Joseph Mitchell, Jr. The Sanctuary Lamp for the week of September 1st through September 7th is lit in memory of Maureen Murray. If you would like to have the sanctuary Lamp lit in memory of or for the intentions of a loved one, please call the parish office at 424-3757. Your prayers are requested for the repose of the souls of Juliette Carmel, Roland Goupel, Larry & Pauline Hall and Hunter Burke. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the families of Juliette, Roland, Pauline, Larry and Hunter. We pray that the God of compassion be with you during this time of sorrow and that He welcomes Juliette, Roland, Larry, Pauline and Hunter into His eternal kingdom of peace. WEDNESDAY PROGRAM The readings for the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time are challenging. In this week's readings we hear that we should not have prejudice against the needy. It is pointed out that God consistently chooses the poor to be rich in faith. Enter in the discussion with those people who gather on Wednesday: Wed. Sept 5 at the parish center at 7 PM. Knitting Ministry The Knitting Ministry will begin meeting again on Friday, September 7th from 12 noon to 2 pm in the Parish Meeting Room.
