NEW EASTER BANNER: "God so Loved the World" The bottom right is shadow, blue earth/sea, the tomb and shroud. It shifts upward into the green of the earth and ordinary time, getting lighter with resurrection light. In the upper left corner is the crown of thorns turned to a crown of gold. The white flowers in the upper part look as if they are flying awaybutterflies- another sign of the resurrection. Jennifer Hamilton created this banner for our congregation. WE RE GLAD YOU RE HERE! In celebration of Easter, your Stewardship Team is offering a gift of Gladiolus bulbs. Members of the Stewardship Team will be in the Gathering area to personally give each family a gift of five bulbs. Happy Easter! ARE YOU NEW TO ADVENT? Welcome! SERMON SERIES ON ACTS AND THE BELOVED COMMUNITY begins next Sunday! DID YOU KNOW? From Your Stewardship Committee Chancel Choir Did you know that singing in the Chancel Choir at Advent Lutheran Church is open to anyone who is of high school graduation age or older? There are no auditions, just a desire to be part of a team that helps in worship. The choir is not considered a performing choir, but a ministry that represents the whole of Advent, making an offering of music each week to God. These musical offerings are part of our Sunday worship three times a month in the second service and once a month in the early service starting, September -June. During special times of the year, such as Easter, the Chancel Choir sings at both services. Phil Robb is the Choir Director at Advent. We are grateful to have four talented accompanists, Andoni Bundros, Ruth Winter, Melissa Gunter and Troy Gunter who share the duties at the piano. We are also blessed to have other musical talent from Gather Musicians. Choir Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 7:30 PM until 9:15 PM in the choir room. There are some social activities during the year, as well. We are excited to add a full-time Director of Music and Worship Arts to our church staff in the months to come. If you have a desire to be a part of this meaningful and important ministry at Advent, please talk with Phil or any member of the choir. The Chancel Choir is invited to take the communion elements to the altar for recognition of your stewardship at Advent and to receive a blessing from Pastor Warner. -Your Gifts and Participation Make a Difference! THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. -Plato 3
