Sunday Worship Celebration The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 November 4, 2018 24 th Sunday after Pentecost 8:00 and 9:30 Welcome and Announcements Prelude *Hymn of Praise UMH 559 Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation *Affirming our Faith The Fear for the Lord... The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short. Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death. The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble. *Passing the Peace of Christ Children s Message (8:00 a.m.) Amy Smith

The MUMC Building Committee met on Thursday, October 18, 2018. PJHoerr representatives updated the committee on the current status of the flood zone, FEMA and Morton village permits. As of that meeting, all systems are GO! Our hope had been the flood study would show the new construction out of a flood plain. However, it shows we will have to have flood insurance until such time as we have a final grade around the addition. At that point we should be able to certify the required elevations and eliminate the need for flood insurance. We discussed a plan for a groundbreaking ceremony and the status of the budget. Prices will likely increase in a few areas because we aren t doing the major work until Spring 2019. PJHoerr assured us they would hold the line on subcontractor increases. The process for change orders was also discussed, and the committee agreed that Mike and Steve will manage all change orders and bring any substantial changes to the committee for review. As always, if you have any questions regarding our building effort, please contact one of the Building Committee members. We welcome your suggestions and questions. Mike and Steve Pictures of our Veterans We want to honor our living veterans on Sunday, November 11...Veteran s Day...during worship. It will include a slide show. Please turn into Amy Smith a photo you would like to share.
