Make one each for frogs, lice, flies, and locust. Pencil box scenes Cover inside of boxes with construction paper opening box away from you with lid flat on table toward children. Securely glue items to box 1. In container of water add 1 drop of red food coloring. To change the blood back to water add 1 Tbsp of bleach. 2. Plastic toy frogs of frog stickers 3. Malt-o-meal for lice 4. Small pieces of black pipe cleaner or plastic flies 5. Plastic toy cattle lying on side 6. Put red/yellow dot stickers all over cardboard tube man, yourself, or the students. 7. Red and yellow tissue for fire, tiny Styrofoam pieces for hail. 8. Plastic ants from the Ants in the Pants game look like grasshoppers. 9. Cover with black construction paper or paint back. Sandbox, or cardboard tube characters (Use the Moses from Moses Goes to Midian lesson, make a matching Aaron and Pharaoh ; use throne from the Joseph and Pharaoh lesson.), shoe box house. Songs (pg 2): The Ten Plagues, Ten Plagues on the Land Moses and Aaron visit Pharaoh (pp 3-4) 10 Plagues Match-books (pg 6) Before class Cut 10 rectangles 4 X 1 3/4 per student. Fold top down stopping 1/2 from bottom. Fold bottom up on top of flap. (see illustration) In class: Glue number on front, Plague name on the small flap, Picture in the inside. Color if desired. This activity takes awhile I broke it up into plagues 1-5 for one class period and plagues 6-10 in the next class period. Alternate activity: 10 plagues lift a flap. The Ten Plagues (tune Trust and Obey ) Down in Egypt one day Moses spoke to Pharaoh, God has sent me His people to lead. Let them leave from this land Where they ve been for so long; Let them go, let them go, today. Pharaoh said, No! They cannot go! And so God sent ten plagues Upon Egypt and Pharaoh. First the rivers to blood, Then the plague of the frogs, Next the lice, then the flies, then murrain. Then cam boils, then cam hail ; Locusts brought by the wind, Then a darkness that covered the land. The tenth plague was worse; It brought death to the land. And so Pharaoh told Moses, Take your people and go! Number seven was fire and hail; Eighth came locust over hill and dale; Ninth came darkness like a veil; These were the plagues on the land. The saddest plague was the first-born died. Pharaoh s people cried and cried; Pharaoh let God s people go Because of the plagues on the land.
