SCRIPTURE Luke 2:21-32 (NKJV) Circumcision of Jesus 21 And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, [a] His name was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb. Jesus Presented in the Temple 22 Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord ), [b] 24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons. [c] Simeon Sees God s Salvation 25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord s Christ. 27 So he came by the Spirit into the temple. The tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:32 Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we, cheerfully give to God our tithes and offerings. Tithing honors God. Are you giving the Lord His tithes or your tips? The word tithe means to give back to God one tenth of your earnings for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world.
