AIMS The aim of Hijaz Weekend School is to provide basic Islamic Education to Muslim students in a best possible and practical way before they enter high school. We all know that this age is considered a crucial time where they start listening different thoughts and provocative arguments. However, if they have strong knowledge and authentic informations of Islam, they will not get confused. We hope that if they attend 6 or more years, they will learn the following topics. A. Recitation of the Holy Quran Letter Recognition, Joining techniques, Reading fluently following Tajweed Rules (Fundamentals of correct recitation of Holy Quran). Children in 3rd grade are expected to read the Quran independently. B. Memorization I. Sura of the Quran -Whole 30th section II. Dua - For daily affaire and some Quranic Dua III. What is needed for Salat, Saum and Hajj IV. Some Hadith which related to daily life C. Quranic Studies Quranic stories, significance of worship and good deeds D. Islamic Manners I. Saying Salam, way of eating and drinking, obeying parents, teachers and elders, importance of Masjid II. Significance of Good deeds E. Aqeeda About Allah, Prophets, Holy Books, Angels, Jinn, Signs of Last Day, Hereafter, Hell and Heaven, concept of Intercession F. Islamic Law I. Salah - Significance Way of Prayers, Prerequisites, Mandatory Elements, Semi- Mandatory, Prophetic Manners, Aspects break the Salah, Dislikes etc.!1

ACHIEVEMENT The way to achieve the above aims, HWS has a six-year strong educational plan. It is based on two major steps: Islamic Studies Diploma in Alim/Alima Islamic Studies: A.Prek & Kindergarten B.1st Grade & 2nd Grade C.3rd & 4th Grade D.5ht & 6th Grade Diploma in Alim/Alima: E.7th and 8th Grade F. 9th Grade and Above Bridge Course: It is designed for those who are not coming from the lower level of HWS or could not complete it. Through this program, they will be able to catch the required level of education for intended classes. Usually, this special bridge course will be for two months, however, not every student of this program has to attend full classes. With the recommendation of the teacher, a student may stop it at any time. During attending this course, every student must keep on attending their regular classes based on their grade levels too. Parent are required to pay extra fee for it. Fees: Registration fee is $50. Monthly donation is $50/Student, however parents having more than one child get a discount. Required books are available at the office with moderate prices.!4
REGISTRATION 1. Registration: Muslims are encouraged to register their children in HWS according to the following schedule. a. By mail - For existing students, usually done in July/August. b. Online - For new and existing students, however, new students applications are not considered approved until they meet the principal. c. In person- Admission forms are available on the front desk of Jama Mecca Masjid during July/August. Note: Though July and August are supposed to be the admission period, however in an unusual circumstances, principal or chairman may allow some students to join the class during academic year. 2. Placements: After primary registration, all new students are required to go through placement test to confirm their ability for the needed level. In case of unsatisfied result, they will be placed in Bridge Course (BC) as it is described earlier. A. 1st Level for ages 4 to 5 (Every student is welcome without any test) B. 2nd Level for ages 6 to 7 (Must clear previous class or/and BC) C. 3rd Level for ages 8 to 9 ((Must clear previous class or/and BC) D. 4th Level for ages 10 to 11 (Must clear previous class or/and BC) E. 5th Level for above 12 (They must enrol in July, so as they join Summer school and get ready for the needed requirement of the level.!5

RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Parents should drop their children ten minutes before school timing. Early dropping may result in supervision of the teacher. As well as they are advised to make Zuhr prayer at the masjid, so they can pick up their children on time. 2. Students must maintain discipline of HWS and follow the instructions of teachers and school staffs. Any damage or breaking caused by the students will be compensated from the parents. 3. Boys should wear black pants/pajama and white shirts/qameez, with a cap on the head. 4. Girls should wear black pants/pajama and white shirts/qameez, with a white scarf on the head. 5. Eating inside Masjid is not allowed. If students are bringing snacks for the break, they should eat them in the dining area outside of the masjid. 6. Fees are due ahead of the current month. You may enroll in auto-pay program through your bank account or your credit cards. For more informations, please feel free to contact principal of HWS. 7.
