In Loving Memory A Celebration of the Life of Allan Joseph Smith, Jr. May 15, 1935 March 20, 2015

In Loving Memory The nurse said, A week, and we came; the nurse said, Today, and he left. So ended our winter of uncertainty. This equinox was sacred. A perigee moon, a solar eclipse, and a diamond ring. Our little life is rounded. It s time to unpack some words from shrouded storage: words like unbidden and stalwart, columbarium and fortitude. Relief. Release. Peace. Words like My father s house. These words have a time and a purpose. They are ours for as long as we need. The tempest will pass, and another season arrive. ~Carol Colby March 23, 2015 Allan Joseph Smith, Jr. May 15, 1935 March 20, 2015 Funeral Mass Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church Greensboro, Georgia Father Paul Williams Officiating

Funeral Mass Order of Rite for Allan Joseph Smith, Jr. Celebrant: Father Paul Williams Prayer Of St. Francis Of Assisi Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love: for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
