IIII MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS Next Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday. In between the 8:30 am and 11 am Masses, the choir will lead us in the singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, which Our Lord gave to St. Maria Faustina. He urged her to encourage others to say it, promising extraordinary graces to those who would recite this special prayer. The Legion of Mary will provide prayer cards indicating how the Chaplet is done. Our Lord specifically asked that the Chaplet of Divine Mercy be recited as a novena, especially on the nine days before the Feast of Divine Mercy (April 8 this year). The Legion of Mary is providing leaflets containing the novena prayers which should be started on Good Friday. Look for these at the entrance to the church. PASTOR'S PIECE A BLESSED EASTER TO YOU ALL! WELCOME VISITORS AND FAMILY! As we celebrate the Lord's Resurrection on Easter, we know that this is "good news" not only for Our Lord but good news for us who will rise with the Lord after our death and live with him and our deceased brothers and sisters forever. HE IS RISEN, ALLELUIA! JOIN US IN BARKING TO THE CHOIR It is not too late to join us in Barking to the Choir! Each Monday a group or 12-16 of us get together to talk about a chapter of Fr.Greg Boyle's book. We meet in a parish meeting room from 9:15-10:15 am and talk about a chapter a week, This Monday, April 2 we will be on Chapter 3. Come and join us whether you have read the chapter or not. OUR PARISH BROCHURE INSERTED TODAY In the bulletin today, you will find a copy of our parish brochure. Perhaps many of you already have a copy. If so, I encourage you to share this copy with a neighbor or a friend. Many people might be interested in our little parish and you could be the instrument of inviting them by passing on this brochure. Don't forget as the same time to tell them what you love about our parish! THANK YOU SAMANTHA JOHNSON! Sam Johnson is retiring (after Easter) from her role as flower and liturgical environment coordinator for our parish. What a magnificent job Sam and her team have done in decorating the Church during the past two years! I love her imagination and the beauty of the church under Sam's direction. Sam and her husband Mark had already moved to Vienna six months ago, but have faithfully been coming back each week to St. Peter to decorate the Church-a generous sacrifice each week. After Easter, I need volunteers who would like to provide flower arrangements for the church each week. Perhaps those who have gardens would be willing to share their flowers with the church? Email me if you would like to volunteer: grinnellhorace@gmail.com. You can do it once or regularly whatever you choose! THANK YOU MARY ANN KRAMMES! Mary Ann Krammes has retired from both doing the parish bulletin each week as well as being St. Peter's Cemetery Administrator. We owe a deep debt of thanks to Mary Ann for all the many years of wonderful work! Everyone has noticed the bulletin each week and I have received many compliments about it over the years that Mary Ann has written the bulletin. Karl Selzer is the new Bulletin editor. You can contact him at the following email: stpeterparishbulletin@gmail.com. Mary Ann has been the administrator of the cemetery since the very beginning in 2006. All who have had friends and relatives buried in our cemetery, know what a competent, kind, and compassionate job she has done through the past 12 years. The new co-administrators will be Ruth Welch and Steve Snyder who can be contacted with a new email: saintpeterscemetery@gmail.com -Fr. Tuck Grinnell 0707 81.
