Page 4 Our Lady of Lourdes, Toledo, April 8, 2018 Dear friends and parishioners, In the event you missed the news Palm Sunday, Bishop Daniel Thomas has named a new pastor for Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, effective July 2. The new pastor will be Fr. David Bruning, who is coming from St. Caspar s in Wauseon. I have known him for a long time, since he was attending St. Meinrad College in Indiana, while I was in the (graduate) School of Theology. I don t want to spoil your own meeting with him, so I ll tell you just one special characteristic he has (and that we do not in any way share): He is a runner (as in daily running, Marathon running, and so forth). Before he gets here, some of us are making an effort to revive the Pastoral (or Parish) Council that is not just required by local canon law, but is, I believe, going to play an important role in helping the parish to make solid decisions that make the most of the parish s beautiful new church and its longtime commitment to hospitality and the corporal works of mercy. The liturgies of the Sacred Triduum and Easter were wonderful. I want to thank everyone (staff and dozens of volunteers) who worked so hard to make them prayerful and beautiful! Fr. Page 6 Our Lady of Lourdes, Toledo, April 8, 2018 All U- Can Eat Spaghetti Supper The Little Sisters of the Poor will host an All U- Can Eat Spaghetti Supper on Wednesday, April 11th from 4 to 7:00 pm (Take out available). The event will be held at the Sacred Heart Home for the Elderly at the corner of Navarre and Wynn Roads across from Pearson Park. Dinner will include spaghetti, homemade sauce, garlic bread, hot or cold beverage, tossed salad and dessert. Adults are $8, Children 3 to 12 years are $5 and under 2 eat for free.
