it is knowing Christ that matters Jeremy Park, Presenter of RMornings and Just a minute. I have heard many messages about Jesus 40 days of temptation in the wilderness, about His meeting with Satan. So many times I have heard that it is all about using scripture to rebuke the devil, about knowing scripture and the importance of our ability to handle scripture correctly. Whilst there is obviously truth in this I don t think this is the real point of this passage. It is only as I had passed over this part in Matthew 4 and got to Matthew 7 where Jesus has just warned His disciples that it is knowing Christ that matters (Matthew7: 21-23), and then in the following verses (24-27) it becomes clear that when we truly know Him we will then act upon His word which will be the solid foundation for our lives. When Jesus was tempted by Satan He replied using scripture but with the authority of one who didn t just know it, but lived it. As one who had experienced the power of it and knew the Author behind it. The Scribes and Pharisees would have known the scriptures better than any of the early disciples of Jesus but never experienced the power of the author of those scriptures because they did not know Him, were not obedient to Him. At the end of the passage about the person who builds upon the Rock of God s word, we see how the disciples saw first-hand the difference between someone who knew the Scriptures and one who was the Author of them. And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings that the people were astonished at His teaching for He taught them as one having authority and not as the Scribes Matthew 7:28-29 If we are to live with the authority of the word in our lives then we are to live according to the will of the one who authored them.

Look at what the Lord has done! Two months ago on 20th May 2015, during Time for Revelation, my husband Keith and I felt compelled to call Revelation TV and support the work of the station. At the time my husband was scheduled for an MRI scan at the hospital. The Consultants that we had previously seen, were confident that he had a tumour on his pituitary gland. When I phoned Revelation TV I was able to speak with Breda Smyth. Breda was very welcoming and spoke with me at length. 15 minutes into the conversation she prayed with me and declared that if in fact there were a brain tumour, that it would shrivel up and die. On the 21 st May my husband was moved in his spirit and declared by faith that there was no brain tumour and that the Lord had healed him. 3 days later, when he got the results of the MRI scan, to our amazement, it showed no brain tumour. We thank God for what He has done in our lives. This is a miracle! -Ruth Campbell Right: Keith Campbell she prayed that if in fact there were a brain tumour, that it would shrivel up and die. MIDDLE EAST REPORT Friday 7th August at 7pm Join Simon Barrett as he interviews His Excellency Daniel Taub, Israel s Above: Ambassador keith Campbell to the United Kingdom, inside the Israeli Embassy in London. In one of his last interviews before he returns to Israel with his family, after serving four years in his post, he gives a detailed account of what he has achieved as Ambassador and some of the challenges he faced here in Britain representing the Jewish state. He also discusses the current strategic challenges facing Israel in the Middle East today with threats posed by the Islamic State on Israel s northern border, to the nuclear threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the importance of Christian support for Israel and the Jewish Community.

He was named 2006 Artist of the Year by the Australian Christian Music Charts. Nathan made his first public performance in 1993, and has since been involved in Christian ministry through writing, singing and speaking. Over this period he has completed approximately 1200 performances. His work is wide reaching, and incorporates visits to schools, churches, conventions, prisons and the media. Nathan currently lives in Nashville with his wife Cassie. We were delighted to have Nathan join us in the studio recently and we hope that you enjoy this special interview.
