To reserve a time to donate blood, or for questions, please contact Laura Eanes at 243-8162 or email littlerenovations@yahoo.com. INSIDE THIS ISSUE: Children s Activities 3 Youth Calendar 4 Mission & Outreach 5 Safe Driving Course 6 Calendar of Events 7 From the Greens: Our daughter, Lauren, was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia on April 9th. That day and weeks following she received blood transfusions and platelets necessary to her survival and the beginning of her treatments. Because of your prayers and the doctors at Children s Hospital, she is doing well. During the next couple of years there will be times she will need additional blood. We pray that you will come out on Sunday, June 17, Father s Day, and give the gift of life for not only Lauren but for all those in need. We are so very grateful for Ascend Sunday School class and the entire Trinity family for all the love and support you have shown our family. - May and David Green Welcome Rev. Nathan Carden A LOOK AT JUNE 10 1,172 Worship Attendance 682 Sunday School Attendance What a great day this Sunday was as our Youth Choir presented their Homecoming Concert at the 8:45 AM service and in Contact. 36 of these students spent the week ministering through music in Tennessee and Washington D.C. singing in churches and nursing homes. We are proud of the way these students represent Christ and Trinity with their commitment, their talents, and their enthusiasm. This really kicks off a busy summer of ministry here at Trinity. This week our 3rd-5th Graders are involved in Day Camp a great week of outdoor learning and fellowship. Trinity s Children s Ministry is sponsoring Music Camps, Art Camps and Basketball Camps throughout the summer. Vacation Bible School the big event will be July 16-19. More than 50 Mid High Students and adults will leave on their summer mission project with Alabama Rural Ministries next week. 121 High School Students will participate in SOS, a mission project in Memphis the week of July 8-14. In addition, this Saturday, a team of students and adults leave for an international mission experience in Panama where we have worked for years with our missionary Rhett Thompson. Our students are leading the way in giving us an example of servant ministry in the name of Christ. Almost a hundred adults signed up for summer small group study offerings. Amy Lewis has a busy summer of ministry planned with our Senior Adults. On Sunday, June 24, I will begin a summer sermon series on Favorite Bible Verses. This Sunday, June 17, we welcome our new associate pastor, Nathan Carden. He will be recognized at the 8:45 AM service and will preach at the Contact service for the first time. Nathan and his wife Kam, have two children a son, Henry and a daughter, Amelia. We welcome this very talented and dedicated family to Trinity. Finally, let me say a word of thanks for your giving. All of the ministries listed above are made possible by our faithful stewardship. Simply put, your giving = ministry. None of these life changing ministries could happen without your support. Balls! Exercycles! Computers! Today I was at Central Park Community Recreation Center discussing plans for art with their students this summer. I discovered that the center desperately needs balls. Tennis balls, basketballs, beach balls, and just big bouncy balls. The center serves over 30 children, and all they have are a few weathered and worn basketballs, ½ dozen old tennis balls and some old tennis rackets. Also, Seniors come to ride the one exercycle they have. There is also a need for computers. If you know of someone or a company that is upgrading and has some to donate, please contact me about any donations you might have. Email me at Janet Holloway, janetlholloway@yahoo.com.
