In his eleven year tenure, Lantz worked with church leaders in the southeastern United States and was in contact with civil rights leaders including Martin Luther King, Jr. Lantz later served as Associate Professor of Communications and Ecumenics at the Interdenominational Theological Center, a consortium of six predominantly African American denominations and is now the largest African American theological school in the United States.
