Connecting the Linwood Church Family! Ever have a conversation with someone you ve been going to church with for months, and you should know their name, but can t remember? It is embarrassing to admit, but many of us probably have! Wouldn t it be helpful to have a pictorial directory for a quick reminder? Earlier this year in February, everyone was encouraged to be included by either getting their picture taken at Linwood or providing a photo to the church office. Thank you to everyone who allowed us to have a photo of you! We have 60ish photos. However, in the last Linwood Church directory, there were 100+ photos. We believe we can get more photos for this directory let s aim for 100ish! Help us put a face and current contact information to the name to help everyone feel more connected! We need your help for the remainder of October...but, it is easy to be included in the directory by one of the methods listed below: 1. Get your photo taken! One of our click-happy members is thrilled to take your photo Today after church, anyone who wants their photo taken can go to the location noted below. While there, you can also confirm your contact information. TODAY S PHOTO LOCATION: Mother s Room TIP: For quality photos, we recommend wearing bright colors, but avoid prints and plaids, if possible. 2. Simply email your information to the church office at email@linwoodsda.org with a photo to use. If you have any questions regarding the church directory, please contact the church office. Thank you all for making an effort to be a part of Linwood s next directory! Without you, it will not be complete. October 27, 2018 Page 8

It is the mission of the Better Living Center (BLC) to reach beyond the primary food bank provisions and support the clients in every aspect of their lives. Christmas provides opportunities to reach out and to establish connections that might not be available at a different time of the year. As we are all getting ready for Christmas, as Linwood has done in 2016 and 2017, here is another opportunity to help support the BLC in their mission in 2018 as well and the families that visit the BLC. There are about 250 children each month impacted by the BLC. The Linwood Church Family is taking on the challenge of providing a gift for each one of those children. Better yet, if we are able to provide TWO gifts, imagine the joy that would create. UNITED we could be very successful in reaching that goal. We have already been blessed with a project coordinator, Kelly Meyer has volunteered to lead in this ministry again. Praise the Lord! For this project to continue being successful, more help is essential. October 27, 2018 Page 10

You can be involved and support the project 1. Pray for the Project: Trust the Holy Spirit will guide the right gift to the right child. 2. Monetary Donations: If you have a desire to make a difference in this capacity by donating monetarily, mark Christmas Gifts on your tithe envelope. Donations can also be mailed to Linwood mark the envelope: Christmas Gifts Linwood Church PO Box 48273 Spokane, WA 99228 3. Time Donations: Always appreciated and needed. A count of (5) five people to shop for gifts and / or participate in a wrapping party, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, November 25. Time to be announced as the date gets closer. If you are interested, please call or text Kelly at the number below. If there are any suggestions of items to get and / or questions, please call or text Kelly Meyer at 509-990-0285. Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we continue to make a difference for Jesus. Blessing for Children and Their Parents: *Time for us to UNITE as a church and bring some joy to others. *Opportunity to reach out to our community. *Opportunity to show the Love of Jesus - Because He Cares, We Care. We Believe... 1. That the Bible is the final authority for all belief and practice for the Christian (2 Timothy 3:16-17). 2. That there is one God revealed in three persons God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17: Genesis 1:26). 3. That we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (John 3:16, 1 John 5:12-13 & Ephesians 2:8-9). 4. That Christians who have been redeemed by Jesus will live in obedience to all of His commandments (John 14:15). 5. That Jesus will come again very soon (John 14:1-3). 6. That the requirements of the Ten Commandments are still binding on all people today, including the seventh-day Sabbath of the fourth commandment (Matthew 5:17, Exodus 20:8-11). 7. That the judgment which will decide the eternal destiny of all people is now taking place in heaven (Daniel 8:14, 9:25-27). 8. That when a person dies one does not go immediately to heaven or hell, but rests in the grave as one who is asleep awaiting the resurrection (Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, John 5:28-29, 11:11-14). 9. That after Jesus comes again, the people of God will judge the world with Jesus, following which fire will fall from heaven to completely devour the wicked and purify the earth (1 Corinthians 6:2-3, Revelation 20:4-9, 2 Peter 3:10-13). 10. That God, as a loving Father, wants us to live healthful lives avoiding foods and substances He has declared unfit, and actively pursuing positive lifestyle habits (Leviticus 11, Proverbs 20:1, Daniel 1:8, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). 11. That the followers of Jesus will live pure and honorable lives making sure their business, recreation and relationships meet the Bible standard (Philippians 4:8). 12. That God gives spiritual gifts to His people for the purpose of ministry. Given by the agency of the Holy Spirit gifts provide the abilities and ministries such as faith, healing, prophecy, proclamation, teaching, administration, reconciliation, compassion, charity and other gifts. (1 Corinthians 12; Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Peter 4:10, 11). 13. That the Seventh-day Adventist Church fills a special role in the world today to prepare people for the 2nd coming of Jesus (Rev. 14:6-13). 14. That we will grow as we spend time with God in prayer, as we feed on His word and share His love through witnessing.(2 Timothy 2:15; Ephesians 6:18; Galatians 5:22-25) 15. That the Bible teaches that all who have accepted Jesus as their Savior/Lord, and who intend to obey all the teachings of the Bible should be baptized by immersion (John 3:5; Mark 16:16 & Matthew 28:19-20).
