2016 ANNUAL MEETING monday, june 6 CHURCH: Healing and saving the world Th e FIRST CHURCH of CHRIST, SCIENTIST Boston, Massachusetts

Welcome to Annual Meeting WELCOME We re so glad you are here! Whether you have come from across the street or from halfway around the world, we know it s because you love Christian Science and because you are keenly aware of the difference a real sense of Church can make in our world. Our Leader may have written the following excerpts as part of her Message to The Mother Church for 1901, but we hope you feel, as we do, that Mary Baker Eddy s words are speaking directly to each one of us as we gather together today: Beloved brethren, to-day I extend my heart-and-handfellowship to the faithful, to those whose hearts have been beating through the mental avenues of mankind for God and humanity; and rest assured you can never lack God s outstretched arm so long as you are in His service. As Christian Scientists you seek to define God to your own consciousness by feeling and applying the nature and practical possibilities of divine Love: to gain the absolute and supreme certainty that Christianity is now what Christ Jesus taught and demonstrated health, holiness, immortality. The highest spiritual Christianity in individual lives is indispensable to the acquiring of greater power in the perfected Science of healing all manner of diseases. Christian Science appeals loudly to those asleep upon the hill-tops of Zion. It is a clarion call to the reign of righteousness, to the kingdom of heaven within us and on earth, and Love is the way alway (Message for 1901, pp. 1 2, 35).
