Listen... Can you hear it? It s God s voice, calling you to Stewardship. It is amazing to me how many unique ways and reasons people come to Stewardship. As unique as each of us is, so too is our call to share what God has abundantly given us: our own special time, talents and treasure; in service to God and others. October 22 nd through November 5th, we will take the time to look at our lives through the lens of Stewardship. Our emphasis this year will be Legacy. And the main question is, what legacy are we leaving for the future generations? What legacy are we leaving in regards to how we live our faith? To answer this question we must think about stewardship. It s no secret that throughout Scripture we are charged to leave a legacy that points others to the wonderful grace of God through Jesus Christ. In fact, in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NRSV) we are challenged with these words, Hear, O Israel: The L is our God, the L alone. 5 You shall love the L your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6 Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. 7 Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. 8 Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblemon your forehead, 9 and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. When we are faithful with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness we leave a phenomenal legacy of faith! I challenge you to begin praying about your legacy. Pray that God will guide you as you seek to leave a legacy of faith through First United Methodist Church of Pace.

NEW ADDITION TO CHILDREN S FALL FESTIVAL SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29, 4:00-5:30 This year, in addition to the usual activities we have at our Festival, we are planning to add TRUNK OR TREAT to this event. If you re not familiar with Trunk or Treat, it is a fun activity in which adults decorate the Trunk of their car, (and even dress up themselves, if they desire), and then hand out goodies to the children as they visit each of the car trunks. It s loads of fun for the kids, and the trunk decorators as well. We would like to have a minimum of 5 cars (10 would be awesome); so please consider being a part of our First Annual TRUNK OR TREAT at Pace FUMC! CHILDREN S FALL FESTIVAL SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29 4:00-5:30 P.M. Once again this year we will have boxes available for you to use; however you may also use a plastic box that can also be useful for the recipient. Decide if you're going to be buying for a boy or a girl. The age ranges are 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Then you'll fill the box with gifts. Select a larger WOW item, such as a soccer ball (deflated) with pump, or stuffed animal... then fill with other toys, hygiene items and school supplies. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your box. You can also include a personal note and photo. If you pay the $9.00 shipping cost online you can receive a tracking label and Follow Your Box and find out where it ends up. Finally, bring your box back to Pace First United Methodist Church during National Collection Week (November 13-20) and drop it off. Or you can bring your unboxed items to the Pace FUMC Operation Christmas Child Box Packing Party (Date To Be Determined) and join in the food, fun and fellowship as we get together to pack our boxes and pray over them.
