We desire to reach this generation with hope, love, and most of all, God s Word! We will have pizza and sweets, a wonderful speaker, praise and worship, door prizes, and a Fun Make Up Tutorial Session. Our Guest Speaker is: Alicia Ivey Alicia has a heart for teenage girls and helping them find hope in the struggles that they face each day. Merry Christmas from Grace in the Wilderness Ministries! This Christmas, I challenge you to see the Joy not the Jealousy. Dear Friends not the Drama. Presence not the Presents. And the Love not the Loud Crowds. Christmas can be a busy time of year for everyone, so slow down, take a deep breath, and remember what Christmas is all about. How will you keep Christ in Christmas? With all the parties, family gatherings, Christmas lights, and presents, it s easy to get distracted and forget the true reason for the season. A lot of times, we don t forget the reason but we do get overwhelmed by the season itself.
Things to Remember this Christmas 1) Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Remember that without Christ, there would be no Christmas, no salvation, and no hope for the future. Jesus came to this world to save the us all from the sin death we deserve. He not only left Heaven to be a baby in a manger, but to be a Savior, a Savior that would be hated, despised, and one day die on the cross for the sins of this world. Our hope comes from the fact that Jesus Christ came to Earth to save us from our sins and one day we will see Him again. 2) Christmas is not only about giving. The Grinch had it right about one thing, Christmas perhaps, means a little bit more. Christmas is more than gifts and money, it s a reminder each year of the love of Jesus Christ. One time a year millions of people will gather together and GIVE each other gifts, love, and time. Enjoy Christmas and don t let the Christmas gifts distract you from the true Gift of Jesus Christ. Share the love, show Christ to others this Holiday season. 3) Give back. If you can t give financially this Christmas, find a way that you and your friends and family can give back to the community. One easy way to give back is to clean out your closet and donate old coats, blankets, and gloves to United Christian Ministries. Start a coat drive within your church and keep the community warm this Christmas. You can also write Christmas cards and give them to your neighbors, friends, and family. A simple card can make a big smile! Whatever you do, do it in the name of Jesus and share His love with others!
