Dates to Remember June 2-5: Laugh Out Loud Pictures June 21: Father s Day June 22: Donuts for Dad July 3: CLOSED for Independence Day July 18: Open House, 9:30-10:30 July 29: Last Day of School July 30-31: CLOSED Teacher Workdays June Birthdays 1: Mrs. Samantha 2: Virginia, Lydia 3: Mitchell, Miss Ashlee 5: Peyton 10 Miss Hannah 11: Edward A Note from the Office 14: Eli, Sutherlin 19: Mrs. Sherry 20: Connor W. 21: Zachary R. 25: Tatum 22: Mrs. Jennifer The month of June brings so many wonderful reminders of our Creator and His magnificent creation. The first day of summer comes on June 21 st. As a child I loved summers and playing outside until after dark. A dear old friend of mine recently posted, You never forget the neighborhood kids you played with. If you grew up in a small community, you know what I am talking about. Lightening bugs, badminton, going barefoot, and swimming were some of my favorite pastimes. We rode bikes all over the town and our dogs ran alongside us. There was a large sense of freedom we didn t know would not always be. Today our children must be taught early on what is safe and what is not. Think about the things you once thought were safe, but now question. God s word teaches us to trust in Him and not in the things of this world. In God, whose word I praise in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:4. But sometimes we are afraid. Sometimes our human nature causes us to dwell on the unknown. The chaos and confusion is where we become frightened and insecure. We must remember our Lord is with us. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace as in all the congregations of the Lord s people. 1 Corinthians 14:33. And then it becomes our charge to teach our children this lesson. As with all lessons, they learn more from our actions than our words will ever be able to convey. This summer, we are sending 36 children to Kindergarten for the first time. Also, most of the rest of our students will be moving up to the next class here at the preschool. Please help your child realize the positives about new experiences. They become scared due to the unknown and they look to you for security and comfort. When you are not sure how to exemplify peace and calm to your child because it seems like a foreign concept in your own life, recognize your need for Christ. He wants you to lay your burdens at His feet and trust Him completely. What better way to model a perfect way to live every day to your own child and the world around you? For this you will be blessed and you will be a blessing to others! Saved by His Grace, Mrs. Janine and Mrs. Lori 1

Exciting news! We have the opportunity for our children to participate in a special photography session June 2nd-5th! Laugh Out Loud Photography will be here to take specialty pictures of the children on those dates. They provide all props and costumes all you need to do is plan to pick up a few minutes early on your child s day to view the proofs. See Janine or Lori for further information. Butterflies Summer is this month! I can hardly believe it! We re just two months away from the new school year. This month we will focus on how God made us so we can do good things. We will learn about the Bible character Noah. Our Bible verse is We are created in Christ Jesus for good works, Ephesians 2:10. We will work on the letters L, M, N, and O. Our color this month is blue and our shape is rectangle. We will keep busy with different summer crafts this month. In Christ, Mrs. Jennifer and Miss Chely Caterpillars It s hard to believe we are already entering our sixth month of the year. Summer is just around the corner, and if you have felt the heat lately, you would think it is already here. Vacations are being planned as families get ready to spend quality time together having fun. I will be taking my vacation during the week of June 8-12 th. I m looking forward to some much needed rest and quite time. Our class is busier than ever as all but a couple of the babies are moving in some form or fashion. It s getting harder and harder to know where everyone is at any time during the day. Whew!! Next month we start celebrating birthdays, as three of our little friends will be turning one. In His Service, Mrs. Bernice, Mrs. Barbie, and Miss Ashley We wish all our wonderful fathers a very happy Father s Day! As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. Psalm 103:13 2

Bible Concept: God made me so I can do good things. The Bumblebees: Exploring God s World Bible Verse: God made us to do good. Ephesians 2:10 Objectives: Bible Stories: 1. To tell what good things God helped Noah do. 2. To name good things we can do. 3. To practice doing good things in class. Building the Big Boat, Loading the Big Boat, Safe in the Boat, and God Sends a Rainbow Bumblebees Can you believe it is already May?! Time is flying by! We are looking forward to two more beautiful months together before your little ones march happily off to the big kid side of the preschool! This month, we will teach the children about the amazing truth that God made us so we can do good things as we walk through the Biblical account of Noah (building and loading the boat, the journey during the flood, and God s provision of a rainbow after safely resting the boat on dry ground). We will also work on the letters K, L, M, and N. In Christ, Mrs. Jessica W. and Miss Courtney Crickets WOW!! June is such a busy month...summer begins, vacations, water play at preschool, AND we celebrate our fathers! Happy Birthday to Sutherlin on the 14th, Aiden on the 19th, Zach on the 21st, and Tatum on the 25th. In the month of June, we will be reviewing the following Biblical accounts: Fishing with Jesus and Jesus Heals the Paralyzed Man Feeding Five Thousand and Jesus Walks on Water Lost Lamb and Jesus Loves the Children Christ s Crucifixion and Resurrection and Jesus Appears Alive and Returns to Heaven In Christ, Ms. Sheila and Mrs. Sherry Grasshoppers It is finally summer and the weather is getting hotter. Please check your child s cubby to make sure he has a change of clothes for the summer heat. With the arrival of the hot weather, we will start water play, beginning with the first week of June. Our water play days will be on Thursday and Friday. We will go out at 9:30 to start our fun in the water. Please try to make sure you are here by then so each child can enjoy his water play time. Make sure you bring your child wearing a bathing suit (under his clothes), and bring a towel and a change of shoes for when we are done with water play. The children will need to wear water-play shoes while we are outside getting wet. Crocs and flip flops are NOT approved, but water shoes or an extra pair of tennis shoes/sandals are fine. The following are some things we have planned for the month of June. We will have more info for you as it gets closer to the time. June 1-5: Camping Week; June 8-12: Character Week; June 22-26: Swamp Animals; June 29-July 1: Spirit Week We love you all and are so very glad that you share your children with us each and every day. In Christ, Ms. Vicki, Mrs. Abigail, and Miss Bethany 3

Fireflies Beach time and sea life topics mixed with weekly water play days make for summer fun in the month of June. The Bible focus for June includes the Old Testament stories of Moses floating as a baby in a basket on the Nile River, being called at the burning bush, taking us through the plagues, passing through the Red Sea, and crossing the desert. Counting, alphabet, and number review games and songs will also be a part of each day. We pay tribute to our fathers this month as we thank God for fathers and ask God s blessings on the work of their hands. Thanks for sharing your children with us! Serving Him, Mrs. Laurel and Mrs. Haley Dragonflies Hard to believe that it s June already and quite warm outside. If you want sunscreen for your little kiddo, please be sure to bring some for us to apply in the afternoon, along with the properly completed medication form. We have to have this on file per the DCD in order to apply the sunscreen. Please apply it to your child in the morning before coming to school. Now that we have finished our alphabet from A to Z, we are going to review every week. This month, we will review the letters M, F, W, and I. We will also review all our numbers 1-15. For Bible, we will continue our Hall of Faith Heroes stories and have some fun along with each theme. Here is the overview of June: June 1-5: Moses. Weekly theme: Camping June 8-12: Plagues of Egypt. Weekly theme: Character Week. (As it gets closer to this week, we will let you know what each day will be). June 15-19: Crossing the Red Sea. Weekly theme: Swamp Animals June 22-26: Joshua & the Walls of Jericho. Weekly theme: Way Out West. We have a special day during this week. The 24 th is bring your bear to school day. June 29 July 2: Independence Week. We are going to round out our month with a bang. Have a Happy July 4 th weekend! Mrs. Heather and Ms. Meganne Turtles This is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it!!! June has finally arrived!! With that in mind, we would like to say farewell to Jolene, Connor and Brianna. It was wonderful having you in the Turtles class! We will miss you! We are super-excited!!! Summer fun begins this month! Water play will be on Thursday and Friday of each week. Please remember to have your child dressed with swimsuit on under clothing, water shoes, sunscreen, beach towel, and a bag for clothes, all labeled with your child s name. During the month of June we will also do activities to prepare for kindergarten and talk about what life is like in a Kindergarten class. Finally, it is time for teacher conferences. Please look for the sign-up sheet in the class. We will conduct teacher conferences throughout the month of June. Blessings! Mrs. Krystal and Miss Kaylee 4

4 s Kingdom Kitties Korner June finds us starting to exchange our good-byes, our hugs, and a few tears as the graduates begin to leave for the summer and head on off to begin their Kindergarten journeys. Most of this class has been together 8+ hours a day since August 2014. Many even longer! We have laughed and played. We have learned, argued, cried and napped. We have eaten new foods together, shared stories and felt frustration. We have celebrated birthdays, prayed and voiced our opinions over an injustice. We have experienced victories and disappointments together. YES, we truly are a FAMILY. Although we are not always at our best, individually or corporately, like your own family we accept one another and do our best to show love and forgiveness each day. A preschool day is unique. Fours and fives are unique. Each one of us is unique because we were designed that way by our Creator. The Holy Spirit reminds me daily to cherish the unique qualities of my students, of my fellow teachers, and of each one of you as parents. I have been shown through the example of my Savior what it means to be cherished for who I am. The Cross is the ultimate expression of how much He cherished me in my sinfulness. The LORD in His infinite wisdom thought to bring each of you as parents and each of us as teachers into the life of your little one, so that together we could through our God-given unique personalities nurture, instruct and love your child. I am continually amazed by my GOD!!! With All Our Hearts, Mrs. Kathy, Mrs. Cheri, and Miss Kayla School Age Program But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 I am so excited for all the fun and adventure we will be having this summer! For the next 10 weeks we will be taking each week to discuss one of the Fruits of the Spirit. For the month of June, we will be learning Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, and Gentleness! On Wednesday and Friday of each week, we will have Water Day! Please make sure to have your child wear their bathing suits to school for those days. They must wear water shoes (or tennis shoes/sandals that can get wet), not crocs or flip-flops. Please provide sunscreen (with a completed form), a towel, and a change of clothes!! This summer we will also go on Field Trips! As long as transportation is available, we will go on a field trip each Tuesday and Thursday. Below is a tentative schedule for June field trips. We will NOT be going on a field trip the week of June 15 th -19 th. June 2 nd - Knightdale Park June 23 rd - Pullen Park June 4 th - CiCis Pizza for Lunch June 25 th - Pelicans Snow Cone June 9 th - Visit the Library June 30 th - Krispy Kreme June 11 th - Marbles Museum We have a lot of fun things planned for your child this summer! If you have any questions, please don t hesitate to ask! Blessings! Mrs. Samantha 5

Sunday Morning Services 9:00-10:10am Small Groups for all ages 10:30-11:45am Worship (with Preschool Worship) Sunday Evening Services 6:00PM Gold represents the golden streets and glory of heaven, where we will spend eternity with Christ if we believe in Him. God wants everyone to go to heaven. In the Bible it says: Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelations 2:10 But we can t get to heaven because of our sin, represented by this Black color, which separates us from God. In the Bible it says: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 Red is for the Blood of Jesus, shed on the cross for us. In the Bible it says:...while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8b When we ask Jesus to forgive our sins and come into our hearts, our sins are washed away. We sometimes say we are now White as snow. In the Bible it says: "...the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin." 1 John 1:7b Blue represents baptism, being immersed in water to show our "death" and "resurrection" in Christ. Baptism does not save you, but we do it to follow Jesus example. In the Bible it says: "Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John." Matthew 3:13 Green is for all growing things. It represents growth as we study God's Word and become mature Christians. We can grow in the Lord by reading our Bible, praying, and attending church services. In the Bible it says: "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18a Come join us! 6

Hello Central Baptist Preschool Families! I wanted to get a few updates to you. First is the start date of our school age program: June 1 st! We are thrilled to announce we have availability to enroll 13 children weekly in our new Track- Out Camp opportunity! This is for elementary children up through fifth grade. We will use the multipurpose room at the end of the hall as a classroom for these children. There will be curriculum for the week that will include scripture, games, crafts and some field trips! The Fruits of the Spirit from Galatians chapter 5 will be the focus of the first couple of months. The various age ranges will be combined, but we hope to establish a partner/buddy system between age groups. Children graduating from the preschool at the end of this month are not included in this number, however, we do need to know your needs for child care as well. We assume your schedule will remain the same until you let us know otherwise. Please remit a notice two weeks in advance of your child s withdrawal. The 2015 preschool graduates are not eligible for field trips. Field trips will be solely determined on church vehicle availability. Even if they have been scheduled, booked, planned and permission slips have been signed, we will have to see if a van is open on that day. Your understanding is appreciated. Hopefully this program will be able to support the purchase of our very own vehicle in the future! The 13 children enrolled will be on a weekly schedule. This will be different from what you may be used to in preschool. You are not required to pay for every week just the weeks your child needs to attend. Therefore, we need lots of notice! When you know what weeks you will need for child care, just let us know as soon as possible. I have a feeling these spaces will fill up quickly. Part-time options will also be available weekly. Rates are $150 for Monday through Friday, $90 for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and $60 for Tuesday and Thursday. As with the preschool, this will include morning and afternoon snacks and lunch. There will be no nap time. The children will have access to the playground and they will have water play twice a week throughout the summer. There will be one adult, or group leader, with the children, except when on field trips. We will have an extra person along when the children are off campus. I have been asked about Before and After School Care for school age children as well. We are open 6:30am to 6:30pm, however we cannot (at this time) provide transportation to or from school. Hopefully in the future, as I stated earlier, we can purchase the vehicle(s) to make this possible. In the meantime, you are welcome to contact the WCPSS Transportation Department and ask about a bus route your child can ride that stops at the neighborhood across from us. You may even ask if they would create one. Sometimes that can happen depending on the demand. If you do find out something, let me know! We can appoint a staff member to meet the bus in the morning and the afternoon. Once again, please let us know which weeks and which days you would like for your child to attend Track-Out Camp at CBC as soon as you can. You may only know what your summer needs are for now, but this program will run year-round. The Track-Out Camp will follow the preschool calendar, so please refer to that to see the days the program will be closed. This is a new adventure and we are so excited! God continues to pour out His blessings on CBCP and we continue to strive to minister to this community. Praise God for allowing us to work in His Holy Name! Thank you for supporting CBCP! 7
