November 6, 2016 8:30 and 11:00AM Those who are able may stand GOD CALLS US INTROIT AND KYRIE HYMN 15 Sing verses 1 and 4 to 6 WELCOME AND CALL TO WORSHIP bold in unison CANDLELIGHTING All Creatures of Our God and King With thanksgiving on my tongue, I sing praise for the feet of the saints who walked this path long before me who pointed out this path to me who cleared the path with me. With thanksgiving on my tongue, I sing praise for the wisdom of the saints who shared their vision of God s ways who lived faithfully by God s ways who loved God all the way. With thanksgiving on my tongue, I sing praise for the cloaks of the saints that sheltered my weary soul from the dust that marked my life for a new adventure that gave me some fl air for the dance. With thanksgiving on your tongue, now sing praise for the voices of the saints who named God within you who evoked God from you who gave God to you. In this time of prayer and quiet meditation you are invited to come forward to light a prayer candle OPENING PRAYER bold in unison Holy Being, who called all of us into life, from the fi rst Adam and Eve to the babies born around the world this morning, you have labored and we have been born; holy is your name in all the earth. We thank you this day for all who have shown us your way. Abraham and Sarah heard your call and ventured new places, even when they were old. We listen for your call today. Miriam and Moses danced and led your people from suffering toward a new promise. We await a vision of your burning fi re today. Deborah fought, Samuel prayed and they led in different ways. We are preparing to lead this day. David and Bathsheba sinned and were forgiven. We confess our sin and long for your grace today. Amos spoke and Esther stood tall for the sake of justice. We open ourselves to your strength today. Mother Mary and Brother Jesus accepted your call. We attend to your word this day. Peter and Paul, Magdalene and Lydia, and saints through the ages picked up their cross. We pray that we might faithfully follow today.

Holy Being, who called us into life through the saints in our lives, be born anew to us, that we might serve all your saints; the hungry and thirsty, the sick and imprisoned, the naked and forgotten to honor to your holy name in all the earth Amen. RESPONSE 724 vs. 3, words printed at right O let me hear thee speaking in accents clear and still, above the storms of passion, the murmurs of self-will; O speak to reassure me, to hasten or control; O speak, and make me listen, thou guardian of my soul.
