He was baptized Sept. 16, 1854, in Aalbdrg, emigrated to Utah in 1854, and located later in Brigham City. He filled a mission to Scandinavia in 1894-1896, was ordained a High Priest Feb. 14, 1897, by Rudger Clawson, and ordained a BishoD Nov. 20. 1899.bv An-.s- 430 LATTER. DAY SANT op Sept. 9, 1877, by Lorenzo Snow. He was one of the first settlers in Neeleyville, daho, where he acted as Bishop from 1883 to 1901. NCHOLS, Alvin, Bishop of the Brigham City Ward, Box Elder Stake, Utah, from 1857 to 1876, was born Aug. 19, 1819, in Upper Canada, the son of Sheldon Nichols and Susannah Chipman. He was baptized in Canada in October, 1834, by Lyman Stoddard, migrated to New York in 1837, and later to Missouri, where he passed through the persecutions of the Saints, moved to Nauvoo, ll., in 1842 (after residing in Wisconsin), located in the Pottawattamie country, owa, in 1846, where he later presided over the ndian Creek Branch, arrived in G. S. L. Valley in 1852, and located in Brigham City in April, 1855. NELSEN, James (Jens), Bishop of the Perry (formerly T h l' e e-m i 1e Creek) Ward, Box Elder Stake, Utah, from 1896 to 1905, was born Oct. 6, 1833, in Soby, Hjorring amt, Denmark, became a convert to "Mormonism" in 1854, and emigrated to America, arriving in G. S. L. City in 1856. He filled a mission to Scandinavia in 1884-1886. Soon afterwards he located at Three-Mile Creek, and was ordained a High Priest and Bishop Oct. 25, 1896, by Rudger Clawson. PERRY, Heber W., Bishop of the Perry Ward, Box Elder Stake, Utah, from 1913 to 1924, was born Oct. 25, 1866, in Three-Mile-Creek, or Perry, the son of Henry E. Perry and Elizabeth Zabriske. He was baptized May 4. 1R7ft W:lR or,binerl a Hil!'h Priest ordained a Bishop June 6, 1914, by Orson F. Whitney. He was baptized early in 1839, emigrated to Far West, Mo., suffered in the Missouri and llinois persecutions, arrived in Utah in 1R55,and was ordained a High Priest and Bishop Sept. 9, 1877, by Lorenzo Snow. The original name, Three Mile Creek, was changed to that of Perry in his honor. PETERS, Morris R., Bishop of the Perry Ward, Box Elder Stake, Utah, from 1905 to 1913, was born Nov. 22, 1855, in Brigham City, Utah, the son of David Peters and Laura Jones. He was baptized Aug. 6, 1865, by William Neeley, ordained a High Priest Oct. 25, 1896, by Rudger Clawson, and ordained a Bishop April 8, 1905, by the same Apostle. He died March 25, 1916. RCH, Abel Sargent, Bishop of the Brigham City 1st Ward, Box Elder Stake, Utah, from 1921 to 1930+, was born Sept. 16, 1883, in Paris, Bear Lake Co., daho, the son of Abel George Rich and Mary nnes. He was baptized Aug. 4, 1892, by James Nye, and ordained a High Priest and Bishop Oct. 23, 1921, by Rudger Clawson. He was baptized Jan. 11, 1849, by Thomas Smith, emigrated to Utah in 1849, located in Brigham City in 1876, and was ordaihed a High Priest and Bishop Sept. '9, 1877, by Lorenzo Snow. VALENTNE, Nephi James, Bishop of the Brigham City 2nd Ward, Box Elder Stake, Utah, from 1922 to 1929, was born Nov. 15, 1867, in Brigham City, the son of Valentin Valentinsen and Johanne Andersen. He was baptized June 8, 1877, ordained to the Priesthood and was set apart for a mission to Scandinavia Oct. 8, 1897.
