The Blessing and Kingdom Connection Part 2 VI. Proverbs 16:9 A man s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. A. God intervened in man s attempt to build the tower of Babel! B. Dr. Winston was instructed by the Lord to pour anointing oil all around the block and the drug dealers never showed up again! C. It is time for you and me to take the kingdom all over the earth. VII. 1 Corinthians 10:26 - For the [whole] earth is the Lord s and everything that is in it. A. The devil s lease expired when Jesus arose from the grave. B. We have acquired authority and rulership to dominate the earth. C. The wealth of the world belongs to us! D. The only thing stopping Christians is their lack of knowledge. E. Everywhere Jesus went, the situation changed. VIII. Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity], 19 To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound]. A. The Spirit of the Lord is upon you, too! B. The purpose of being filled with the Spirit is to bring the gospel to the world. C. Jesus is not the answer; He brought the answer! D. Jesus is not the destination; He is the doorway into it. E. The destination is the kingdom. F. Christians are preaching Jesus rather than the kingdom. G. Preaching Jesus is not preaching the same message Jesus preached! 2
IX. H. The Spirit of the Lord is upon you to preach the kingdom, not to preach Jesus. I. The kingdom: 1. The poor don t have to be poor no more! 2. The sick don t have to be sick anymore! 3. The captives are freed from bondage. Galatians 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify (declare righteous, put in right standing with Himself) the Gentiles in consequence of faith, proclaimed the Gospel [foretelling the glad tidings of a Savior long beforehand] to Abraham in the promise, saying, In you shall all the nations [of the earth] be blessed. A. Scripture is upper case because it is referring to Jesus. B. Jesus was the Word who came in the flesh. C. Jesus proclaimed the Gospel to Abraham, declaring THE BLESSING. D. Referring back to Luke 4:18, the kingdom and the blessing are totally connected. E. The kingdom is to be taken all over the earth by means of the blessing. F. The acceptable year of the Lord is the Jubilee; restoration of all that was taken. X. Exodus 9:1 Then the Lord said to Moses, Go to Pharaoh and tell him, Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews: Let My people go, that they may serve Me. 2 If you refuse to let them go and still hold them, 3 Behold, the hand of the Lord [will fall] upon your livestock which are out in the field, upon the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds and the flocks; there shall be a very severe plague. 4 But the Lord shall make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, and nothing shall die of all that belongs to the Israelites. 5 And the Lord set a time, saying, Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land. 6 And the Lord did that the next day, and all [kinds of] the livestock of Egypt died; but of the livestock of the Israelites not one died. A. An economic recession was about to hit Egypt. B. During this recession, God s people were not going to be affected! (Vs 4) C. Only those who are ruled by fear will be affected by the recession. D. This is a message of dominion, not subjection. XI. Exodus 9:17 Since you are still exalting yourself [in haughty defiance] against My people by not letting them go, 3
18 Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very heavy and dreadful fall of hail, such as has not been in Egypt from its founding until now. 19 Send therefore now and gather your cattle in hastily, and all that you have in the field; for every man and beast that is in the field and is not brought home shall be struck by the hail and shall die. 20 Then he who feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his livestock flee into the houses and shelters. 21 And he who ignored the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field. 22 The Lord said to Moses, Stretch forth your hand toward the heavens, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man and beast, and upon all the vegetation of the field, throughout the land of Egypt. 23 Then Moses stretched forth his rod toward the heavens, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire (lightning) ran down to and along the ground, and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt. 24 So there was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the weighty hail, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 The hail struck down throughout all the land of Egypt everything that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail beat down all the vegetation of the field and shattered every tree of the field. 26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were, was there no hail. A. God protects His property. (Vs 26) B. If you own your stuff, the protection won t be there. C. Recession won t affect a true steward who realizes all He has belongs to God. D. It is your option to participate in the recession or not! XII. Matthew 6:31 Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? 32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all. 33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. A. Don t worry about and seek after provision. B. Seek first the kingdom of God. 4
C. Kingdom = basileia (Greek) = royalty, rulership, reign; the king s power. D. We are to be seeking how the King of kings rules. E. When we download from heaven God s ways of doing things, we will get kingdom results. F. Kings don t build buildings; they decree buildings which then appear. G. The Babylonian way (the world s system) is to seek after stuff. H. Don t add more hours to your workday; add more faith! I. In addition to seeking first the kingdom is to seek after God s righteousness. J. Righteousness = just; meet; right-thinking; godly thinking; God s way of thinking. 1. God s way of thinking is ownership! 2. Wherever He puts His foot, He owns it. K. God always adds in proportion to your level of seeking. L. If you are struggling, you need to increase your seeking! XIII. Isaiah 55:8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. A. The word thoughts refers to righteousness. (Vs 8) B. Ways refers to kingdom. (Vs 8) C. God is saying that His way is better than your way, so do it His way! D. It refers to the earth. (Vs 10) E. Earth = solid part of the region including the occupants. (Vs 10) 1. People are made of dirt; therefore, they are part of the earth. 2. Your seed will come from some person on earth. F. Seed only goes to the sower. 5
G. The seed God provides contains the harvest that God wants you to have. H. Seed is on a mission to find a sower. I. If you are not a sower, seed is not looking for you. 6
