The Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time-September 23, 2018 Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church As a parish of the Catholic Diocese of Charleston, Our Lady of Grace seeks to know and share God s Word, live as a community of Christian disciples, devoutly celebrate the Holy and other sacraments, provide a prayerful environment for all people, and serve the poor and those in need in Christ s Name. In this way of life, Our Lady of Grace Parish looks to Mary of Nazareth as its model and patron. Congratulations, Spike & Louanne Pelletier, On the Blessing of your Marriage The Most Rev. Robert E. I m glad we all survived the wiles of Hurricane Florence! As you heard last week at, we ve had to move several events to this week. In particular, at this Saturday 4:00 PM, I have the pleasure of blessing our new reredos. As we all see, it s a beautiful artistic addition to the worship area of our church. Thank you to the Women s Fellowship and the Knights of Columbus for your generosity toward this project. We have this reredos because of your kindness. Thank you! PARTY on Sunday!! Our Fall Festival is THIS Sunday from 12 Noon until 3:00 PM. Please come by and have some fun with your fellow parishioners! Thank you to everyone who participated in our Diaper Drive this weekend. All of the donated diapers will go to mothers in need. This outreach by our parish shows the love of the Lord Jesus to our neighbors (and to all those in need). Our actions declare: Our Lady of Grace cares! This weekend, Natalie Jackson, our Director of Evangelization and Social Ministry, is headed off to the Expanded Reason Congress in Rome. The international conference works to apply the teachings of Pope Benedict XVI to all areas of the Church and society. Natalie submitted a paper for the conference. While her paper was not accepted this year, the review panel was very interested in her research on the social doctrine of the Church. Natalie will be attending the conference and bringing back a wealth of knowledge and ideas to the parish! Safe travels and God s blessings, Natalie! Sunday, September 30, 2018 7:00 am For the Parish 9:00 am Gregory Alia 11:00 am Souls in Purgatory Scripture Readings for the es can be found at: usccb.org/bible/readings Also, if you haven t signed up for the Pictorial Directory yet, new dates in October are now available. It s our great hope that as many parishioners as possible participate in our new directory! Please note that next Sunday we ll have the Blessing of Children in honor of the Holy Angels at all the es. Also, next Sunday, at 1:00 PM, we ll have our annual Blessing of Animals at the Knights Pavilion. All pets great and small - are welcome to come for the blessing! Also, please note the Life Chain and afternoon Adoration/Rosary on Sunday, October 7. These are opportunities for us as Christians to stand and defend the dignity of the unborn and other vulnerable people. Please consider participating in one or both of these events. As we enter into the Fall, we re going to host a Day of Recollection, which is like a mini-retreat, with Gary Zimak. Gary is a noted author, radio personality, and speaker. He ll be visiting us on October 13. Please mark your calendars as I think we d all benefit from his talks and spiritual wisdom. More updates next week. Let s pray for one another!
