The Glory A-Z By Dr. Dan Cheatham Getting into The Glory & The Glory Getting into You! John G. Lake: "Must preach the highest and most noble thing that God is presently showing you and NOT dumb it down for the people... even if you think they might choke on what you preach, thinking to yourself that maybe the content is too meaty! But let the Holy Spirit bring them up to His level." I. My Story: Recently (Monday, 17 Nov 2014 around midnight I guess or maybe later into early Tuesday), I was quietly reciting & meditating Psalm 3 in the middle of the night along with all the Psalms that I've have memorized over the years. Got to Psalm 3 and was quoting, "But thou O Lord art a shield for me, MY GLORY, and the lifter of my head." The Spirit of God suddenly spoke and defined "GLORY" to me while I was suspended there half way between consciousness and sleep, reciting, meditating, and enjoying His sweetness! The Spirit whispered to my inner man: "The GLORY is the ATMOSPHERE OF GOD PACKED WITH HIS PRESENCE... IN VARYING MEASURES AND TO DIFFERENT DEGREES!" A key word here being "PACKED!" I suddenly realized that GOD HIMSELF EMANATES THINGS! And these things that are made of HIS GLORY can take on different shapes and forms, time frames, and be in different places. For example, the rainbow about His throne is NOT something entirely SEPARATE from Himself, but an eternal element of THE GLORY STREAMING from His being! That rainbow has always been and always will be PRESENT TENSE and FRESH WITH BREATHTAKING COLORS! The RIVER OF LIFE flowing out from His throne is NOT A SEPARATE CREATED THING, but rather one of the FLOWS or TRIBUTARIES OF HIS VERY PRESENCE AND GLORY! 1. Glory Cloud: Not so dense! (See Ex 13:22) 2. Pillar of Fire: Denser! See Ex 13:22)
3. Star: Extremely Dense! (See Mt 2:9) Literal Hebrew for "Glory" is "WEIGHT." It also means "COPIOUSNESS" or "SPLENDOR." There is another word in the Hebrew that can be used for the idea of weight, but it can be used both in the negative or positive. But this word, GLORY, can only be used in the POSITIVE SENSE and seems reserved to describe God and the things of God. THE WEIGHTY PRESENCE OF GOD! THE TANGIBLE MANIFESTATION OF HIS PERSON... IN PERSON by the Holy Spirit! HIS THICK AND RESPLENDENT GLORY! Measures, densities, degrees of His tangible reality! Getting into The Glory & The Glory Getting into You! II. DIFFERENT MEASURES: Density Look at the density of these dots below............. A. TV's and Cameras: PIXELS... You get what you pay for in resolution (density) of image. Low pixels are cheaper but the image is fuzzy. Higher number of pixels per square inch results in a crisper and sharper image, but more expensive. We call that HIGH DEFINITION! Picture seems BRIGHTER and SHARPER because it is PACKED with more pixels!
B. HIGH DEFINITION GLORY!!!! C. LOW DEFINITION GLORY!!!! D. But ALL DENSITIES OF GLORY ARE SIGNIFICANT!... Regardless of the density, I'll take them all! E. My father packing our 56 Oldsmobile trunk! MASTER-PACKER! Every crack and crevice stuffed with something. I mean he could get an UNREAL amount of luggage, gifts and stuff in a car trunk! No hard suitcases allowed. Only soft bendable bags. He MADE IT FIT, no matter how much our large family had. He took stuff out of bags, stuffed them in shoes and covey holes and spaces I never knew were in trunks! The car looked like it was jacked up in the front! F. Must appreciate each level or measure of glory to begin experiencing it. Must YIELD to it! Treasure the GLORY! Yield to the GLORY! Value the GLORY! G. The Bible declares, "The whole earth is full of His glory!" What this means is that all of God s creation possesses a measure of His glory. Even the rankest sinner is presently experiencing a tiny bit of Gods glory, by virtue of living here on the earth, but he or she refuses to acknowledge it. Isaiah 6:3 (KJV) -...the whole earth is full of his glory. H. Hell is the ABSOLUTE ABSENCE OF GOD S GLORY. That's why there is ZERO LIGHT and 100% SENSE OF LONELINESS - no sense of anyone or anything but excruciating torment! ABSOLUTE ABSENCE OF GOD! NOT A SINGLE VESTIGE OR CRUMB OF HIS GLORY! As compared to earth where elements of His Glory can be found everywhere! SO DONT WAIT UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE TO RECEIVE CHRIST! DO IT NOW! I. Earth and all created things in it, and around it, contain the PARTIAL PRESENCE OF GODS GLORY.
J. Heaven is the ABSOLUTE PRESENCE OF GOD S GLORY. K. Visitations and rendezvous with God bring increased DENSITIES OF GODS GLORY on a spectrum or scale somewhere between PARTIAL and ABSOLUTE. L. The GLORY also has DIMENSIONS in addition to DENSITIES. M. The GLORY can COME DOWN to you, or you can be TAKEN UP into it. Who cares! Let it happen! You don't have to understand it to enjoy it! LOL! N. The. GLORY can manifest in the FELT REALM only, or also in the SEEN REALM, or in the HEARD REALM, or just in the SENSED REALM, or by all these means together. O. The GLORY can strike SUDDENLY or RISE SLOWLY OVER TIME. (Can come unexpectedly like a lightning strike or float in slowly like smoke filling a room... from slight to thick.) P. THE MORE YOU EXPECT THE GLORY TO SHOW UP, THE MORE IT WILL COME! Q. THE MORE YOU EMBRACE IT, THE MORE IT WILL EMBRACE YOU! R. THE MORE YOU TALK ABOUT THE GLORY, THE MORE COMFORTABLE YOU BECOME WITH IT AND THE MORE FAITH YOU HAVE IN IT TO MANIFEST. S. THE MORE YOU YIELD TO THE GLORY, THE STRONGER IT BECOMES ON YOU, AS IT RISES & CRESTS! T. Over time you develop an AUTOMATIC FAITH FOR THE GLORY TO SHOW UP. You just come to expect it every time you pray, every time you worship, and especially every time you assemble with the saints. You possess a strong faith in the PRESENCE OF HIS GLORY! Not a forced faith. Not trying to have faith for it, but you get to a place where YOU KNOW THE GLORY WILL SHOW UP! You simply EFFORTLESSLY EXPECT IT! It becomes an integral and natural part of what you are believing. You begin to think it strange and odd if the glory doesn't manifest. U. Greater numbers of believers yielding to the GLORY at the same time and in the same place can INCREASE THE MEASURE OF GLORY MANIFESTING at any given time. Notice I wrote, "greater numbers of
believers yielding," not just "greater numbers of believers present." Numbers yield nothing if they are not truly worshipping. In fact, they can tip the scales towards the absence of His presence if they are not seeking and reaching and touching the Father's heart. A key to evangelism in any church service is enough true worshippers in a service that invoke the GLORY enough to where the unbelievers present can FEEL Gods presence and thus be persuaded of His reality and convinced of His love for them. V. The GLORY can easily be quenched when the leader(s) of any gathering of believers IGNORE OR MISS THE GLORY WHEN IT BEGINS TO COME. Instead of further yielding to it, the leader(s) continues out of his or her intellect in the direction originally planned or envisioned, or just STOPS ALTOGETHER what is happening because he or she has no idea what to do with such beginning to manifest! (Unfortunately, I can say I've been there, done that, and got the T-shirt! But I'm learning!) W. The GLORY can affect your BODY. X. The GLORY can affect your MIND. Y. The GLORY can affect your EMOTIONS. Z. Most importantly the GLORY can affect the eternal you, your inner man, your spirit, the hidden man of your heart! Getting into The Glory & The Glory Getting into You! III. BE GLORY IN THE CHURCH Ephesians 3:21 (KJV) -21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. BE GLORY IN THE CHURCH! BE GLORY IN OUR FELLOWSHIP!
BE GLORY IN OUR WORSHIP! BE GLORY IN OUR PREACHING! BE GLORY IN OUR SERVICES! BE GLORY IN OUR GATHERINGS! BE GLORY IN OUR PRAYERS! BE GLORY IN OUR ATTITUDES! BE GLORY IN OUR THOUGHTS AND MINDS! BE GLORY IN OUR BODIES! BE GLORY IN OUR MARRIAGES! BE GLORY ON OUR FACES! BE GLORY IN OUR HANDS! BE GLORY IN... (Fill in the Blank!) IV. When you get into the GLORY, the GLORY can get into you! 2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV) -18 But we all, with open face [unveiled face] beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
WHEN THE GLORY GETS INTO YOU, YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY CHANGED, AND THAT RADICALLY! Each time you connect to, or come in contact with, THE GLORY, you are either consciously or unconsciously changed into ANOTHER LEVEL OF GLORY! This happens whether you realize it or not!
