F R O M T H E E V A N G E L I S T S D E S K Change Includes Challenge The Lord has proven that his hand is upon the West End congregation as we steadily move forward toward our new residence. An opportunity is before us for new ministry impact. The Lord has provided the vision, talent, and lending to elevate our efforts to expand the Kingdom of God. The leadership has moved prayerfully, trusting that God is faithful to his people as they move in commitment to his divine agenda. We also know that change must be managed because it includes challenges. Change is always difficult to navigate. God s people have historically struggled with change. This is particularly true when God s people become comfortable with a predicament even when the predicament is problematic. When God called Israel out of Egyptian bondage, this was consistent with their cry for freedom. However, when the journey brought about challenge, change was less desirable. This is seen at the Red Sea when Israel encountered an obstacle of hindrance as they sought to escape the grip of the Egyptians. God had already manifested his power through 10 strategic plaques causing Pharaoh to release his people. However, found themselves trapped in Pi-hahiroth being pursued by their enemy. It was in this moment that they forgot how far God had brought them and sought to turn back because change included challenge. Their lack of faith is made known in Exodus 14:11-12 where it states: Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, 1bringing us out of Egypt? Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness. Israel had failed to look back on everything God had done to bring them to where they were at the edge of the sea. He was preparing to bring them into the next level of their existence as a free nation under the sovereignty of God, yet their most prevalent obstacle was the inability to trust God during the time of change. Change will bring challenges that are not always foreseen, but God expects faith in the process of change as he prepares his people for elevation into destiny (Hebrews 11:29). The entire leadership of West End and I desire your partnership in faith as we trust God to bring us across our Red Sea into the next level of our Journey. We are looking forward to change while committing to trust God in the new challenges ahead. Here s what God has done for us so far: Provided a forward-thinking leadership team Provided a land to build Provided lending to expedite the building process Provided a purchaser of our current building close to our asking price. Watch God bring us into a land flowing with milk and honey (Deut. 26:9). B A C K T O S C H O O L E V E N T JULY 21 - Our Back to School and Health Fair event is right around the corner.
