Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Matthew 9:36-38 From Pastor Ralph... What a wonderful time of the year! Fall weather, lots of football, the Peanut Festival, and Thanksgiving and Christmas soon to come! I love the holidays. They are all about Jesus! Being thankful implies that there is someone to be thankful to, and that One is Jesus (James 1:17). Christmas, of course, is all about God coming to earth as one of us to rescue us from sin and darkness. The coming weeks are all about Him! That gives us a tremendous opportunity to keep our focus on Jesus and to point other people to Him as well. Ask the Lord to show you how to do this, and let me make a couple of suggestions... Reminders of the holidays are everywhere, so let these be a reminder to pray. Briefly give thanks to God each time you see a reminder. Use these two weeks before Thanksgiving to become more thankful. Thanksgiving is powerful! It connects us to the Lord in worship (Psalm 100:4), and it honors Him. It reminds us of His goodness and faithfulness. It opens our eyes to God s blessings that surround us everyday. It focuses us on what we have instead of what we don t have, and that leads us to contentment. Thanksgiving changes attitudes, emotions, and perspective. Thanksgiving enables us to believe the truth instead of the deceptions of the world. Thanksgiving brings Peace, Joy, Love, Patience, and Kindness into our hearts. As we express gratitude, we bless people around us. We help them see the good and positives instead of all the negative in the world. We bless them and point them to Jesus. So use this time to grow in gratitude! Start each day with a prayer of thanksgiving to God, and let every reminder of the holidays draw you back to thanksgiving. As you practice thanksgiving, you will encourage yourself in the Lord, glorify His name, and bless people around you. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever Psalm 107:1....give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God s will for you in Christ Jesus 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

group life Open Small Group Four Cups by Chris Hodges Wednesdays at 6:45pm in the Worship Center. Everyone is welcome to attend. What if God has had a plan for your life since the very beginning? Not just the beginning of your life, but from the foundations of faith itself? The key to your spiritual fulfillment is found in four promises that God first spoke to His people in the Old Testament, and they are still at the core of his heart and his plans for you today. Steeped in Jewish history and tradition, yet breathing the transforming hope of Christ on every page, Four Cups will help you move forward on your spiritual journey as you understand the four stages of faith, believe the promises of God for your life, and discover what it means to be truly fulfilled.
