12 / 6 / 14 It Is G-d Who Is Working Deuteronomy 34:1-12 Larry Feldman Esther 4:13,14 13 Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, "Do not imagine that you in the king's palace can escape any more than all the Jews. 14 "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father's house will perish." While G-d takes AWAY and RAISES up servants, His PURPOSES and PLANS will still be accomplished. I. Though G-d removes His servants, He still keeps His promises. I. Though G-d removes His servants, He still keeps His promises. A. G-d uses us to accomplish His will Deuteronomy 34:1-3 1 Now Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho And the L-rd showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan, 2 and all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah as far as the western sea, 3 and the Negev and the plain in the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. 1

Deuteronomy 34:5 So Moses the servant of the L-rd died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the L-rd. Numbers 20:12 But the L-rd said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you have not believed Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them." Deuteronomy 3:23-27 23 "I also pleaded with the L-rd at that time, saying, 24 'O L-rd G-d, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as Yours? 25 'Let me, I pray, cross over and see the fair land that is beyond the Jordan, that good hill country and Lebanon.' Deuteronomy 3:23-27 26 "But the L-rd was angry with me on your account, and would not listen to me; and the L-rd said to me, 'Enough! Speak to Me no more of this matter. 27 'Go up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes to the west and north and south and east, and see it with your eyes, for you shall not cross over this Jordan. Deuteronomy 34:6-8 6 And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows his burial place to this day. 7 Although Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye was not dim, nor his vigor abated. 8 So the sons of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end. Exodus 3:2-4, 7, 10 2 The angel of the L-rd appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed. 3 So Moses said, "I must turn aside now and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burned up." 4 When the L-rd saw that he turned aside to look, G-d called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am." 2

Exodus 3:2-4, 7, 10 7 The L-rd said, "I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings. 10 "Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt." Joshua 11:15, 23 15 Just as the L-rd had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he left nothing undone of all that the L-rd had commanded Moses. 23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the L-rd had spoken to Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes Thus the land had rest from war. Joshua 23:2, 4 2 Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and their heads and their judges and their officers, and said to them, "I am old, advanced in years. 4 "See, I have apportioned to you these nations which remain as an inheritance for your tribes, with all the nations which I have cut off, from the Jordan even to the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun. Joshua 24:28, 29 28 Then Joshua dismissed the people, each to his inheritance. 29 It came about after these things that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the L-rd, died. Esther 4:14 "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?" Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served the purpose of G-d in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay. 3

I. Though G-d removes His servants, He still keeps His promises. A. G-d uses us to accomplish His will B. G-d always keeps His promises I. Though G-d removes His servants, He still keeps His promises. A. G-d uses us to accomplish His will B. G-d always keeps His promises Deuteronomy 34:4 Then the L-rd said to him, "This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, 'I will give it to your descendants'; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there." John 3:16, 18 16 "For G-d so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of G-d. John 10:27-28 27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. Romans 8:28 And we know that G-d causes all things to work together for good to those who love G-d, to those who are called according to His purpose. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and G-d is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. 4

II. Though G-d raises up new servants, it is still G-d who does the work. II. Though G-d raises up new servants, it is still G-d who does the work. A. G-d raises up new servants to do His will II. Though G-d raises up new servants, it is still G-d who does the work. A. G-d raises up new servants to do His will Deuteronomy 34:9 Now Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; and the sons of Israel listened to him and did as the L-rd had commanded Moses. Joshua 1:1-2, 9 1 Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the L-rd, that the L-rd spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, 2 "Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. Joshua 1:1-2, 9 9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the L-rd your G-d is with you wherever you go." Hebrews 11:32 And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets. 5

1 Samuel 13:13-14 13 Samuel said to Saul, "You have acted foolishly; you have not kept the commandment of the L-rd your G-d, which He commanded you, for now the L-rd would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. 14 "But now your kingdom shall not endure. The L-rd has sought out for Himself a man after His own heart, and the L-rd has appointed him as ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the L-rd commanded you." 1 Samuel 15:28 So Samuel said to him, "The L-rd has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to your neighbor, who is better than you. 1 Samuel 16:1 Now the L-rd said to Samuel, "How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have selected a king for Myself among his sons." John 15:16, 19 16 "You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. 19 "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. II. Though G-d raises up new servants, it is still G-d who does the work. A. G-d raises up new servants to do His will B. G-d uses us to accomplish His will Deuteronomy 34:10-12 10 Since that time no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the L-rd knew face to face, 11 for all the signs and wonders which the L-rd sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, all his servants, and all his land, 12 and for all the mighty power and for all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel. 6

John 6:30-32 30 So they said to Him, "What then do You do for a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform? 31 "Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, 'HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.' 32 Yeshua then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. Acts 3:7-8, 12-13 7 And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened. 8 With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising G-d. Acts 3:7-8, 12-13 12 But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, "Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? 13 "The G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the G-d of our fathers, has glorified His servant Yeshua, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." 2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Messiah, as though G-d were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Messiah, be reconciled to G-d. 7

Conclusion While G-d TAKES away and raises up SERVANTS, His PURPOSES and plans will still be ACCOMPLISHED. It Is G-d Who Is Working Deuteronomy 34:1-12 12 / 6 / 14 Larry Feldman 8
