SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF GOD! Messages from God Teachings by Adriana Chereches 7th July 2015 Bible text: MATTHEW 12:33-37

Our enemy knows about the great potential we have in Christ. He knows that we can declare things in each other s lives. He knows that we can speak LIFE to others. My question is: are we aware of our potential in Christ? The enemy wants to shut you up! He will try to convince you that the words you speak to others are empty and that they have neither value nor power. For this reason he will try to make you silent. Jesus said about His disciples: If these should keep silent, the stones will immediately cry out! (Luke 19:40). With you or without you, the Word of God will reach the needed ones. God will find a way to transmit His message of Salvation. Do not listen to the enemy s voice; he just wants you to keep your mouth shut and to not enjoy all of the blessings that you will receive when you start to speak the Word of God to others. God created us with a mouth; its purpose is to speak His language and to proclaim His Salvation to the others. This is the purpose of our mouth. Do not keep your mouth shut. The Enemy wants to keep you silent. Everything that God created in us has a holy purpose: our mouth is a powerful instrument for communicating to the others the oracles of God, for speaking the language of God! In order to express our ideas and our messages we often use words. The words we use when we speak are very important. In Proverbs 18:21 we read: Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it s fruit. We must be aware of the fact that we can kill with our words or we can give life to the hearers. Let s speak up LIFE to the others!

Where do our words come from? Verse 34 says: out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. If we think evil things in our heart this will be transferred in our speech. If we have good things in our mind we will speak encouragement, edification and hope to others. James 3:8 says: no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. The verse says: no man, but what about God? Is God able to help us to control our tongue? Definitely, He is able. James 3:2 says that if anyone does not stumble in word, he is aperfect man. We know that we are not perfect but God is and He can help us to speak in the way He wants us to speak. God wants you and me to speak His own language. In Ephesians chapter 4 verse 29 we read: Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Our words must always encourage, edify and bless the others. This is our calling and this has to be our language. This is the purpose why God created us with a mouth: TO SPEAK UP BLESSING to the others.

How can we test ourselves in order to see if we are speaking encouragement to others and edifying them? 1. Put a muzzle on your mouth and examine every word before letting it get out! See how many words speak LIFE and what percentage of them speak DEATH to the others. Psalm 39:1 reads, I said: I will guard my ways, lest I sin with my tongue, I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, while the wicked are before me. I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle. Let s imagine this muzzle on our mouth. It will look very strange on us. But I do not think that the muzzle that the psalmist is mentioning here is the same muzzle that is used on animals such as horses and dogs. Because the muzzle used on horses is intended to stop the horse from feeding and in the case of the dog, from biting. However the significance of the muzzle is that it is to be a control instrument. 2. Call upon God! We cannot control our mouth! No man can! But God has already prepared the right muzzle for our mouth. The muzzle that God has prepared for us is the Holy Spirit. In fact one part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit is self-control. (Galatians 5:23). Is self-control applicable also to the language we use? Of course it is! Self-control must be present in all that we are and do. Only God can help us to guard our lips, sending His Holy Spirit who will plant in us the fruit of self-control. Psalm 141:3 says: Set a guard o, Lord, over my mouth. Keep watch over the door of my lips. Let s unite in prayer with the psalmist and ask God to control our mouth and to teach us His own language. God has sent the Holy Spirit who lives in you for teaching you all the things, even how to speak. God wants us to be like Him, to act like Him and to speak like Him!

We must pay attention to our speeches so that they produce good things in those who hear them. Colossians 4:6 says: Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Our speeches must be seasoned with salt, so they need to have some flavor, our words need to produce something positive in those who hear them. We do not have time for useless speeches or useless talking, we have to use our tongue and open our mouth in order to speak the Word of God knowing that it is our responsibility to spread the knowledge about God to those who do not know Him. We need to be wise and to know our calling. Ephesians 5:15-21 talks about the fact that we need to be filled with the Spirit in order to identify the period we are living in to know what time it is from the God s perspective. We are living in the last days. Our God is coming, He is at the doors! That is why we have to be aware of the time we are living in. In this way, we will know how to react and how to behave. We will know that it is time to be fruitful and that it is time to watch on our language and to be filled with Spirit. Once we are filled with the Spirit, we will speak to one another in psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. When our God will come again on the Earth, He will bring with Him the rewards for everything we have done but also for everything we have said or not said. But I say to you that for very idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement. For by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned (Matthew 12:36-37). James says: Knowing this, my beloved brothers, let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger (James 1:19).

Let s not waste our time with empty speeches! Let s be slow to speak and guard our lips from sin, being filled with Spirit. Remember we are called to speak the oracles of God (1 Peter 4:11). We are called to speak the language of God, choose today to speak ENCOURAGEMENT and SALVATION Choose to speak the language of God! to the others. LIFE, HOPE,
