Youth Mission Report & Pastor Spranger preaching August 7th, 2016 Are you ready for some football? We are starting up a Fantasy Football league here at Osco! Open to adults and high school students. Space is limited to the first 28 people so be sure to sign up soon at the Welcome Center. Stay tuned for the date of our live draft event (Note: Must be present at the live draft to participate)! Tom Case s time of serving will be up at the end of this year and Ken Bowen and Jeff Padgett will complete their terms at the end of 2017. Cost for the member study book will be $16.00. We will using Beth Moore s study of Esther. This nine week study will run from Monday, September 12 - Monday, November 14. The Bible Study will be offered from 9-11 am or 6:30-8:15 pm. Childcare will be needed for Monday mornings. Osco Men s Fall Bible Study How do we as Christians faithfully respond to a rapidly changing culture around us? On Saturday, Sept 17, at 8:30 AM we will be starting a six week video bible study using Russell Moore s book, Onward: Engaging the Culture without Losing the Gospel. Come and learn how the kingdom of God sets our priorities as believers and gives us perspective on cultural issues. Registration begins August 14 in the downstairs foyer. Cost for a study book is $13.00. Looking Ahead: TORCH Items Due to Office - Friday, August 19th - Noon Just a reminder that we cannot guarantee space if TORCH information is sent in after the deadline. Join us for a special time of prayer as a church on Sunday, August 21 st, in the fellowship hall and gym during the Sunday school hour. Our normal adult Sunday school classes will be canceled for this special time of focused corporate prayer. Attention all Awana leaders, Sunday school teachers, and children s church leaders: We will be having a mandatory training meeting on August 24 at 6:00 PM in the fellowship hall. Please plan on attending this important meeting as we launch into the new year and cover some key changes happening in our children s ministries. Please let Pastor Tony or the church office know if you will not be able to attend. Secret Sisters Reveal Luncheon has been scheduled for Saturday, August 27 th at 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. The lunch will be potluck style. If your last name begins with A-F, bring a salad or fruit; G-N, bring a main dish; O-Z, bring an appetizer. Dessert and refreshments will be provided.
